I went in for eyebrow threading. The woman who threaded my eyebrows was great. She did a nice job shaping my eyebrows and was super quick. For only $ 8 I definitely plan to be back!

I go here for eyebrow threading and the woman always does the best job. I’ve tried going to other places that are more convenient, but it never looks as good. You can usually just walk in and not have to wait which is great for when you’re errands. I’m done trying out other places and only come here now.

So this place is nothing special. It doesn’t look super clean or super nice or anything like that. It’s pretty small inside too.
But, they do threading. Now you ladies, and guys, who get their eyebrows done if you haven’t tried threading and only do waxing, I definitely suggest at least giving it a try. With threading they can be more precise and give you a better shape. It also won’t cause the wrinkles that you’ll eventually get from waxing…
Yes there are a few other places in Hoboken that do offer threading services, but they’re so EXPENSIVE! I’m used to paying $ 5 for eyebrows from home and then I come to Hoboken and they charge me $ 12?! Fuhgettaboutit!
This place is the happy medium. They charge $ 8 for eyebrows. Yes they’re also a little bit out of the way but that’s awesome for customers because I’ve never had to wait! And I’m always satisfied at how awesome my eyebrows look when I leave.

Plain and simple, the guy cutting my hair reeked of MASSIVE B. O!!! It seemed like he hadn’t showered in weeks and I kept holding my breath because I was going to vomit and couldn’t get up in the middle of the haircut. How do you not wear deoderant when you are in a job so close to people? How do you not wear deodorant at all?
The place is dirty and the staff makes you feel uncomfortable. Yea. It is a $ 12 haircut, but for $ 5 more, I’d at least go for a more professional gratifying experience somewhere else in Hoboken.

This is the worst salon that I’ve ever been to in my life. I did go in for a pedicure ones because I saw that it was very cheap. Huge mistake. They had about four nail polish colors free to choose from and everything was old and dirty. My toenails ended up looking like I did them myself… Honestly I think id have done a better job.
i should have known better than to ever go back for a haircut but I was in a rush one day and their haircut stations always seemed full any time I passed it. I asked the Indian woman who was cutting my hair to just trim it but keep my layers and Angles. Long story short, she ends up just chopping off the front of my hair until I screamed for her to stop since she ruined it. The owner tried to THEN tell me that this girl doesn’t usually cut her, which was NOT the right thing to tell me. Why did h let her then???
I got up from the chair and said I’d go somewhere else to fix it– he STILL charged me full price and had the audacity to tell me next time I could te a free eyebrow thread on him.
I will NEVER go here again and suggest you never do either.

It’s a weird place because the name makes no sense and certainly does not match the inside. For me, its worth a few extra dollars to have a neat looking haircut.
UPDATE: I have not gone back since, but the price raised to 15 $. Definitely not worth it now.

This is my favorite place in Hoboken (and Jersey City) to get my eyebrows done. I had it done by this other threading place on Washington Street, which then closed and had another one open on 14th street, but the girl who would always do my eye brows would always make me look angry — she would always look angry herself. I stopped going here after she wouldn’t take my business 15 minutes before their closing time after I RUSHED to get there after work. Soon thereafter, they closed that location.
Then I had my brows waxed at Bloom and on 2 occasions the lady asked me who did my eye brows last because they were crooked. I guess she was trying to show that she knew quality, but unfortunately at those points, she was the person who actually did them last. (boo)
The girl who does the eye brows here has nice eyebrows herself. She always gives them the nicest shape and it’s the cheapest place I’ve been to in Hoboken too. They recently dropped their rate from $ 8 to $ 6 too.

Went to Sparkle Salon for the first time. My bf recommended the place since he’s always pleased with his haircut. The place needs a little updating but I am so happy with my haircut. They did a fantastic job and it’s such a great deal for $ 25. This is going to be my new go to place now!

Got the gift of 3 Brazilian waxes here. The gift giver never saw the inside of the place. I felt obligated to try it out. it was dirty and the owner was rude and clueless about customer service. The women doing the service was nice enough but I would not recommend the place for waxing. If I had a young nephew who needed his hair trimmed I’d bring him there for the cut. Other than that, no thanks.

