Just a good, traditional barber shop. Guys who have been cutting hair for a long time and know what they are doing, fish hanging on the wall, a row of old waiting chairs along one wall — the usual, no frills. Cuts are $ 18 now. I just moved to Richmond, and this is now my regular spot. Highly recommended.

I’ve never liked the haircuts I get at the popular chains. This place has personality and I like the décor-someone really likes to fish: p. I always go with Sun, the Korean lady with broken English. She’s off on Wednesdays and I call in advance to make sure she’s there. Sometimes she takes a month off to travel overseas.

One of the harder things for me when moving to a new place is finding a place to get a haircut. Which is silly since I essentially don’t care how my hair looks as long as it’s short in the back and around the ears. For some reason though, going to a new barbershop is something that I dread doing. Thankfully I don’t think I’ll need to find another as long as I’m in Richmond. Fadool’s Barber Shop is exactly the kind of old fashioned and classic style barbershop that their dated Geocities type website details.(But hey, they have a website and it’s at least informative, if not but a little dated.) I went at about 1:00 on a Tuesday and found that all 6 barbers had a customer. I found that some of the patrons waited for their favorite barber, whereas others like myself just took the first available. If you have a preference you can choose between middle aged male barbers, older male barbers, and a couple female barbers. –The Cut: My cut was done by a Korean woman, and I have to say that I think she was the most skilled barber I’ve ever had cut my hair before. She was fast and precise and cut my hair exactly how I liked it based on my short and unhelpful descriptions like«short in the back, off the ears, trim the front». If my life depended on how to accurately describe how I like my hair cut, I’d be dead, but thankfully it doesn’t and she did a fantastic job. –Cost: Basic Haircuts are $ 17, which is a little more than I’m used to from Upstate NY, but about on par with what seems to be the middle ground here in Richmond. I believe they only take cash, but they have an ATM inside. –Atmosphere: The atmosphere itself is pleasant and was filled with waiting chairs, a TV, and I believe even a drink cooler. –Overall: I alluded to it at the beginning, but I fully recommend Fadool’s Barber Shop. There are plenty of barbers there and despite it being seemingly busy, there wasn’t too much of a wait. And it doesn’t hurt that the cut itself was top notch. Can’t recommend them enough.

Good barbershop! They always open on time and have many barbers on staff. The Korean Lady and the older Italian man are the best barbers! It gets busy on Saturday mornings!
