Yosemite Pines RV Resort

We camped in an RV, our site was up on a hill which was tough to walk to and from the pool with the kids. The campground is also pretty rustic looking with almost no landscaping. The pool is not heated and there is no spa. It is conveniently located 45 min from Yosemite, which probably the positive aspect. WiFi access was pretty horrible and there is no cell coverage which makes it impossible to keep in touch with loved ones. We probably won’t be coming back again.

We just spent the last 3 nights at this place. We decided to rent an RV for the first time ever & head to Yosemite. We were traveling with several toddlers so for us the petting zoo & the panning for gold seemed like it would be fun for the kids! We arrived in the evening the first night, after store hours & it was dark. We parked & slept. The next day we ventured to check out the petting zoo, however, we were told that it’s actually ONLY open from 8;30−9:30 am when someone feeds them. There are pretty large holes in the fence, we were able to see the animals no problem. We went to pan for gold, however the water was pretty filthy, and had become home to millions of tad poles, the kids enjoyed watching them swim. We hung out on the playground some. The pool was closed, it was too chlly to go in anyway. One of the housekeepers did tell me that things open up Memorial day weekend. When I asked about the shuttle to Yosemite, she said that didn’t pick up until later in May as well. The 2 nights we got to enjoy we had music going, the kids were playing, etc. We never got any complaints or anything, we did have the music off at 10pm, once the noise ordinance kicked in. Overall, we had a blast. Driving to Yosemite from here was about 20 minutes, however it was another 20 – 25 mins to Yosemite Valley from the maingate, just an FYI. We’d come again!

We loved this place! We rented a standard cabin and it was everything we could ever need. They included everything… it was like staying in a hotel. There are llamas and goats and they let you into their pen to pet them. They are very sweet and friendly animals. All of the people working their are nice and helpful. Groveland is a couple of miles down the street and there is a nice market and lots of restaurants. The TV didn’t really get any channels because the signal was scrambled but the internet was free and fast. We didn’t go there to watch TV so we didn’t mind. My husband and kids had a wonderful time.

It worked well for me. WiFi was pretty good, though perhaps that was due to staying here mid week. The petting zoo is cute. Bathrooms were in good shape. There’s a fresh coat of paint on things near the deli. All in all, pretty good.

Me and the roommate just wanted a weekend getaway to Yosemite a few hours from where we live, she found Yosemite Pines online and we booked a yurt to stay in. I had no idea what a yurt was so it was quite a surprise. Overall I had a positive experience for what a yurt can offer, the beds were very comfy and came equipped with linens and a blanket. I figured there wouldn’t be any kind of electrical heating (I was right, but was pleased to find there are electrical outlets with a fridge and microwave) but my friend said traditional yurts have a fire pit or wood stove to keep warm, this had neither, so we had no less than 5 layers of linens/​blankets, plus slept in a sweater and wool sweatpants to deal with the 40ish nightly temps. The facilities themselves were average for camping, the shower had plenty of hot water but wasn’t the cleanest or most sanitary I’d been to, the petting zoo is cute, and they have chickens who wander. Overall I would stay here again due to the convenience to Yosemite, not for much else.

We are in our last night, night number 5:) it has been a great trip. We have a family of 6 staying in luxury cabin number 1. It is very cozy and cute. With 3 teenagers, 2 adults and a 4 year old. The only complaint I have from everyone is squeaky uncomfortable beds and not enough comfy places to sit in the living room area. What a unique little place with an awesome petting zoo:)

I booked a reservation for my boyfriend for his birthday and when i booked the reservation the weather said it was going to be nice. as it got closer (4 days before we go) the weather says it is going to storm all 3 days… isn’t Yosemite suppose to be an outdoor vacation? why spend your vacation stuck inside while it rains… waste of money to even go. So i cancel my reservation 4 days before our vacation and they charge me a 1 day fee. it was my first time ever going, i wanted to spend my money on a wonderful sunny vacation not stuck in a cabin. After i realized i was going to be charged that much (10 minutes after cancelling) i tried to re book with them and they won’t reverse that charge… HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY WILL NOT WORK WITH YOU. SPEND MORE GET BETTER SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Great place, friendly staff, we also got greeted by the friendly property kitties which made our day when we arrived. Very close to food and stores in Groveland. The cabins are nice and clean. And the beds are comfy.

I bought Living Social special second time. First time our experience was ok — warm small cabin with shower and toilet. When I booked it second time, of course, I expected to get similar experience.
So, what we‘ve got this time:
–nasty cold cabin
–no toilet and shower in the cabin — you have to walk a few minutes to the public restroom — old, dirty, with missing locks on the doors
–no towels — nobody told us during the reservation that we have to bring our own towels etc — I would never book a place without toilet/​shower
— the only available heater in cabin was so loud that we could not use it
After a sleepless night in the cold cabin with a weird smell we left it at 6 am and never came back again (even though we paid for two nights).
Thanks to this place for a ruined weekend!
Also, good to know that their office has mysterious working hours — it‘s not posted on the door. So, if you are super disappointed when you just arrived, there are nobody available to talk with.
I feel cheated and want to get $ 139 back. It‘s lot for two night with zero comfort.