Like others, I’ve gone here strictly for eyebrow threading a handful of times. It’s convenient, quick, and cheap, and there’s not a whole lot that they can mess up on.
Most recently, I came here for a threading and was convinced into a disaster of waxing project on my face that I’m still recovering from. Maybe I’m just a gullible person, but I generally take an esthetician’s (and others of similar professions’) suggestions for the best. I went with the flow and walked out of here feeling as if they had taken my trust for granted for an extra ten bucks. The result ended in a complete break-​out and unnecessarily waxed face. The whole experience turned me the wrong way. I wish I had somewhere else in the area to recommend (but trust me, I’ll be on the hunt.)

Strange place. The name doesn’t match the establishment. Nothing is very sparkly. It’s kinda dirty inside, and sort of a man cave, not really a salon at all. My girlfriend swung by while I was getting my hair cut, and she was thoroughly repulsed.
They were pretty friendly in an uncomfortable way. The owner kept yelling at the lady he had cleaning the place, and telling the guy cutting my hair what to do, and then trying to laugh at him with me. But I was sorta glad he was giving him some pointers, because it seemed like he hadn’t cut much hair before. Surprisingly, the tag team effort kinda worked out, and my haircut came out pretty nice, although not the cleanest cut I’ve had, but I like the messy look.
Also, it was really cheap, like $ 14 or something like that.
All in all, I got a nice cut, but I didn’t leave feeling confident a repeat performance would be as successful.

Sparkle is great. I get my hair cut here once a month. Jessie always remembers me. They have a rotating crew of hair stylists, none of them have been bad, but I miss one of the ladies. I forget her name though. Anyway for a men’s haircut it’s $ 12, I don’t think Great Clips is even that cheap. And you know what dudes out there, if you’re spending more than $ 12 – 15 on a haircut, check your man card at the door.
My fiancé has gotten the threading eyebrow thing there, personally it looks like torture, but whatever floats your boat.
Sparkle is cheap, convenient and friendly.

So I went in for my haircut appointment and was taken to a backroom and asked to take my pants off… yeh, you can imagine my reaction WTF lol… apparently they did not write down my appointment and thought I wanted a brazilian wax… which was weird because i told them when i came in that i was here for a wash and cut. But they made up for it with a nice haircut and complimentary blow dry.
The interior is small and can use some coat hangers… customers were putting their coats and belongings on the couches while getting service which left a couple customers standing. I should also note that the 10% Facebook discount does not apply to those $ 25 deals advertised on their website. Overall, it was a weird experience for me… but my hair looks great, so im on the fence about recommending it.

Review for eyebrow threading.
I go here mainly out of convenience — it’s close, it’s cheap, and it’s good enough. I used to go to the various Perfect Shape threading salons, and found them to be much more consistent overall. Sparkle offers a frequent customer card for threading, but I lost mine between my first and second time there. I got a replacement card, but only with one stamp, even though the stylist remembered she had given me one :(I’ll probably keep going, though, if just for the convenience.

When I found out that I could get a pedicure and manicure for $ 25 (extra 10% off every service for being a Facebook fan), I decided to give Sparkle a try. You can send a text message to Sparkle to request an appointment, and owner Jassi will text you promptly with a confirmation.
The interior of Sparkle could use some updating. Though everything seemed clean, the place looked a little shabby and hastily put together. The pedicure massage chair was more vibrating than massaging, which I guess some people might not mind.
While getting my nails done, I noticed that one of the hair stylists had a lot of clients coming in for appointments. Most of these clients were very good-​looking men (I’d come here again just for the eye candy), but she did have one woman. Then, I saw a sign in the window advertising a wash and cut for $ 25. I needed a trim so I booked an appointment for later that evening.
I couldn’t tell how my haircut looked until I was able to blow dry and style it myself. However, my hair turned out great, and I can’t believe that I got a manicure, pedicure, and haircut for less than $ 50 (I had the Facebook discount), not including tip.
Highlights: eye candy, Jassi turning up the radio and dancing, saving money.
