La Quinta Inn & Suites Grand Junction

The staff was very polite and helpful, especially during check in. The rooms are clean and organized with nice furniture and comfortable beds. The maid service, however, could have been better, but they still took care of things whenever I saw someone in the hallway and asked. They have a lovely fitness center with good equipment, which was available to everyone. Breakfast is also served in the lobby in the mornings, along with coffee and tea which can be found all day. Overall, I enjoyed the stay and will definitely come back when I come back to town.

Traveling alone at the age of 17 and came along a situation making it so I needed a room last minute. Called and booked a room here… Couldn’t have asked for a better place! Allowed me to check in even though I was 17, moved my checkout time back since I didn’t have anywhere else to go, and shuttled me to the airport. Friendly staff, and nice rooms!

They were super accommodating and the woman checking us in was very sweet. We had a great sleep and so did my dog (PET FRIENDLY). We were able to eat breakfast and get going quickly in the morning. (Check out was as late as 12 and they served breakfast until 10 am)
Our room was very very clean (even though it was a pet room– I’ve been to places that smell like dog pee and rotting meat in the pet friendly rooms so) I was happy not to have been handed a crappy room for having a dog. everything was so comfortable. And it’s close to a lot of things, including a beautiful view of the mountains. Definitely would recommend to others!
(It’s not reasonable to expect absolute silence from a hotel near a freeway. For those with more sensitive sleeping ears, might I suggest finding a hotel further from the street. Our house is near a busy street so we slept fine.)

Got to our room and our refrigerator was already stocked with leftover pizza from the last guest. The bed was comfortable enough but the bed base was exposed and looks like debris left over from d-​day that washed ashore. Bathroom had a cracked tile in the floor, and a toilet seat that pivoted on one point. Carpeting looked like the original installation from 30 years ago. Hotel staff was very friendly and personable, and breakfast ok. Thin walls and extremely loud toilet flushes made for a noisy night along with the occasional dog barking in the hall. The room was stocked with 2 paper drinking/​water cup — whichever you preferred, but not both. If we were staying for more than the night, we would have looked somewhere else.
Update — after doing an online review for LaQuinta, the manager sent me an email apologizing for missing the mark and gave us a $ 45 credit on our room. It doesn’t change my rating, but at least it shows they care and maybe housekeeping just had an off day due to several major events in the area.

Your hotel staff made a mistake with our reservations, you do not accept CLC reservations-​apparently not for the specific division of our company-​although we are the SAME company! We asked MULTIPLE TIMES!
When we arrived, we were told to return to discuss with the manager. Unprofessional & Inconvenient since we were in town for 10 day stay. No one wants to pack up and search for another room when most hotels are booked up!
However-I’m glad we switched hotels! Your hotel was filthy! Looks good on the outside-​pool area looks beautiful-​probably the nicest part of the whole property!
The room was disgusting! Hair all over the bathroom floors, toilet seat, both human and pet hair! Hair in the bed and on the counters, in the coffee nook! Shower curtain dirty! Disgusting yellowish stains all over the inside and outside of the bathroom and coffee nook w/​fridge area! Fridge was filthy! Ceramic tiles were filthy and chipped everywhere!
I’ve never experienced such loud housekeeping staff in my life! NO ONE COULD POSSIBLY SLEEP THRU THIS!
I didn’t sleep at all while we stayed at your hotel!
I didn’t even want to sit down anywhere! I bring my own cleaning supplies when we travel for this reason alone! The smell of the room was obvious you’re pet friendly!
On our way to the room I noticed 2 rat traps within 10 feet from the door to the elevator! Lovely touch! Pillows were about 1″ thick! So NOT inviting!

Wait!!! I almost forgot… WTF is wrong with the guest washing machine on the 3^rd floor! We weren’t the only guests that flew outta the room thinking there was some sort of explosion taking place-​only to learn, another guest simply needed to do a quick load of laundry during his stay. We scoured the room, halls and finally realized it was the washing machine. It was so ridiculously loud we couldn’t initially be convinced it was just that one machine causing such horrifying sounds.
You can’t convince me-​no one on your staff has ever noticed it-​or not one guest before us complained! Unacceptable!
My boyfriend rode the elevator up with the housekeeping manager-​she quizzed him about the condition of our room-​it was too much to even get into with her. Honey-​take time to inspect the rooms, please! Why wait for bad reviews or complaints? You’re one of the few properties in Grand Junction without bed bug reports-it’s one of the reasons we gave you a chance to begin with. There is NO EXCUSE FOR BEING FILTHY!

We stayed for 2 days, 3 nights at the end of June. Everything was clean and welcoming. It was close to everything we needed — gas stations, car wash, downtown, Colorado National Monument. There was a movie theater nearby which gave us entertainment in the evening. Grand Mesa National Park is also nearby and being Harley riders, the Harley Davidson dealer was, basically, next door. The continental breakfast was okay. It is always great to stay at a hotel with breakfast provided. I don’t normally care for their pre-​made omelets, but they are just not for me. They did provide hard boiled eggs which are a great substitute. They have 2 waffle makers with both regular batter and blueberry which was a great option. The fresh fruit provided was not as fresh as I would have liked, but the muffins were a great substitute. The water pressure in the shower was probably my biggest complaint, however, I believe it is quite common for hotels to save energy, which is a sacrifice I am willing to make. All in all, it was a great stay and quite affordable!

