I went in for a mani/​pedi, something I have not done in years. The woman that helped me was pleasant, but I would recommend that they have someone to actually work the phones/​desk. The woman was trying to give me manicure and the phone rang probably a dozen different times. At one point she finally told one of the other gals to answer it because her hands were a mess from the sugar scrub. I love the scrub, but was surprised and disappointed that they don’t sell it. She did a good job and wasn’t rough like other reviewers experienced. I have long nails, so was a little surprised how short she filed them. Then on to the pedicure. I loved that they have massage chairs, what a nice little extra. Did a really thorough job on my feet. I was very pleased with the service. One reviewer did state that this is a salon, not a spa, which is true, so understand the difference. They don’t have brochures, which I thought was a little odd, but services are listed online. I think their prices are reasonable and it’s an easy location to get to and park at. I was very happy.

The reason I am giving this a 4 is that without a groupon or other coupon (they do everything from groupon, living social to sharing spree), its expensive i.e. $ 40 for a pedicure. I will say they do use Aveda products and it was the first time, I ever had my feet really cleaned and razored by the the lovely Amber. Just watch for specials.
I also had my grays dyed here on a $ 29 special again with Aveda color, it normally would have been $ 45.

Quality poor especially if you use a Groupon. Couldn’t even get an appt.

Holly is the best! Great mani/​pedi. Sometimes it is hard to get an appointment with her so call early. Also, a huge variety of Shellac to choose from.

I just started going for Shellac. My nails were awful before I started going, and now they’re beautiful! They have more Shellac colors than I’ve ever seen at a salon. They also do a paraffin dip and sugar scrub when I get my nails done… for $ 30. Awesome!

I went here for a main-​pedi and I will NEVER go back. When I was making the appointment by phone, there were some scheduling changes that required me to call back and confirm. No big deal, except that when I talked to the staff person I had been talking to earlier, she had no clue that I was a customer and kept referring to a conversation with her kid’s teacher, thinking I was the teacher. I had to call back later and talk to somebody else who wasn’t mixing-​up their personal and work lives.
My manicurist was very rough, despite my pleas that she be more gentle. During the manicure she was extremely distracted, paying more attention to other customers than to what she was doing to my nails. The foot bath was scalding hot and the pedicure was a living nightmare. I have sensitive feet and I told her so, but she paid no mind. I couldn’t wait to get out of there.
This was by far the least pleasurable mani-​pedi I’ve ever had. What a waste of money.

Bought a Groupon for me and my daughter to get manis and pedis. Leetha did both of mine and she is awesome! Love this place. My pedicure looks great and she introduced me to shellac for my nails (a new polish that doesn’t chip or smudge!)

I waited a few days to collect my thoughts before reviewing my «spa» day at this salon. I had a Groupon for a massage, and a Sharing Spree for a gel manicure/​sea spa pedicure. They were very nice in scheduling, and let me use both certificates at the same time to make a nice afternoon of pampering.
First of all, this is a salon, not a spa. They’re in a strip mall next to a Michael’s on 82^nd. So they got a small strike from me for bad ambience.
They only have 4 pedicure chairs, but they’re in a small closed off area from the rest of the salon, so pretty private, that was nice. The technician gave me a great pedicure, really worked at my feet and my polish looks lovely a week later.
She also was my manicurist and did an ok job. I had a nail that was split and I asked her to repair it for me before putting on the gel, she said oh I can glue it for you. I said um, ok. I was expecting a layer of acrylic or something that would bind it together, didn’t get that. A few days after the manicure, sure enough, my broken nail showed through the gel polish. Had to go and have it repaired at another salon, who actually did it right. The gel is even chipping not even a week later, and I know for a fact gel lasts at least 2 weeks from personal experience at another excellent nail salon. So strike two.
Then I had a massage done in a therapy room right across from the hair washing station. Not very relaxing to hear voices right outside the door hooting and hollering over a shampoo. The therapist was good, not outstanding.
I got a killer deal on the certificates, only paid $ 25 total due to sharing credits, with tip, the services were under $ 50. Were they worth $ 50? Sure. Are they worth retail? NO. Will I go back? No. I like my spa experiences in an actual spa with froofy aromatherapy, comfy chairs, fluffy robes, a nice steam room, and a shower.

