Half Moon Bay RV Park and Campground

Back again, i love this rv park. Better than other places. Some are too expose to the wind and traffic noise and the manager is not rude, not like the others close by and pacifica. I love this one for things that fits for me. The beach access, the doggie park close by with friendly folks. A fun biking distance to main street, fresh sea food and sam’s chowders, friendly fun helpful staff in the office. And many many many beach access! I surf, so this place maybe is not for everyone? Another part i like using hwy 92 to san mateo county for more fun stuff to do and shopping! I used lyft coming home after few drinks on broadway st. Super helpful. Princeton is another neat place to check out for food. And beautiful beautiful trails, Coast and more. Worth coming back.

I can’t say enough good things about this RV park! The location is great — a short walk or run to to beach bluffs! The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. The manager, Lisa, really goes out of her way to make sure everyone is accommodated.
It is a rather newer RV park so they are constantly making upgrades, but the friendliness of the staff and the location more than make up for the dusty road. The «locals» are also super friendly and helpful. It’s also a short walk to Cameron’s pub for karaōke or a few pints!
A short walk out to the cliffs will yield some great sunset views and star-​gazing. The RV park has fire pits so you can stay warm outside by the fire on the cold coastside nights.
I would recommend this to anyone passing through for a warm Half Moon Bay welcome!

I’m a firm believer in you get what you pay for, so when I booked two nights at 86.00 a night sight unseen I expected a pretty nice place.
Boy was I wrong.
The young lady that checked me in was very polite and helpful. That’s the only positive thing I can say.
No grass, no trees. It’s a big dirt lot and it had been raining so your camped in a big mud field.
A LOT of permanent residence with multiple cars with hoods up and people working in them. Several little islands of slums.
Weak to non existent Wifi and no cable, this may seem petty but at almost 100.00 I’m expecting some amenities (cable, pool).
There’s no view and no beach access.
This was my first and will be my last time here.

Lisa is without a doubt the most helpful, kind and courteous manager of any RV park we’ve lived in. She always made sure we were comfortable and promptly attended to any issues we had. She has many years of experience in the RV world, as well as a great spirit and energy. Bear in mind the park is quite new and there are lots of improvements to come. It is a great location and there are miles of gorgeous walking trails where dogs can run off leash… We lived aboard our motor home there for several months in 2015.

We got here on labor day 2015. And were met by day use people making their selves at home at our site with a BBQ going on the stove provided AND use of our table. I was already grumpy from the long drive.
NOT what I wanted to see. The place was mobbed with day use people, and they crowded into the RV area where they are not supposed to be aka my camp site. Also another couple tried to sit at our table later. I was not in the mood for this. especially after paying 50 dollars a night. The bathrooms were unuseable for the same reasons, and were left with mounds of sand in them. I ended up putting a rope up to keep stupid people with no manners from walking across our site right next to our motorhome.
Day 2 proved to be much better as the crowds were gone and just the campers were left. I could finally relax and enjoy the scenic ocean view. And we meet our 2 other parties that had come too so we gathered around and had a good time. The ocean was crashing at night and you could hear the fog horn in the distance. 1 out of the 4 days was foggy so not too bad. BUT MY SUGGESTION IS DO NOT CAMP HERE ON a holiday weekend. You will be sorry.

Pros: Easiest Rv Park to get into on a holiday weekend. Full hookups with 50 amps. Cons: dirt and gravel– very dusty with the current drought. Lots are very unleveled and slightly cramped. No grass areas anywhere. No beach access unless you like a mile walk (one way) with a steep descent. Some sites are right next to highway 1. We weren’t even unhitched when we were approached by a tweaker asking us to buy his girlfriend a drink. Management was there pretty soon and told him to leave, but we have observed other suspicious persons hanging around Cameron’s pub next to the campground.
Bottom line: we will only stay here again if we are desperate for a spot near the coast. This place has a lot of potential to be really nice if it was paved and more secure.

I’m kind of sad that I am giving this place 3 stars. I expected a lot more from it. This isn’t a tent campground, not in the least bit. It is more geared for rvs and trailers, there are a few tent sites, but I wouldn’t tent camp here again. However, the bathrooms are nice, and the laundry is a plus. I’m giving it 3 stars mainly because the people who work here are all very friendly, and helpful. It is too expensive for tent sites. $ 44.00 is too much. Be aware there are residents on the campground, some were friendly, others not so much. There are a lot of pups here, all sizes, and all different breeds. This didn’t bother me because we had our pup with us. Every dog was either on a leash, tied to a lead, or penned up. We didn’t have any issues with the animals.

To much for money for rocks and gravel RV Park. To Many Permanent Residents in an RV Park. Big Dogs not on dog leash. No where to take your dogs to poop. Looks trashy. Not worth the price.

This place is well maintained and a great place to stay for short or long term. We were here with my mom’s fifth wheel but we also stayed outside in the tent. The ground is all gravel or wood chips so it can be a little dusty… The bathrooms have individual toilet/​shower stalls to yourself. They’re clean, but you need to bring your own body wash etc. and there is no where in the bathrooms to put your stuff down (which is always helpful).
Cameron’s inn is adjacent to the park and a great place to grab food and drinks, and to buy some nice British treats.
There is also a great trail down to the beach that takes about 15 mins.

