I try and get one or two every time I’m in town, even if it’s to go. The loose dog is great as well. And don’t forget to grab a Vernor’s in a can to round it out. Exactly what a Detroit Coney Island Hot Dog should be… fresh dog… great chili. fresh onions. I’m going to bring some of my homemade hot sauce for him to sample next time, which won’t be too long. And the owner, Neil is just an all around great guy, same goes to his staff, guys and gals. If you like dogs and great service, it’s a must stop when in town.

Outstanding food and the owner is very personable too! It’s going to be so nice having a great place to eat in that area of downtown. I will definitely be back again soon!

Any place with a Detroit like Coney is a great place! They were out of Michigan dogs today so we settled for a Rueben and corned beef sandwiches. They were pretty good. The Rueben needs to get rid of the Russian dressing and get Thousand island if they wish to be Detroit-like. And put the slaw on the meat, not in a dish! They hopefully will get another shipment of dogs from Michigan so i can try the Coneys! Now all they need to be authentic are some Bettermade Potato chips, some Faygo Pop, and maybe some Plochman’s mustard to top it all off with! Their hot dog roller will do for now, but I’m hoping they can get a grill to really cook the dogs right! Loking forward to going here again!