This was a great place to stay. Super friendly to pet owners, very clean facilities and rooms, and great service.

Every time we come into Grand Junction, we stay at the La Quinta. The customer service is excellent and they are always happy to accommodate the needs of the guests. I have never had any issues with this La Quinta. We will continue to stay here every time.

Just checked in. Ew ew ew. Room ranked of smoke there was sunflower seeds all over the floor. The curtains were broken and I have seen countless spiders. DISGUSTED. Can I have my 130 dollars back please

Clean, good rate, friendly front desk staff. Grounds are good for walking your dog (s). Comfortable room, noise level normal for a busy hotel… as always our two dogs stayed free… close to restaurants. we would stay again.

Got locked out and when I rang for the front desk 7 times for them to open the door so I could get back to my room, no one answered. Room key always locked me out constantly. Didn’t have any extra beds to pull into room.

Super clean and friendly staff! We are road tripping from ca to nj and this is our first stop. We have two dogs and we were put in a nice room that is clean and the pet area is right outside. We even got dog treats! :) I highly recommend!

We are traveling from the West Coast to the East Coast and found the Front Desk, our room and pet friendly accommodations A++!

We had a bad 48 hours of relocation travel and this Front Desk made that anxiety disappear with friendly service, promptness and excellent restaurant recommendations. Wearily when there was a small issue with our room, the lady at the front desk RAN to fix it and even gave me a hug before I almost started crying. When you are traveling with a scared family cat and a little doggie (these are our family members too) and you find a La Quinta like this, relocation is a lot easier! Thank you La Quinta Grand Junction!

Hold the phone! Several other options in Grand Junction. After being asked to be moved away from the ice machines, the put me on the 4^th floor where what sounds like an air compressor runs for 15 minutes. I called them and they said it would go off! Old rooms towels were like sandpaper and old and the toilet sounded like a explosion. Breakfast had to be the worst on our entire trip. Vending machine coffee. Please?

Stopped for the night on a quick trip. Have stayed in other LQ’s with good experience. This one’s main elevator was broken and of course our room was on the third floor at the same end of the elevator. For a non-​smoking hotel, the room wreaked of cigarettes and staleness. Had a very poor nights sleep. The exterior was well kept. Staff was accommodating and even offered an extra discount for the room.

Great rooms! Rooms were clean and the mattress was comfortable. Pet friendly. They had poop bags and a disposal outside. The bathroom door was cool… had double doors with a flip over lock. There is a photo posted. Not sure why it was an issue for the other reviewer… umm, how often does someone try to unlock a bathroom if its being used? And use a credit card to unlock a bathroom door… desperate? It was a little noisy, but I use ear plugs anyhow when I travel.

We were driving form CA. We arrived late about 1 AM. The lady who greeted us was super nice and accommodating. My kids love staying in hotels. This was going to be a very quick stay since we were on our way to Grandmas. I woke up and went in the shower. While taking my shower there was hair all over the shower walls — that wasn’t mine.
I expect things to be clean.

For one night, standard room with 2 beds, the stay was over $ 110.
Out of my stay at 3 La Quinta’s for my move from Los Angeles, CA to Downers Grove, IL, my boyfriend and I stayed at Grand Junction, CO; Denver, CO and Omaha, NE. I would rank Grand Junction, CO as the second best just because it was nice at least.
No real issues with the hotel, although I would prefer the cost to be cheaper and more reflective with the rest of La Quinta’s chain hotels.

Go somewhere else!
We found this place while groggily trying to navigate the internet on our phone. The eldritch horrors inflicted upon my body and mind that sleepless August night will be with me for a long time.
The bed was «fucked out». The head of the bed was significantly lower than the foot of the bed because the mattress was probably over a decade old. The pillows were lumpy husks which could not alleviate the horrible drowning sensation akin to being water-​boarded one suffers when they sleep with their feet inclined with a cold.
The TV was no help distracting me from my misery. It was a circa 1990’s Zenith Concierge CRT with perhaps 20 blurry channels, HBO being the worst. Which turned itself off and on erratically as if controlled by spiteful imps.
The exhaust fan in the bathroom did not function. Decades of long hot showers caused the hinges on the bathroom door to be so corroded that they creaked terribly. The rudimentary lock in the bathroom was also covered in corrosion and could be easily bypassed with a credit card.
Until scrutinizing the Unilocal reviews here, I did not realize that this was a «pet friendly» hotel. That explains the howling purse-​dog locked in the adjacent room.
Despite my dissatisfaction with the infrastructure and aged amenities of this La Quinta, the customer service was friendly, helpful and professional. Everything was clean.
However, the management really needs to pull their heads out of their asses and invest in new mattresses, TV’s and more maintenance if they are going to continue charging the same prices as much newer and nicer hotels right down the street.
