Clarion Inn

Nice place to stay, but they steal pillows. We left two expensive pillows there. We called and we’re told no pillows were found in our room. Obviously, somebody found them, because we left them there! The manager was no help and only deflected blame to housekeeping, as though they were not under his control. So, nice place, but don’t leave anything laying around, because they are not going to help, and they do not mind employing people who keep stuff you leave.

Stopped here during our move from California. I don’t understand the 4 star rating… the room and hotel smelled of smoke even though we requested non smoking and the air conditioning did not work. Friendly staff.

The Clarion Inn near the airport in Grand Junction was exceptionally accommodating. When we arrived, I asked for a first floor room. They did not have one with a king bed, but did have a queen room, which they offered to me. I was more than willing to switch bed sizes to avoid carrying bags up the stairs. The room was well-​furnished and had a comfortable bed that provided a good night’s sleep.
The Clarion Inn literature says that they want to know immediately if anything is not up to par. They even assigned a porter to the room to help with anything that we needed. My only complaint would be the refrigerator. It could hardly be called a refrigerator. It was tiny and did not cool well. We decided that we would be better off to leave our cold items in our cooler with ice.
The hot breakfast was included in the price of the room. There was a hot table with biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns, and pancakes. They also had a waffle maker, fruit and yogurt, sweet rolls, bagels, breads, juices, cold milk, and cereal. If you couldn’t make a meal with this spread, then you don’t know how to chow down!
Be sure to watch what you say, since the walls are thin enough to hear conversations.
I would give this Clarion Inn a solid four stars.

We stayed at this location last week on our way home from a week in Lake Powell. We were hot, tired and in desperate need of a shower. We looked for a hotel with good reviews and decent rate and found the Clarion. It was very well maintained, the beds were comfortable and the complimentary breakfast was well stocked. We also had 2 pick-​ups with all our stuff in the bed and 2 jet-​skis attached to the hitch. The Clarion provided security that came through every hour which was comforting. My family and I would definitely recommend this location of you find yourself passing through.

On our road trip, my family needed to take a stop that allowed pets so we stopped at the Inn. At 9:00 I sent my daughter in to take the dogs to the room and get situated, however, my key didn’t work to get into the back entrance. I had to walk through the main entrance and get the card to work again. I then walk to the room and see my daughter sitting outside and she informs me that the card has no response– I try my new one and it still doesn’t work. After waiting for the mechanics for over an hour and informing the managers multiple times of the situation, this nice guy shows up and looks at the lock and tells us that both the main lock and the courtyard lock are broken. He works on them and replaces them in 15 minutes, but it is now about 10:20 and my daughter is not able to swim in the «greatly advertised» pools which is one of the reasons why we chose the place. I try to take a shower after this incident, however I realize that we also don’t have hot water.
Maybe it’s just bad luck, but DON’T stay in this hotel!!!

This hotel offers a fantastic value for your money. Great job. Exceeded my expectations in every way.

So I have to say, I was VERY impressed with this hotel on several levels. It used to be a Holiday Inn way back when, and we initially chose it because they did not charge a pet fee. Then it was a $ 79 dollar room for two beds and with my new AARP card, it went down to $ 71 bucks. We were told when checking in that there was a «hot breakfast» in the morning for us. I was thinking, maybe a waffle maker or something… it was MUCH more than that AND included in the room. It did have a waffle maker, and your usual continental breakfast items, however, there were eggs, hashbrowns, pancakes, sausage, bisquits, and gravy! Blew me away. Plus the room was clean, plenty of hot water. The indoor pool was clean, with plenty of pool towels. All in all, I totally recommend this hotel to other travelers with pets. Thumbs up!

This is a nice, clean, friendly budget hotel. I would recommend this place to anyone traveling. Probably one of the best hotels in town, I stay here every time I’m in town, which is monthly or more.

This was a great stop! We travel with pets so we were given a ground floor room with a door that opened to an interior grass area to take our dog out. Clean room, comfortable beds and an unbelievable breakfast buffet. Hot table w biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, ham, hash browns, pancakes, then a waffle maker, fruit and yogurt, sweet rolls, bagels, breads, juices, cold milk, cereal so much! Huge facility, indoor pool was busy when opened. Loved it! We chose this for two reasons, pet friendly AND Unilocal reviews!

Indoor pool is small, open air, and sort of in the middle of everything, in the hotel. We are staying in near winter-​time, and they allow a refrigerator truck to park in the corner of their lot, and run all night. Can hear the truck run, all night long. Avoid rooms ~1070 if a motor of a large diesel/​refrigerator truck would bother you, in your attempts to sleep.

My family and I went for a mini trip in August 2015 to visit some family nearby. They have plenty of parking and conveniently close by walmart, safeway and gas stations (cheap prices).
Every staff was absolutely friendly and engaging. The lobby is spacious (compared to Anaheim, CA) with 2 different lounging area. Check-​in and check-​out services were super quick. The complimentary warm breakfast is served in the morning with eggs, bacon, cereal, waffles, muffins, yogurt and fruits. They have a indoor and outdoor pool. Next to the indoor pool, they have pool tables and more lounge chairs.
The rooms and the beds were smaller then I expected but everything was clean. The lower level are dog friendly rooms but you could not tell a difference except the extra door to the pool and dog area. If you want peace and quiet, this is the place for you.

I don’t Know about five stars like the rest of the reviews, this is definitely a three star resort. That being said it’s probably the nicest CLARiON I’ve ever stayed in. It had an atrium where you could play pool. Had a really great breakfast. Rooms clean but typical clarion.