I went in for a mani/​pedi this week after purchasing the Living Social Deal. I would NOT reccommend this place to anyone. I saw Cindy and she was awful. Rude and unprofessional is putting it kindly. Save your money and do not waste even the $ 30 to go to here.

If I had an option to give no stars, I probably would. The other reviewers that gave one stars are on to something… I had purchase a Groupon and was pretty excited to use it. I called to schedule an appointment to be greeted by someone who mumbled something to which I would like to assume was Pure Elements Salon & Spa so I just went with it and told the lady I wanted to schedule an appointment and asked for next available openings. Let me warn you that her tone was very harsh and it made me feel like I was wasting her time. I called at 6:30 PM and it wasn’t as if I was calling at the last minute of their closing hour either! When I asked about weekend appointments or other weekday times, she went and told me she didn’t have any which made me believe that they were booked out for the month! It was just not a pleasant conversation and I’m not sure what to think at this point. Hopefully they can change my mind when I come in to see them.
Overall, My three minutes on trying to schedule an appointment made me wish I had done a little more research on before hitting the big «BUY» button on the Groupon website.

I first purchased a Shellac Mani/​Pedi on a groupon. I was very impressed with the salon and the nail tech, Letha. She went above and beyone. Also, everyone working in the salon seems very happy and they all seem to work well together! I have since went back several times for Shellac and have also had Holly, who was also great!

Purchased GROUPON for massage and facial. This review is for the facial. I, too, like another reviewer spent more time in the room alone than with the «esthetician». At one point she seemed to have disappeared, I looked around and finally spotted her sitting on a stool texting. I was shocked.
She never covered my eyes, flipped the overhead light on twice. Unbelievable poor service. Cleansed my face with a very abrasive motorized scrubber, then put the steamer on me — this is when she seemingly disappeared and I spotted her over in the corner texting. Then she put a hot towel on me and left the room for 15 – 20 minutes. The towel got cold, so I pulled it off.
She returned, monkeyed around some more and ½ hour into my hour long «treatment» put some cream on me that burned on my face. Then she spritzed me all over and did some acupressure on my temples. Then she massaged my hands and arms (I had just completed a one hour massage in an adjacent room). Then she moisturized my face and applied SPF30 (it was dark outside).
Completely unacceptable service, I will be requesting a refund from Groupon.
The massage I received was fine. Cathy was friendly, appropriate and did a good job.

I purchased a deal through Sharing Spree. I’ve been looking for a good place to get a mani/​pedi and thought there wouldn’t be anything to lose by trying it.
I got the spa mani, pedi, and brow wax. I only paid $ 35 for this with my spree, but without the spree it would have been $ 72. For that price and for the Aveda name attached to it, I was expecting better service.
When I walked in, I was ignored for about 10 minutes. I wasn’t asked if I had an appointment. In fact there wasn’t anybody at the front desk, so it was good that I wasn’t looking to make an appointment.
As for the services rendered:
Pedicure: The pedicure chairs are in the back. I did enjoy the foot soak and the massaging chair. It would be nice if my chair wasn’t so close to the lady next to me. The pedicure itself was relaxing. She did do a scrub and rub my legs. But I noticed that the lady next to me was getting more attention to her rough spots and cuticles than I was. Also the girl that gave me the pedicure didn’t paint the entire nail. It already looks like there was growth!
Manicure: Same deal. She didn’t paint the nail completely. They do look great, as far as neatness but she didn’t try to get to the entire nail painted.
Brow wax: DONT DO IT. I needed to get my brows waxed. I thought she would just clean it up an stick with my eyebrow base like other times I have been waxed. I should have spoke up before she started, but the waxer should at least ask. They are my eyebrows. I now I have eyebrows that are thin and barely there, but with my features I need more brows to balance my face.
Overall, I won’t be going back. If I had received Aveda quality treatment it would be worth the $ 72. But that isn’t what I got. Once I get eyebrows back I plan to continue going to Brow Betty for waxing (a bit more expensive but totally worth it) and go to my local nail salon where it is a lot cheaper for a better job.

Worst massage ever, if you want to call it a massage. Only my back, shoulders & neck were abused. For an hour full body massage you expect your arms and legs to receive attention as well, but not the case. The salon looks under construction, the waiting chair is falling apart, unprofessional dress and demeanor. I can’t say for sure if the «therapist» was trained or licensed as there was no licensed posted (required by law). I have had hundreds of massages and this was by far the worst. I was asked if the pressure was okay and I repeatedly said it was too much, I don’t think she knew different. The coupons are a great savings but not worth the bad product received.