Awesome camping grounds, they have a petting zoo, pool and store with the essentials, located only a couple miles or so from town, great for kids, each site has outlets and a small light and the best part, you can actually see stars at night (thats city folk talk)

We booked this place so that our son could go to the «gold mine» and «pan for gold» neither of which happened. When we got there, the mine was closed and the panning for gold system was a homemade contraption filled with really dirty water. That was so disappointing. He did enjoy the petting zoo though. Our cabin was cute and clean. The couch bed was really old and torn and not too comfortable and our bed was loud and creaky, but a good place to sleep after a long hike in Yosemite. The plus was the stove and full size refrigerator. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cooking utensils. The other problem was that they gave us four towels for the week and one roll of toilet paper. They only do housekeeping, once per week. So we each had to share towels which is ok, but not ok when you pay so much for a place.
I would recommend that you make sure and take all the food you want to because the little store is very expensive. For example, one box of Honeymade Gram Crackers was $ 8.00 They also sell charcoal briquettes for the little bbq pit which they told me wouldn’t be at the site (so I didn’t take my own) and there was one at each site. But don’t buy them there, too expensive! The pool was good. The man who closes the pool is very cranky. However, we found the staff upon check in very kind.
Overall, this was a good place. They should stop promoting it as a fun gold mine experience. For the money, I did expect a little more.

This is a wonderful resort! We had our family reunion here July 2015 with 79 guest. With 8 fully clean and equipped cabins, 3 pull thru RV sites and 7 back in RV sites. The staff was so very helpful in assisting us in providing a rental pavilion where for three days we where able to gather together. They had all kind of activities for family to enjoy on Saturday. The kids loved the Hay rides, petting zoo, movie and the refreshing pool. The adults enjoyed horseshoe’s and line dancing. This was the third time visiting Yosemite Pines RV Resort and I know it will not be our last we love it. We would recommend it to anyone. From the Ritchie family to the entire resort stuff, your outstanding, thank you!

Overall our camping trip was fun

This place has so much potential and I truly came here looking to find the best in it. We recently had the crazy idea of booking an RV spot anywhere Northern California only a few days before the 4^th of July. I was happy/​surprised to see that Yosemite Pines RV had openings. I booked 3 nights and started to look forward to our trip.
We got to the place and checked in and was guided to our spot. It was a little tight, but flat none the less. The hookups were easily accessible, but the cable was pretty much non-​existent. We got 11 channels and all were very staticy. Our TV stated that they were analog!
Ok on to the good points.
1. The pool was nice, a little murky but clean.
2. The petting zoo was cool, but not so much a petting zoo but more of an open part in the fence.
3. The hay ride was nice for the kids
4. They had plenty of activities all weekend.
5. Bus near by that will take you to Yosemite Valley for a fee.
Bad points.
1. Gold mine was closed and looked like it had been for a while.
2. Panning for gold was nasty water I wouldn’t let my son anywhere near that thing.
3. Bath rooms were terrible.
4. Impossible to get into town unless you had a car. The hills are terrible, but not necessarily the fault of the camp .
The next complaint is huge.
For all the reviews that complain about the help, they are all correct. This place is ran by senior citizen retiree full timers.
When we checked in the lady that helped us was very friendly and helpful, but when she told us our site, she mentioned that we were neighbors and we better keep it down, we laughed and chuckled it up with her thinking she was kidding.
Well the next day we met her husband that told the wife and kids that he was our neighbor and we better keep it down.
OK let me clarify this, we had a dog that never barked, we have 2 sixteen year old kids that never made a peep and we were in bed every night by 9:30 or 10. We were never loud. Just the fact that people kept telling us to watch ourselves and don’t get loud put a damper on things.
All weekend I saw these prison guards ride their golf carts telling people to stop doing this and stop doing that.
Ok well since we are calling people out, lets talk about the state of the full timers sites!!! The one next to us had cable all over the place, a huge satellite dish next to us, and most of the full timer/​employees had towels hanging up somewhere or junk in their area. We were supposed to be camping but when quietly ate our meals outside we saw all of his cable hanging in trees and on the ground. Maybe instead of bitching at everyone they should clean up their own spot and maybe clean the rest room.
I don’t think I would ever want to come here again and its too bad because this place looks like it could be a nice stop.

