Bishops Cuts and Colors

Got a haircut June 10^th. I asked for skin on the sides with a high fade. She right away went all the way up my left side with the clippers. I’m not a stylist I instantly this was a big mistake. I ended up with a straight cut all the way up one side, and my right side had a fade. I got up from the the chair waiting for the manager or someone else to say hold on we can’t let you walk out the door like that. Instead I got no eye contact and almost a OMG is he going to say anything about that. I was so embarrassed I paid and left to go to rudys. To fix what they could of the screw job this stylist did. To get to the point if your in Gresham and you want a modern haircut make sure you do some research if you can on the place a head of time. I went to rudys on 30^th and division. They told me I look like I got two different haircuts a fade on my right side and a straight all the way up buzz on my left side. This was my last straw at this place been there 4 – 5 times 2 for a buzz can’t screw that up the other times were all screw ups. Thank god I didn’t have a beer. I might’ve lost it in there if I did. I know I should’ve said something but I said a high fade I just didn’t know I needed to say on my both my left and right side.

I have been going there for years, but now I refuse to. The employee turn over is extremely high, and they can never get is right anymore.

I’ve been taking my whole family here for years. I’ve always had a great experience until Super Bowl Sunday. I took my son and young daughter in to cut a short cut and a bang trim. We decided to wait the 30 – 45 mins. My sons hair turned out great, he was not happy about getting his haircut and the stylists was very kind to him anyway and she did a great job cutting his hair. My daughter was next on the list. As each stylists became available, I observed them walk to the list, read it, look at us and then they would disappear or make themselves too busy to call her name. It was obvious they did not want to trim her bangs, so they stayed busy until the next person became available. It was an easy quick bang trim on a 5 yr old. I don’t know if they were intimidated by a straight line or if they did not want to take a low $ trim and pass up a large $ cut, but the entire place cleared of stylists until there was only one left who was forced to call her name. I asked her to cut about a ½ in or less above the eyebrow. She cut an uneven line all the way up to the hairline. Most people trim a little at a time so there is room for error fixing and we move up the forehead to a length that works. This woman chopped it so short that as she was trying to even it out it was ridiculously short so I just said they were perfect like that, I tipped both stylists and we left. I’m not mad at the woman who chopped off my daughters bangs. I won’t let her do it again and I wouldn’t recommend anyone getting a bang trim from her but she was polite and very nice to my daughter. Mistakes happen. I’m more offended and upset by the other stylists that avoided us and pretended to be to busy to trim her bangs. I was embarrassed as a customer. There is no way everyone had a lunch break at the same time. It was obvious we were being avoided. I’ve spent hundreds of dollars at this location and had any of the original stylists been there we would have been treated like family as always. This time I felt very out of place and I wish I wouldn’t have gone in. I’m debating whether we will go back. There are plenty of places to get a haircut. I don’t want to pay to be treated like that again.

I took my 12 year old son here for a haircut and he did like the cut but they tried to charge me $ 26! When I brought it to her attention that she only buzzed the sides, and that their website says that costs $ 13, she only then lowered it to$ 18 because she did «some blending»…which I did not ask for. She was nice but $ 18 for a partial buzz… for a kid? Way over priced. I then inquired about purple color on the ends my 9 year old daughters hair. She quoted me $ 110!!! Wth? I paid $ 100 for mine… full weave… 3 different colors with a cut. Who do they think they are? There are better places out there.

Great place for a clean cut! My son and I got a clean Pompadour cut with hard parts that came out really nice! They stylist take their time so this definitely isn’t the place if your in a rush.

If you want a long wait and inexperienced barbers then this is the place. First and last time going. All I asked was for a buzz; just a 1 around the sides.
I came home to find out that she didn’t completely get everything and that she buzzed into the front of my hair line. Now my hairs not even and I got a jacked up hair line.

Just got my haircut by Lucy! She not only has a great name, but also did a great job cutting my hair exactly the way I wanted it. The atmosphere in the shop is super cool and relaxed, and they even offer beer during your cut. I will definitely be back next time I’m in town.

Nothing like a Sessions beer and a haircut!

My son came home from a weekend away with a «do it yourself» haircut and I thought there was nothing that could save it. I took him in and the girl that helped us was amazing. She wasn’t just skilled with hair but she was able to work with my son and keep him relaxed and happy. cutting the hair of a 6 year old is no easy task.
While we were there I went ahead and got my daughter’s hair done as well. She got her Mohawk updated and styled including some spray in color and it made her day.
This was the most positive experience we have had with my 6 and 7 years old kids. They are on the alternative side when it comes to their hair so they have had a hard time getting exactly what they want at other establishments.
This was a great place even for kids. I would definitely recommend it to other parents!

There have been very few times where I’ve enjoyed my time at a barbor shop, but at Bishop’s cuts and colors not only did I leave with an awesome hair cut my time spent there was equally as awesome.
The welcoming into the shop was genuine with happy employees and a complimentary cold beer, something I’ve never experienced. My stylist was knowledgeable, asking several questions and lending many suggestions in order to provide a perfect haircut.
Next time I’m in Greshem I’ll definitely be stopping by for a quick buzz, in more ways than one.

I walked into the Gresham Bishop’s last November and asked to get a buzz cut as my hair was due to fall out within two weeks from the chemotherapy treatments I had started.
I cannot now remember who waited on me, but rather than just buzz it and get on, she took the time to design a very, very short cut that looked good for me. She cared enough to try and make me look good even for a very short time. She hugged me and made me feel good about myself. What else could anyone ask for? What service, what caring! Bishop’s has several really good reviews that are filtered, and I don’t understand why, but please give them a try. I was very happy with them … and will go back when I have hair again.

This place is amazing. Every time they provide one of the best haircuts I’ve had. Staff is friendly, engaging, and the shop has a great atmosphere. Definitely the best place in East County!

The staff is very friendly and so far since getting my hair cut and bangs trimmed multiple times here, I love it. Aundi does a great job.

Stopped by Bishop’s in Gresham while visiting my family. Tara (stylist) cut my hair and did an excellent job! Plus I was served a Miller High Life while waiting… not the best brew, but a pretty cool experience!
I will definitely check out Bishop’s again the next time I am in Oregon.

***In response to Sean, everyone is entitled an option – especially after getting a bad hair cut. However, it doesn’t give you the right to attack me on F’n Unilocal.Nowhere did I criticize the people of Gresham-​but maybe the people of Dress Barn, so don’t make assumptions or put words in my mouth. My point was that Bishops seems out of place in Gresham and I should have made the drive to the Hawthorne location. And by the way, my damn bangs are still up in a bobby pin.
You get what you pay for… an ice cold beer and crooked bangs. I’m pretty sure the idea behind the beer is to get you buzzed up so you don’t notice what’s happening to your hair. I wanted to love this place since I used to frequent the Hawthorne location, but I won’t be returning. I’ll also be wearing my bangs up in a bobby pin for a couple of weeks.
I can’t help but wonder what it says about this Portland hipster buisness that decided to set up a shop in snooze-​ville Gresham Station nuzzled between a Red Robin and a Dress Barn. Not sexy at all.

I have nothing but a good experience here. I am picky, very picky, in fact. I felt heard, and they did a good job.

I had an awesome experience at Bishops in Gresham. I am pretty particular about how I like my hair, and I got exactly what I wanted. I will definitely be going back for my next haircut.