Great location, fun for the kids and adults! Management is very friendly! Cameron’s is steps away to catch sports on TV!

After deciding to take a weekend trip to Santa Cruze, we had soon came to the realization that it was Memorial Day weekend and there were no hotels that were not booked. We were two tired to drive home and the camp site on the ocean was taken so they sent us here.
I called a few times to try to get a hold of the manager and see if there was a place that we could park our car for the night. After a few attempts we finally got ahold of her and she gave us permission to park at the price of $ 40.
This park had a place called the Silver Bullet Lounge so we decided to see what it was all about. We went in and took a look. From the outside, It looked like a big silver trailer and it had a set up to watch movies, dvd’s and a hammock out front.
I would have to admit that for $ 40 the place was not what I was expecting. We were kind of expecting to be able to park our car somewhere close to the beach and be able to take a walk along the ocean that night. This was nit the case at all. It looked as if it were a trailer park for permanent residents. Someone also parked in the space we had paid to pull our car into and there were people walking around all night so we got no sleep.
Next time im just going to reserve a beach side hotel 3 days in advance and save myself the time and trouble. It was at least a good photo op.

We arrived, & I was so sad at how it looked. It looked like mostly permanent trailers. The office had lost our reservation, took over 45 min to figure it all out, & decide there was enough room to let us stay. No free this or let me make it better with that… You get «full hook ups», no cable and the Internet is intermittent. It was nothing to look at thats for sure. You are on gravel, no trees or shrubs divide your space. Each space is so small and packed into the next one. When my slide was out– I looked into the guy behind me’s slide out! My spot lined Hwy 1! Talk about disappointing! All night, through the earplugs, I listened to traffic and sirens. But wait it gets better!!! Fri & Sat there is karaōke @ the bar attached to the RV park! Yep! all night howling behind me! It’s not a
Place to brag about– I typically post pictures and brag about m scenery… NONE! It’s more of a transition park, or a passing thru spot. It’s very expensive!

Great location, loved the sunsets, friendliest people you could meet. Site manager was very helpful. You could not ask for more.

We stayed here the beginning of October. We didn’t make a reservation because we hoped to stay at the other rv park that does first come first serve, but we got off to a late start and didn’t make it in time. That was truly a blessing in disguise because I was super bummed! We drove over to the other Rv park and honestly don’t know how they squeeze them in there! They’re so uncomfortably close together! I’d rather not have that view and take the extra space instead!
Lisa was super nice and welcoming! We could only book one night, which was a Thursday, and Friday they ended up putting us in their emergency space because they were completely booked. We were so happy they were able to accommodate us on Friday, we didn’t want to go anywhere else. My only complaint is the first night we were parked near the restaurant/​pub and we could hear the karaōke music and loud people late in the night, even over our sound machine for our baby. Other than that this place was great!

Friendly place and an alternative to HMB State Park, closed this winter (²⁰¹⁴⁄₁₅) for updates. We were assured that our site would have a strong wifi signal, and maybe it does, but it is agonizingly slow. You are better off going to the town’s Starbuck’s or McD’s if you need to be on the internet, and come to the campground for semi-​quiet sleep.

Well… How do I start? Hmmmm let me just get to the point. It’s Thanksgiving Day and I come to camp here for the first time, as I am backing up my camper, I hit the water pipe/​post and broke it. Water is going everywhere… I freak out and go grab Lisa (manager) she as calm as can be starts to handle business. Lisa had to shut everyone’s water off and before I know it, there six people helping me out and trying to fix the problem. As I was standing there she told me they have everything covered and go enjoy your camping in Half Moon Bay.
I am happy I chose this RV park to spend our annual family Thanksgiving. Thanks Lisa for all your help and giving me a great experience… I am also sorry about this dumb mistake I made on Thanksgiving.

Dust bowl. Too far from the beach. Bathrooms are nice but this will be our first and last.

We were excited to find about a half-​dozen spotlessly clean private bathrooms, each with its own awesome, hot shower (no additional cost to shower, yay!)
I rated this campground at four instead of five stars because the electrical hook-​ups for the electric-​only spaces are 15 amps, not 30 amps as advertised. Also, the way the hook-​up stations are built means that it is difficult or impossible to plug in your power if the RV next to you is also plugged in due inadequate space between the outlets.
Pricey @ $ 68/​night, but reasonable for the area. 24-​hour check-​in, too, though check out is at noon, which means that our check-​in at 1 AM was a kick in the wallet. Wish we could’ve afforded a longer stay at this extremely clean and welcoming place!

This RV park has only been open a few months. It has some nice sites with full hookups 30amp and 50amp. Sites were all very large with plenty of room. Since the park is new, the landscaping is the only thing lacking (hence the 4 stars).
Kimiko (office manager) was super friendly and very helpful.
I highly recommend.
