Atmosphere is pretty fun here and the food is really cheap. Unfortunately, it was also not great. I had three tacos. The beef and the pork taco had lots of fat and burnt pieces, and my chicken taco was bland and had a bone. The person I went with had a burrito and was also unsatisfied and also found a bone in it. Salsa trio was lovely, but everything else was a little questionable.

We tried this place because we were in the area and wanted some street tacos. We tried the sopes, tacos, and a burrito. All the fillings were flavorless and dry tasting(pastor, carne asada, and barbacoa). The horchata agua fresca comes from a premix and the corn tortillas weren’t even heated up on the griddle, just a little steamed, which I hate. I like my tortillas to have a little texture and grease on them. We paid and left without finishing half of our meal it was that bad. I guess I’m spoiled living in Fort Worth where there is no shortage of delicious taquerias serving authentic food.

Good service but not impressed with food. Bean, cheese and bacon tacos were okay but the rest of our food wasn’t. The eggs on the huevos rancheros were overcooked(seemed boiled). The gorditas were not what we expected either. They had no flavor. Guess we are used to Mexican food from San Antonio.

Have seen this place for years and finally had to give it a try. Found it to be exactly what we were expecting it to be. A typical Mexican Taqueria! Service was ok, food was good, portions generous and prices average. If you want simple but good Mexican food this is a great place.

Worst experience ever. They messed up my order and they didn’t want to get me a new order. They gave my food to the person next to me and i gave me theirs. I told them I had the wrong order. Never again.

We stopped her for a late night bite, and I was impressed. No TexMex here. They serve the most authentic Mexican food I’ve had — delicious, hot tacos served on fresh tortillas for a very reasonable price. There was indoor and outdoor seating, with a Mariachi band playing in the patio. They were wonderful and very entertaining. The chips are served with three salsas. I had the fish taco, which was served with a generous half of a filet. One of my friends had the vegetarian burrito, and it was the largest burrito I’ve ever seen. I also noticed a sign that mentioned free margaritas on Saturdays, as if there weren’t enough reasons already to stop and dine.

Stopped in early for huevos rancheros. Pretty good. Eggs were a bit over and the sauce could have used some more spice. Excellent beans.

Best place for late night food. Staff is helpful and really appreciated. I like their free chips and salsa. Traditional Mexican Chile salsa is very special.

The good reviews must be based solely on service or solely by those unfamiliar with Mexican food. The only thing separating this from Taco Bell is the absence of mysterious looking meat. The quesadilla and taco are typically cannot fail choices, the failure here is epic. No flavor, formless tortillas slapped together with respective ingredients that allow the menu items to qualify for the labels given. The starter chips were stale and salsas tasted off. I should’ve ran out of there at this point. Cheap food but in this instance not even free is a fair price.

We ate, we loved it, and we want more. Whether you need a late night taco run or a leisurely meal this is your place to be. Everything is good, and the prices are very reasonable. Be adventurous! The liver and onion tacos were the only thing I could not bring myself to try(yes I have childhood issues from being forced to eat it for days on end)!! But all else is fair game. The only down experience I had was my first batch of refritos came out cold, but they quickly swapped them out for some fresh hot portions of heavenly cheese covered retried goodness! Add chips and some mind blowingly spicy bright green salsa verde and we were in business. Try the horchata too — it’s muy bueno!!!

It’s unfortunate to say that I didn’t enjoy my visit today. First off, nobody really greeted us when we came in so we just tried to figure out ourselves if it was a self serve or table service. We sat down and there is one of the employees on one of the tables eating and still have not said anything. I understand that she’s on her lunch break but she could at least say something to acknowledge our presence. Secondly, the chips that were brought out for us is stale :-(. When our waitress came back for our drink order. I said I want a Coke and water and she just walked away without asking my bf what he wants to drink. My bf went ahead and followed her to tell her what he wants. When she brought out our drink, I didn’t get my coke so I’m just thinking she’ll bring it out in a little bit but my coke never arrived.(I didn’t bother asking. Saved me some calories) My bf’s soda was never refilled nor asked us if we wanted more drinks. Despite all that, the food came out promptly and have no complaints. We may have just came in at the wrong time. I’m not sure if we will come back(we drove all the way from Plano just to try this place but sad to say it was not a very good experience)

Was at work in Southlake and had a sudden craving for Mexican food. Not TexMex but authentic Mexican food. Luckily this place wasn’t too far from me, and I was able to give it a try. Ordered some combination fajitas and a carne asada burrito. It was delish! Will be coming back!