**This is a review on our experience staying in the tent camping area**
About a few months ago, I confirmed with a friend and her group to meet up with them for a weekend trip to Yosemite. I was told that their campsite, Pine Glen campgrounds, was located just outside the park. A week before the trip, I casually looked up the location and found out that it was 2hr 40 min. away from the village! Coming from Santa Rosa, that would be an insane amount of driving on a Friday afternoon going to Mammoth Lakes, driving couple of hours just to get in/​out of the park, and then driving another 8 hours back home. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. So, booking this place was last minute.
Every other campground was full, the reserved ones, and the first-​come-​first-​serve sites were out of the question because we didn’t want to risk not having a spot. The next best thing was Yosemite Pines RV Resort.
AWESOME — they had tons of space available for tent-​only sites. It’s a pretty big place nicely laid out and perfect for families. They have a small little petting zoo, pool, hay ride for the little ones, panning for gold area, small deli, general store, and other events happening every night. You have the option of staying in your RV or cabin, renting a yurt, or camping at a tent site. From the looks of it, the yurts are SMALL. Our campsite was far away from all the other RV/​cabin/​yurt sites, so it was nice to have a more quiet area.
Front desk staff is friendly.
Check-​in was fast and easy.
Bathrooms had warm showers — what?! Such a luxury for camping. (and no they’re not coin operated)
You can do laundry if you want, and I think that is coin operated.
Wi-​fi was pretty much nonexistent, but we didn’t mind because we’re outdoors.
No bears around, apparently. They didn’t have any bear lockers around.
I recommend staying here if you’re looking for a place last minute near Yosemite. It’s about an hour drive into the village, not to the kiosk entrance.

My husband and I are checking out tomorrow from our stay here at the Pines. We have truly enjoyed our stay with our infant daughter and dog in one of the premium cabins. Our cabin had a well stocked kitchen with pots/​pans/​cookware/​dishes. I loved the propane stove and the cute little porch with a nice outdoor table and chairs. I only have a few complaints and one major one.
Major Complaint: the bed in our cabin was AWFUL! Every time you got up to use the restroom, or change sleeping positions, or took a deep breath for that matter, the bed creaked HORRIBLY! It was so noisy it would wake our infant daughter who was sleeping in her pack in the play in the living room multiple times. Needless to say, sleeping was the only thing that sucked during this trip. My husband is military and is used to having to sleep anywhere but even he couldn’t deal with the uncomfortable bed :(
2^nd: Our cabin was pretty clean to the naked eye but I did notice that the fixtures (fan blades, light covers, curtains, ceiling corners) were very dusty and had cobwebs in the corners, and you could see the dust and dirt behind and around furniture that has been missed by regular cleaning. But the bathroom and kitchen was very clean.
3^rd: The couch in our cabin was pretty funky, I grew up with horses and the smell of the couch kind of reminded me of a worn saddle pad…
Last Complaint: We arrived 3 hours early for check in, it was a very hot day and a long day of driving for us. When I arrived at the office carrying my crying infant, the older lady that greeted me told me we couldn’t check in until three and that was it. She didn’t offer for us to make ourselves comfortable poolside or to check out the deli if we were hungry. I thought a bit of a friendlier and accommodating welcome would have been nice.
All in all, this place is affordable for a young family on a budget, but this is campground good 25 minute drive to the gate of Yosemite… so an hour to Yosemite Valley. Very quiet in the evening during our stay. Pool looked nice for the kiddos. WiFi worked decently.

Really really enjoyed staying here. They have everything including clean bathrooms with showers! Wifi too! I was Instagram deprived before coming to this site lol I got so excited when I realized there was wifi lol petting zoo was a pleasant surprise too! Staffs were really friendly. Next time I’m taking my dog and parents here!

You can’t beat a two night stay for $ 159. That’s the Groupon I purchased and it was worth every penny.
At first glance it wasn’t much. There are about 10 yurts and maybe 15 or so cabins. The rest of the area is for RV trailers and tent campers. The woman in the front office was very friendly (and when I made the reservation on the phone after I purchased the Groupon I was told to bring a printed copy).
My family of 4 stayed in the premium cabin and it was a bit of a tight fit. There is one bedroom and a pullout couch in the living room/​tv room. My children are older (10 and 12) but able to adjust. The cabins are trailers, I can see a hitch underneath it, so they are not built from the ground up. But upon entering I was very pleased. Everything was in order and clean. When they say fully furnished kitchen they mean it– dishes, silverware, glassware, mixing bowls, baking pan, pots, pans, knives, serve ware, a toaster, ice trays in the freezer, dish towels, sponge and soap.
It was pretty empty during our stay so we walked around the grounds and on the trails that went around the perimeter of the resort. Not much to do on the grounds itself (small petting zoo enclosure that the kids loved, pool was closed for the season, playground was wet from rain) and we only stayed in our cabin, didn’t travel to any surrounding areas. We did grab a pizza from Two Guys Pizza Pies and went to the grocery store next to it. It was a small little grocery store but carries a little bit of everything. Nice scenery from our balcony. Perfect mini vacay to get some quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of our busy lives. Enjoyed my stay very much and looking forward to coming back soon. Thinking about doing Thanksgiving here this year.
