Manager

Anderson Alvarado is a Black Belt in Traditional Japanese Karate-​Do Shito Ryu. He also has practiced in various Martial Arts styles including but not limited to Kickboxing, Mixed Martial Arts, and Boxing. Anderson is the proud co-​founder and chief instructor of GMA Mixed Martial Arts and Kickboxing in Great Neck, NY.

Our staff here in Great Neck, NY has the confidence and belief that anyone can succeed in any of our programs while having a lot of fun doing so. Students will achieve many different skills and techniques and will feel a sense of accomplishment. ILKB-​Great Neck is an awesome place to workout because of its positive environment. The instructors there were trained by the best so the members would get the best workouts possible. The staff there are friendly and are more than happy to help you if you have difficulty executing the combos demonstrated in class. I recommend this to anyone who lives near the area to try it out! Maji is a sweetheart! She is definitely one of the best out there! Speak to her!

ILKB-​Great Neck is the most amazing experience beginning from the location to the cleanliness, to the atmosphere down to the staff. The hour is intense but so much fun and the results are amazing. The staff is the best ever. Maurice and Maji don’t forget or neglect anyone and make you feel like family. I took 2 classes in 2 days because I feel in love with the experience. If you want to lose weight and tone your body and prove to yourself that you can while having fun go to Great Neck ILKB.

I first joined because a friend told me this location was great. After joining I completely agree, they take the time to help you learn technique and to make sure you do not hurt yourself. Every work out is different which helps with your body not getting use to the workouts. They make sure that you sweat and get a full body workout every time.

Kickboxing classes at ILKB has given me a whole new perspective on kickboxing as a workout. The classes are tough but the results are amazing if you follow what the instructors tell you to do and stick with it. Anderson and co. are very knowledgeable and great motivators and can definitely help you take your fitness to the next level.
Many who join are newbies to kickboxing, as was I a couple of months ago, but those who stick around will easily be the envy of all of their friends come time for vacation, beach season, pool etc. I would highly recommend ILKB Great Neck for anyone looking for a high intensity, fun, and challenging workout.

I first signed up with one of their promo deals which was cheaper than signing up for a gym membership. I got 3 classes and free gloves for 20 bucks and after my first class I signed up for four monthss because I fell in love.
The classes are upbeat and the music is great and the instructors are always prohealth lifestyle, if not a little too enthusiastic about being healthy… either way the instructors are always down to give you free advice abt workouts you can do at home and how to eat better.
The reason I gave this place four stars instead of five is because of a few things. Only street parking is available so if theres a big group coming for a class session you want to get here early or you’re probably going to be walking a little to class. Also if you dont like working out with a big group it takes a while to figure out which classes are smaller and u may not like the classes. But all in all everyone is pretty supportive and have the same goal of getting more healthy.

Great place for a workout! Sensei’s are very motivating and get to know you on a personal level. Always pushing you to keep going, and of course rule numbers 1, 2 and 3, always keep your hands up! Definitely recommend this for anyone wanting to get in shape, loose weight (lots of weight) or just have a good time working out!

I tried kickboxing here because my friends signed up and said they loved it. After my first class I was hooked! The instructors are great and make the workout fun. The hour flies by and the workout is amazing. I would recommend this to anyone regardless of fitness ability.

LITTLE NECK, NY
I have been to other I love kickboxing locations and this one is my favorite. The instructors and helpful and supportive. I am trying to lose weight and they push me to keep coming back! Usually when I go into gyms I get discouraged because I am not in perfect «model» shape, but not here. They accept everyone and give support and assistance to all of their members. The only draw back I have about this location is their location. It is all the way down Middle Neck Road almost in Kings Point, but I find it well worth it to deal with the Great Neck traffic to get there. The classes are worth it!

I became a member of ILKB over the summer and have had an excellent experience for the past six months. Now I am encouraging my other family members and friends to join. I tried a free sample class and joined because I was so impressed with the overall experience. The place is clean and the instructors are very welcoming and knowledgeable. They are always making improvements to the space and the layout in order to accommodate their members’ needs. I have belonged to many gyms and this one stands out with excellent classes and excellent customer service. Each class begins promptly on time and even on the odd time that only one or two members showed up to class due to snowy weather, the classes are always held if they are scheduled. The music is always changing and fun. The classes begin and end with stretches to prevent injury. Then there are a series of exercises that incorporate cardio and strength training, and then we do kickboxing on bags as well as spar with the instructor, who takes turns with each member and supervises us to ensure we are doing the workout correctly. The routines are always changing and everyone can work to their own level. If you are interested in weight loss, the instructors with work with you, take your measurements weekly, and provide some food-​planning advice. They also give guidance on self defense, self motivation and self confidence. They often follow up classes by sending post cards home with words of encouragement. The facility is very clean and the restroom is well stocked with products if needed. There is no designated parking lot so you will need to come a few minutes early in order to park on the street, but that has not been a problem and I look forward to each workout at ILKB.

I had a very negative experience here. I came in to try the class, and one of their associates badgered me to sign up for a membership. She was very pushy, and wouldn’t let me leave.
I broke my ankle a few weeks later and was told multiple times that I could pause my account. Never once explained how the process worked. Continue to charge me and do not answer phones, email, or inquiries. I feel like they are a scam, and have zero customer service.

I tried this kickboxing class this morning with a friend who is a member and it was great! The class is short bursts of different cardio and punching combinations which I liked. The exercises were timed so you could go at your own pace which I prefer over racing trying to keep up with other people in the class. Overall it went by fast and I was drenched in sweat by the end. The studio is really kept clean and there are also toiletries in the bathroom (deoderant etc). Bring a change of clothes because you will need it! I also loved that it is only 2 minutes from bagel hut… this may have negated my workout but it was worth it :)

This place really rocks! The work-​outs are intense and realy kick you into shape. I’ve never kickboxed before and Anderson made it really fun and easy to learn the different skills and activities.
Best part about the work-​out is the abs — they really work your core and you really feel the difference, even after one work-​out.
I’m not one to go to the gym or work-​out much, but Anderson and Great Neck iLoveKickboxing have really changed that. Now I have a want /​need to go because you are guaranteed an INTENSE and worthwhile work-​out.
