Although they are known for their expertise with the «black» motors, they have serviced my Johnson and Evinrude since 1997 and before that, my Yamaha. Made all three tackle offshore waters with confidence and reliability. They also professionally installed sonars, radars, radios, bait tanks, batteries for my Wellcraft and Boston Whaler. Family owned business, usually closed on Sundays and Mondays. Very fair, knowledgable and honest. Took my chaparral in to service the outdrive and they pointed out some external surface rust on my u-​joints. Knowing there would only be rust there if water had gotten in, they were concerned about the state of the bearings. They wanted to know if I was hearing any knocking. I told them that I had heard knocking last season before I put the boat away and thought it might be the gimbal bearing. They said the gimbal was fine, and asked how long It had been since the u-​Joints had been replaced. As the original owner, I knew they had never been replaced and the engine has about 250 hours. He gave me the choice to pull them while they were in there and only charge for parts or hold off. BTW, they gave me a deal on the parts by only selling me the ones I needed and not the entire assembly (saving me $ 300). They saved the parts for me and it was pretty obvious the bearings were very worn. I also learned more about my drive, how the u-​joints are spinning whenever the motor is running, not just when in gear. This will dramatically impact the way I operate the boat and reduce wear on the bearings, being careful not to run engine with the drive up farther than normal trim unless I absolutely have to. Will definitely be using them again.