It wasn’t bad. I really enjoyed the rice. We got the enchildas verdes y rojas. The chicken was dry unfortunately and she forgot to bring me my chicken taco :-/ We were looking for something extremely authentic and this has 95% of those qualities. I liked the atmosphere and the friendly staff.

This is a full on Mexican experience. From the outside of the building to thesis service to the amazing food, it is exactly like the restaurants I eat at in San Luis Potosí, MEX when I travel there each quarter. Don’t let the slow service or the façade keep you away. The food is worth the experience.

Decent tacos, good service, quick, inexpensive. Came here for a late dinner. I had carne asada tacos and my friend ordered gorditas and a fish taco. We were a bit disappointed that they didn’t have any beer and there weren’t many other alternative choices for drinks. Nonetheless we enjoyed the chips and salsa and the tacos were decent. Not the best in the world, but they were fine. If you’re looking for a quick bite to eat late at night, this is a good choice!

Authentic Mexican street tacos for cheap! I ordered the carnitas, pescado, and the barbacoa– all come highly recommended. Go on the weekends for the authentic Mexican stews like menudo. Tip: if you come on the weekend, they serve alcohol!

I have been going here consistently since it opened and it remains one of the most consistently good taquerias in the area. The staff is consistently great, the food is almost always fantastic(I have had some off-days…but not too many… they could just be written off as off-days). Highlights: They offer some meats that are not so-often found in Mid-City taquerias: tripas(usually awesome), suadero, lomo… but their pastor and carne asada are phenomenal. Their burritos are outstanding. Tip: If you want a breakfast burrito, but don’t want all the extras, just order the specific ingredients you want and they will make it for you. Cheese + asada + egg is one of the best things ever and will put you into a food-coma for a couple of hours afterward… you have been warned.

Erm, not quite the 4 star food I was expecting. I asked if the flour tortillas were made in house, so when they confirmed yes then I got all flour. If these are hand made, then someone has robotic skills at making perfectly round tortillas. They didn’t taste very hand made either. I didn’t finish everything, but I tried various dishes. The Caldo de Res. Always pretty bland to me, and this was not so different. They were generous with the soup bones which was nice. Not enough variation on the veggies IMO though. Too much potato! Next, 2 Lomo tacos. I chose these because I like tender beef. These tacos had big wide thin strips of ribeye, but it was certainly not tender. I ate half of one taco and left the rest on the plate. Skip those if you visit, bleh. Finally, a Gordita con Picadillo. The ground beef was seasoned OK, nothing special. However, the beans and cheese that accompanied the picadillo really overpowered it and the overall taste was not good. Also, a single gordita is huge. The gordita size is the same as a full size flour tortilla, wheras I normally expect them to be street tacos size… much smaller. The one thing I did enjoy was the Horchata. Love the flavor, yum! Also, the prices are very reasonable. 3 items + drink for under $ 20, that’s pretty awesome. Still, this place is a pass for me.

The husband and I were visiting the area and wanted to eat at local places so we found this gem on Unilocal. The chips come with a trio of salsas. The green is SUPER hot. The red is hot but tasty. Then the other red with chopped onion and other veggies isn’t hot and is really good. I ate a lot of that. The chips are thick, the way I like ‘em. I had the enchiladas verdes with pork. They have that pork upright gyro style and then slice it off into whatever they’re making. It has crispy pieces on it… so good! The rice was a little bland but it was tender and moist, unlike other places where it can have good flavor but be super dry. I liked the refried beans. My husband had the beef tacos and said they were good, too. It looks like the best time to go is on the weekends when they have free beer!
