I’ve only been to this store once since moving to the area, but they have a great selection of natural pet products (for natural pets) including the brand of cat food I’ve been giving the «kids» for years in Seattle and was afraid I wouldn’t find in the NOVA ‘burbs. Service was friendly and they have a rewards program, so I have a new home pet store!

We’ve been getting food & treats there for a couple of years now and the owners know us. I have an easy time ordering what I need and receiving it. The staff are very helpful and friendly. This is a good place to order the better quality food that you won’t find in your local supermarket or the typical pet store chains.

When you need Pet food or just basic pet supplies, I highly recommend Whole Pet Central. They carry a wide variety of Pet Food. The staff at the store are extremely knowledgable and most important extremely friendly. As always I will be back soon. Thank you for the outstanding service today.

When I lived in Herndon and Ashburn this is the only place I would go to for my pup. They have excellent customer service and know every answer to any question I may have. Every few months, I change the flavor of his food so he doesn’t get bored, I use Canine Caviar Holistic and they have a great selection, wet and dry food. I recently moved back to my home town of Manassas, and I still go here for my dog’s food. Yeah, I could buy it online from Amazon easily but I enjoy giving my business here. They are great.

This place is my go-​to for raw dog diet. Both my dogs are on K9 Kraving raw diet and their price is very competitive especially when you take advantage of their rewards program. My dog loves visiting there because they always get free quality and tasty treats.:) And the staff is friendly and helpful. I do notice that some of ther products might be a little bit overpriced, but their price for raw food is unbeatable.

Friendly staff and well stocked. Definitely take advantage of the rewards program. It pays off and you dont need to carry coupons or key tags. They track your points for you and offer discounts quite often.

I needed to find bland diet food for my sick dog and happened to be in Herndon for a dentist appointment. I usually go to Wylie Wag which is closer to my house but based on the great reviews I decided to check this place out since it was right around the corner from my dentist.
I am no dog expert but felt like the staff was condescending and not very friendly at all. I explained that my dog had stomach issues and I needed to find wet bland diet food for him, his response «You are going to need to give me more information than just that…» I also inquired about whether they had certain organic treats in stock and the response was always «I don’t think so». He just didn’t seem very knowledgeable or willing to help in any way.
I’ll be staying loyal to Wylie Wag from now on.

I shop this store because it sells my brand of dry cat food-​Taste of the Wild and I have purchased some of their health products for my cats. Friendly staff, lots of stock.

Although this location is about 30 miles away from us, I do love the variety of stuff at this pet store! I stop by whenever I drove through Reston/​Herndon. The staff is very friendly, they know their stuff, and will go out of their way to help you! They carry a variety of the ‘raw’ diet for pets. We feed our pups raw so I have picked up Primal, and now started using K9 Kraving. Their pricing is really competitive so it’s worth shopping here if one is in the area. They also carry a huge assortment of pet treats. They also welcome leashed pets, and parking is fairly easy. There’s also a custard place around the corner.

We really like this place for its collection of hard to find dog food. The manager or owner (don’t know which) of this location is often on-​site and happy to help/​advise which food to purchase based on any ailments or allergies your dog may have. This is one of the few locations in Northern Virginia where you can buy the PetCurean branded dog food — our Westie loves it and it has really helped with her allergies. A great local alternative to buying those hard to find items on Amazon. We are moving soon away from this location and likely will still make our way back to Whole Pet to continue to buy our food if that tells you anything.

Whole Pet Central is my go-​to for all my dog food needs. They carry the brands I want and don’t break the bank. The best part about WPC is the overall customer service. If you have questions, they have answers. If they don’t have the answers, they’ll get them for you or direct you elsewhere.
Upon opening a few years back, I was eager to visit. I had been through so many different brands of food for my dog including prescription food. On my first visit I mentioned my dog’s constant digestive issues. Employees recommended two brands that were worth trying out. I was able to purchase small (read: cheap) sample bags to test. After that I was hooked. My dog no longer has digestive issues and actually enjoys eating her food. With a variety of protein options, I don’t have to worry about her getting bored either. Plus all the food products at WPC are made in the USA.
If you become a regular shopper, I recommend you enroll in the rewards program. After spending xx amount of dollars, you get a $ 10 reward. It may not seem like much but as a frequent shopper, every little bit helps.

They have a good selection of food and toys for my dogs. They’re always nice and helpful!

They are one of the only local carriers of my picky Pomeranian’s choice dry food (Orijen 6 Fish ⁸⁰⁄₂₀). He Also LOVES the Elk sticks by the register ($ 1.79 each). Best treats!

We found this store using Unilocal because it was near the dog park. We went in to buy my dog a coat and booties. The coat was a poor fit because of her large shoulders and tiny waist so we did not get that. The booties were overpriced. Some of the things seemed high but then they carry the greatest selection of treats for dogs! We have a pit rescue and she loves the chicken and duck feet as well as the cow bones. We stocked up for the year! I will get all of my treats there from now on.

I love this store. My dogs are vegan and they special ordered me the food I requested. They know all of their products too. Everyone that works there is really nice.

I am so happy to have found this store. In fact, I love it so much that I created a Unilocal account just to review it.
The employees are excited to help you and are knowledgeable, the selection of high quality food is large, they have free samples of different kinds of food, and the prices are among the cheapest I can find anywhere including the internet. I’m surprised that some of the reviewers say the store is on the pricey side. Sure premium pet food is more expensive in general, but when you compare the same type of food across stores, you really can’t beat their prices.
Whenever I go to the store, I always learn something new about cat nutrition and the different brands of cat food. The staff there has always helped me find new kinds of food/​toys for my kitties, and if they have it, they will send me home with a sample. Some of these samples are huge and enough for 2 – 8 full meals.
I really can’t think of anything else that would make this store better. I absolutely adore this store and highly recommend all pet owners to check it out.

I love this store– they only contain the highest quality pet food, toys and supplies. To find a store like this in Herndon is awesome! I feed my dogs the raw food diet and until this store have always had problems with the frozen patties sticking together. This store has a high-​end freezer system and enough turnover of items so that the frozen food is super-​fresh. I’ve also put my cats on a grain-​free canned food from here that metamorphised my 14yr «grammy cat» to a svelte, sweetie with no more IBD!
The prices are not cheap but this is a case of getting what you pay for. I like how they also always offer to help take my bags out to my car for me too :)

Our old dog — a 14 year old springer spaniel — ran out of his prescription dog food, so we went to Whole Pet Central. The staff listened to the problem and called a vet that they knew to get a recommendation. We walked out of the store with a bag of frozen organic dog food and a free container of raw goat milk to try.
We noticed within a week that our old dog seemed to improve. He had been ravenous, eating and eating without satisfaction — but the new dog food seemed to satisfy him with a smaller amount of food. We were told that the goat’s milk could help him absorb the nutrients better –so maybe that’s why.
We’ve been a regular customer ever of Whole Pet Central since Sept. 2010. We recently learned that the dog food that they recommended rates as a five star dog food at Dogfoodadvisor dot com. We are quite happy to learn from an independent source that their recommendation was spot on and well advised. If you care about your pet, go to Whole Pet Central.