The amount of side work involved in maintaining a hotel is tremendous, and the staff at the Clarion do an amazing job. There was absolutely no dust in our bathroom: none even on the door hinges nor on the water line to the toilet. The pools are exceptionally clean despite the fact that they are always open. The breakfast is large and the staff do an amazing job keeping it stocked. We stayed at this hotel two years ago and were equally impressed then. I commend the staff and highly recommend staying here when visiting Grand Junction.
BTW, during or stay, we saw people with very large dogs staying here and walking them on the grounds, so rest assured the hotel is pet friendly.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL IT IS HORRIBLE. I HAVE STAYED BEFORE AND HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE BUT THE KIDS LIKE THE POOL SO WE WANTED TO TRY AGAIN.
After making a reservation for a stay in Grand Junction Co to watch my nephews football game we were sad to have to cancel when he was injured and not able to travel, I called the hotel directly here is what ensued :
Me: hi we aren’t able to come to Grand Junction blah blah blah sorry please cancel.
Them: sir you booked with a third party we can’t help you.
Me: oh really ??? On your website but ok what’s the name of this third party ??
Them: It says afflist. ‚…

Sir I will transfer you… been on hold for 26 minutes while she looks up affiliate .
Seriously? ??
I have been transferred 4 times now when I call choice hotels. This is going on every social media site and review I can find.

This was a great experience for the last night of our 4-​day drive from Ohio home to Southern California with our two dogs. It was a bit more than we’ve been paying but worth it. (Under $ 80 inc tax with AARP discount. Two very comfortable double beds with lots of pillows and substantial sheets. Nicely appointed room and the overall décor of the large hotel was modern and appealing.
We were able to park at an outside door very close to our room. All pet-​friendly rooms are on the ground floor. The grounds are simply but nicely landscaped with plenty of grass. My only negative comment is that the carpet in our room had numerous stains. I’m willing to overlook that in a pet-​designated room.
Full breakfast bar is included. Nice indoor pool and hot tub.
Dinner at the Italian restaurant adjoining the hotel was underwhelming, in spite of the free drink given by the hotel. The décor is very nice and service great, but the food was disappointing, perhaps because we arrived quite late. We chose veal dishes and probably would have been better off with one of the pastas or pizza.
Very convenient off and on Hwy 70. Prior Unilocal reviews drew us here. Good advice!

I am so impressed. Perfect example of not trusting a book by its cover. Looks uninviting, but once inside, what a pleasant surprise. The employees are friendly and curtious and the spread of hot food was excellent. I would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I were driving across the country with our dog. We saw that the site said the motel was pet friendly. I called to make a reservation and the woman who answered the phone said they were not pet friendly.
They need to update their description so pet owners traveling with pets do not waste their time and vice versa.

I am giving this hotel a generous 5 stars because of the simple fact that I believe they gave me the biggest value. They delivered exactly what I expect for the money I paid. I expect a lot, so giving 5 stars took come consideration.
The beds are comfortable and the rooms were very clean. The room looked to be refreshed very recently. Despite no elevators and an older looking facility, it is laid out really conveniently. I didn’t go in the pool but I loved to see the indoor pool and other amenities for the active.
I enjoyed the complementary breakfast. The selection was right on and the milk was ice cold on my Cheerios. The waffle was really good but the coffee sucked, the eggs, potatoes and sausage were no good either. Still yet there was plenty other stuff for me to eat. Still an excellent value compared to my nightmare at Motel 6 down the street by the airport. For a tiny bit more you get a much bigger bang for your buck.
I really liked it when I shared my nightmare Motel 6 story with a female front desk clerk. I told her I gave them multiple opportunities to make it right and that I would write them a negative review if they ignored my grievances. The point is, she told me that she thought more people should Unilocal their experienced, BEFORE, not after I stayed with them. They had the confidence to CHALLENGE me to Unilocal them.

You deserve the 5 stars I gave you for having the balls to challenge me and delivering like a pro. Can’t forget the cool little Italian restaurant next door. I liked the food, the beer, and the people who worked there last night. Most of all, excellent and efficient front desk at the hotel.
I just joined Clarion Privilages rewards program. If all the Clarion rooms are this comfy I am appointing this hotel chain as my new preferred, modestly priced motel for family vacations.

we love coming to this pet friendly hotel… the courtyard is beautiful and the pool is great. it’s really pretty quiet here… we’re in a dog room and there was zero smell. love it. kind employees too. also there’s no extra charge for the dogs… stayed ⁵⁄₂₃ $ 79 + tax. PS: u can get two coffees from the individual coffee packets in the room — Update 10÷15÷15 — do research before booking online with

has a horrible track record with cancellations and reimbursements. You have been warned.

I paid $ 63 on Priceline for a room here, including fees. The room itself was alright, definitely not as nice as the Doubletree I booked a night before, next to the SLC airport for $ 10 less, but that was a really great value in a different market to be fair.
So why 1 star? People were chatting outside my window on the sidewalk of the hotel around 10:30pm for a while and people were having loud sex in the room next door.
1 star for the hotel or 1 star for humanity. You decide.
update: I did change rooms and it was as quiet as a hotel room should be, but the new room did not have a mini-​fridge. A hotel room not having a fridge wouldn’t normally bother me, but I decided to get food earlier with the intention of refrigerating my leftovers. The room-​to-​room inconsistency murdered my takeout.
If I were to ignore the mini-​fridge crisis and the loud noises, I would have rated them ³⁄₅. Okay room and clean. Nothing special, nothing horrible.
+1 star because ¹⁄₅ seems mean.
