This is a fantastic campground. Absolutely beautiful, and all our fellow campers were very respectful. This seems to be a place many families return to year after year! The creek is fantastic for swimming! And, lots of beautiful trees for shade. There’s a boat launch, fuel and restaurant/supply store within 3 miles. The only problem was the yellow jackets! They weren’t aggressive, but rather annoying b/c there were SO many. They«welcomed» us to our campsite! By 6am they’re buzzing and they don’t go to bed until long after sunset! This makes it very difficult to enjoy your breakfast, lunch or early dinner. We will try this spot later in the fall when the weather cools. This would be a fabulous campsite for an RV or 5th wheel that you could cook inside of.

This small campground(11 spots) is well maintained and the toilets(vault, not flush) are clean. The manager, a very nice guy, lives on the property and can help quite down rowdy campers or prevent any disasters. Most of the campsites have shade and the ground is great to sleep on. Fire pits with a grill rack on each site for easy grilling. Furthermore, the campsites are fairly spacious. The price $ 17 a night. Best of all, running drinking/cooking water. Why stay here? It’s a busy summer in yosemite and you have no campsite reservations. All the sites in yosemite fill up early morning. Then, this is your best bet at the closest location. It’s the same distance from the valley as even the closest meadow first come first serve sites, and it has running water, and is more likely to have a spot free around noon or later.
