Susan MacInnes, DVM

Like visiting a country doctor-​I pulled in to a truly rural setting, complete with chicken coops, dogs etc. The clinic is in a mobile building, and crammed with vet books.
Susan is a great vet. She knows chickens and had a warm bedside manner with our hen. I’m so glad we cancelled the vet appointment we had in San Francisco and came here instead.
Unlike horror stories of upwelling unnecessary surgery and the like, Susan did none of that. A true animal lover.

Dr. Sue really cares. I brought my chicken in because she wasn’t feeling well and she took care of it. I’ve never met a vet with such amazing care and feeling for animals. She really empathized with me and was able to find a solution. Dr. Sues is a great vet!

Dr. MacInnes’ style of examination and treatment reminds me of one of our family’s best friends growing up, who was a veterinarian. I had my first job there when I was 11 years old. It was an old-​school, hands-​on type of place, where the doctor evaluates the pet and can often tell from experience what is wrong.
That’s how it was with Dr. MacInnes. She examined my cat and was able to decide on the treatment without needing x-​rays or testing. Her bedside manner was personal and she treated my cat with love. She was relaxed and didn’t seem to be in a hurry.
I couldn’t be happier with my visit. I am so glad that my friend recommended her. My cat even liked the Doctor. That was a first!
I’m just elated here. For me, Dr. MacInnes is the holy grail of veterinarians.

Dr. Sue saved my dog’s life. He became lethargic and she diagnosed it right off the bat. She is conservative with your dollars, responsive during off hours in emergencies, and compassionate. So much better than the large chains, I’m grateful she is nearby– but even if we lived ‘over the hill’ I’d still make the drive to get the level of care and value she provides.

We called called this office for a price quote on spaying and were given a quote of «starting at $ 170.» I thought this was a little high, but decided to go with it since Dr. MacInnes had already seen our puppy for her shots. Other clinics I called ranged from $ 75-​$ 200 out the door. When we went to pick up our pup, I was handed a bill for $ 400! Apparently our price quote did not include incidentals. When we called later to talk to someone about the bill and the quote, the office staff claimed that they have never quoted anyone that price, insinuating that we were lying! Needless to say, we will not be returning here again.