So my 2 girlfriends and I bought the LivingSocial deal (mani/​pedi) for this salon and had to book out several weeks in order to get an appt for all 3 of us to go together. Which was ok, I understand that these deals make them super busy and they do only have 3 pedi chairs. When we got there, however, a manicurist started on one of my friends right away, while my other friend and I sat and waited for at least 15 mins before another nail tech showed up to start mine and ANOTHER 5 – 10 mins before they started on my second friend. The manicure tech was pretty rough and it was actually painful when she was pushing back my cuticles. After that, the pedi was about the same, the tech was rough and the cuticles and foot massage were actually more painful than relaxing. The paint job on both was mediocre, didn’t get all the way to the edges of the nails, and the mani started to chip after less than 2 days.
The kicker, however, was when I removed my toenail polish a couple of weeks after, and found that they had given me a toenail fungus. I’ve never had fungal nails before in my life, and I am really pissed. BOTTOM LINE: Don’t go here. They do not use proper sanitary practices and you will regret it.

Purchased the living social deal, arrived 5 minutes early, but the person doing my service did not arrive for 15 additional minutes. She was nice, but…
Felt like the attention to detail on the nail painting was not there, the painting of the edge was not like I have had my nails at other places, were it will not catch or chip. My nails were chipped the very next day (even the shellac on my hands), I work in an office, am not rough on my nails.
The place is dirty, unfinished back where you get your feet done, sheet rock was missing where pipes were exposed, tops of bottles have hair, dust, and dirt stuck to them.
You get what you pay for, there is a reason they are always running «deals».

I went here to use my livingsocial deal for a mani (shellac) & pedi. It’s a nice salon, they provide wine/​tea/​coffee to you and 2 of their 3 pedi chairs are massage chairs.
We made an appointment weeks in advance, but ended up having to wait a ½ hour before service started — not one staff told us why or that they were running late. We just sat there wondering what was going on. It would have been nice just to me notified what was going on. We got no introductions of names for ladies who did our nails. Additionally, my friend who went with me go sat at the chair that didn’t have the massage on it — not a huge deal, but a bit of a bummer.
My pedi turned out great, but the women who did my nails filed them really short. They weren’t in the best of shape, so I new they’d be shorter than normal but they are shorter than I’ve ever cut them, well below my finger tip. She also cut the top of on of my nails with the file. hurt for a couple days.
I ended up adding a eyebrow wax since I had some time and needed it. Didn’t realize until I got home, but it was awful. Not even at all. My eyebrows have a pretty natural line to them so all one needs to do is clean them up a bit. One is shorter and thinner than the other, luckily I’ve been able to pencil in some to make it look decent. My bad for not looking closely.
I love the shellac look and my pedi came out great but I wouldn’t go back based on all the other issues.

I bought a Living Social deal for this salon. Until this time I had not heard about it. They have some good services. First I paid full price for a facial and massage. The facial I was not happy with at all. They used some sort of european product (which was surprising seeing that it is an Aveda Salon) So if you get a facial, ask for them to use Aveda products.
The person left me alone in the room more than she did the facial. I didnt understand what was going on. but was not happy.
The massage was great however. I cant remember her name but she only works on Sat. And she is fantastic !
The living social deal was for a pedi and mani. These two were great. The girl that did my mani and pedi was good and they give you your monies worth.

Really great service, above and beyond the call of duty.
I went in yesterday with a Livingsocial deal and got a mani/​pedi done. Normally I don’t get manicures because I end up thrashing them ugly within 10 minutes of leaving the salon.
I also had a very ugly nail where I’d crushed my finger, so there was a big divot out of my fingernail. My nail tech made a «falsie» for me out of acrylic so my nails all look normal. Not something I would expect anywhere I’ve had a manicure before.
All-​around great, friendly, fun service.

My mom and I have been going here forever, they have very talented nail technicians and hair stylists. Everyone is very knowledgeable and friendly and you can tell that through the fact that they have consistent regular customers (my mom has had a standing appointment for literally 20 years).
They use all Aveda products and take pride in their services. I drive all the way from Salem to get my hair done here and my stylist will come in on her day off if she can’t fit me in because she knows I travel for it!
