Maui Ocean Breezes

We had such a special time when we stayed at Maui Ocean Breezes. The property is so perfect and peaceful, and our baby girl loved playing in the salt water pool and on the property! The views are lovely and the rooms are bright and uplifting, and it was just the perfect size for us as a family of 3. I even was able to get in some yoga in the yoga and meditation hut, which was awesome for this new mama! We definitely plan to return! They took great care of us and were very accommodating to our needs, especially with a baby. I can’t recommend this place enough!

We stayed here for five days, and I have to agree with the glowing reviews. The place is quiet, well kept and offers tremendous views. I had a question with the owner and they responded immediately. And the caretaker was nice and responsive as well. If you are looking for bars and nightlife you can walk to, don’t come here. But if you want a quiet and beautiful place to stay that is an easy half hour drive from the airport, I would recommend this property.

For me it was the QUIETNESS of the place, no AC, no planes, no traffic noise. It was also DARK at night, so the stars were AWESOME. Oh my and the natural BREEZES, we had the windows open the entire two weeks.

There are not enough good words that can be said about this place! Alex, the care taker, is very friendly and greeted us with coconuts and other fresh fruit that were picked from the land. Gorgeous ocean views, we stayed in the Ocean Breeze Apartment and what a spacious, relaxing, world forgetting place. Free high-​speed WiFi (we streamed HD from Netflix). The salt water pool is perfect and relaxing with a little waterfall.

We loved this place!
Only a few miles east of Pa’ia, we expected it to be far from everything. But we found it very easy to get started onto the Road to Hana early, ahead of the crowds. Grocery stores are easily accessible in the town of Haiku, Makawoa and Pa’ia (Mana Foods!!).
The north-​facing, sweeping lawn slopes downward, allowing a lovely view of fruit trees and other lush green foliage, and the brilliantly blue ocean in the distance. We never tired of the views.
Maui Ocean Breezes became a retreat for us. At dawn, I used the yoga hut for sunrise meditation. We ventured out early each morning, and usually came back here in the afternoon to swim in the saltwater pool, rinse under the outdoor shower, relax, nap and plan/​prep, or change to go out to, dinner in nearby Pa’ia (Dazoo, Rock and Brews, Paia Fish Market).
The retreat is the most modern of all the units and could comfortably sleep 3 – 4 people. Large windows on all sides provide views of the mountains and the sea. The open kitchen was well equipped, however some of the appliances could have been more thoroughly cleaned. We used the grill, with charcoal and kiawe wood chips and enjoyed the luscious fresh bananas and papayas provided by our caretaker, Alex, a helpful young man transplanted from Pennsylvania. The bed was comfortable and the closets sufficient. We loved the natural furniture and ample seating. In addition to two couches, large square meditation cushions were stacked in the front room, and with the cross breezes, proved to be an excellent mound on which to nap in the sun and breeze, like a cat.
When we departed for Kihea for the second half of our trip, we seriously considered if we could return to this expansive and serene setting, if we didn’t like the busy-​ness of the more touristy West Maui area. We can’t wait to go back, and next time we’ll bring the whole extended family.

Amazing place. A wonderful place to rest and connect. Amazing views, lovely grounds, beautiful interiors. We stayed here for our honeymoon and it served as a delightful home base as we explored the island. Highly recommended.

I stayed here for a girls weekend getaway and had a great time! The location was close enough to places we wanted to visit around Maui but far enough away so we could relax. There are some beautiful views of the ocean and everyone on staff is very friendly. I highly recommend this B&B.

My wife and I recently stayed at Maui Ocean Breezes for our honeymoon and we couldn’t have asked for a better stay. The location and style of the place was perfect for us and our host, Anjali, was incredibly kind an accommodating. Over the course of our stay she brought us fruits and fresh coconut from the property and met us each time with a smile and a demeanor that just made you feel happy and relaxed.
We had originally booked the studio apartment because the 1-​bedroom apartment was taken, but upon arrival we were upgraded to the apartment at no additional cost due to a cancellation. We were welcomed with strawberries and beautiful little apartment ready for a week’s stay. There were laminated information sheets that gave us basic information of the place and property, some nearby sights and other necessary information.
Now it should be known that if you’re looking for a resort-​style stay, then this might not be for you. There’s not a massage parlor or a maid to come and turn down your bed at night. But this is exactly why we chose this type of rental and it didn’t disappoint. The property is gorgeous, peaceful and close enough to sights and must-​see Maui locations that it makes a perfect launch pad for your visit. Getting in and out is easy as opposed to parking at the resorts which can be tedious.
It’s only a few miles from the 0 mile marker for the Hana Highway, so it’s easy to get ahead of the crowd for the slow and scenic drive. There are great places to eat in Haiku and nearby Paia (a great town that should not be missed). The Haleakala summit, Kihei, Iao Valley, Mama’s Fish House, Lahaina — among other places — all were within an hour drive (give or take, traffic permitting).
What you will really appreciate about the property is coming back to it after a long day of sun-​drenched beaches or hiking along waterfall-​fed streams. There’s no hustle and bustle of tourists, doormen or valets, just a quiet and peaceful place to return to and relax. You’ll wake up feeling rejuvenated and ready for the next day’s activities. Or, if no activity is your agenda, the saltwater pool — untreated by harsh chemicals — makes an excellent place to relax.
I really can’t recommend the place enough for the style of stay we were looking for. I felt less like a visitor to Maui, but rather like I got to feel like I lived there for a few days. So if you’re looking for a great Maui experience but the massive resorts aren’t your thing, I highly recommend Maui Ocean Breezes as a place to stay and relax. It’s fun, gorgeous and owned by wonderful people that will make you feel far more welcome to the island than a cheap lei at the airport.

We spent an amazing week here and are already plotting to come back. Anjali was friendly and sweet and very accommodating of our eighteen-​month-​old daughter. We ventured out every day to explore Maui and were thrilled that we got to come home to this peaceful place.
