I had this awesome plate today of carne guisada! It is by far the very best I have ever had. Both salsas are delicious. I will be coming back next week to try tacos and the Pupusas. A true gem in Grapevine!

Tacos are way overpriced for them to be alright. It’s in a shady joint, no menus, no table service. I’ve been to hundreds of tacos shops in DFW(hell in Texas) this one was not the worst just not the best. I gave it two stars cause it’s way overpriced for what you get. It’s mind boggling to see 4 – 5 stars the people of Grapevine must not get real street tacos very often. Tortas are not great either 7 bucks for a 5″ torta. In Dallas you can get a Cubana Torts the size of a football for 8 bucks.(look at my review history).

I just luv this little Taqueria. The little lady that cooks makes everything fresh! I luv the tacos. She also makes wonderful tamales.

This is the quintessential hole-in-the-wall taqueria! Complete with blue plastic table cloths, Cola Cola(Hecho en Mexico), long distance pre-paid calling cards, Mexican TV and the sweetest, abuelita chef on the planet. Now for the gringo food review… Depending on the day, she makes a mean chicken and/or beef soup with all of the right veggies that practically melt in your mouth! The carnitas tacos are a little crispy, but full of flavor. They’re served with fresh, chopped onions and cilantro and a few house made salsas(tomatillo and jalapeño, chile de Arbol). If you live near downtown Grapevine, you can’t skip this. It’s hidden, but worth the find!
