These guys. THESE GUYS. This is the moving company you need to be using in SB. Sprinting up the stairs with my boxes while at the same time taking complete care of everything. Quick but thorough. They did things I didn’t think possible and with amazing rates. Highly recommended. They show up on time, do what they say they will do, and don’t overcharge. Robert, the owner, worked for five hours and was pleasant and professional the entire time. The rest of the workers were friendly and efficient. Excellent company. Use them.

University Movers did me another solid today! I used them about 3 years ago for a local move and was very satisfied. Recent changes in our family meant another local move needed to happen in late January so I called U.M. again. Rudy, Rob and Crew did an excellent job — very hard working and got the back-​breaking hard work of safely moving my heavy furniture and family heirlooms DONE! Recommended!

I used UM back in August to move a 2-​bedroom apartment. They damaged a reclining couch of mine which no longer reclines and has several holes in the fabric now. The owners solution was to come bye and offer me cash to make it right, far below what it would cost to repair. They also damaged the door jamb moving the couch in. In December Robert (the owner) said he would submit a claim and get back to us the next day. It’s almost February and I’ve yet to hear a word from him. Apparently his phone has been down due to the New Year… Y2K at his office I guess. I would never recommend his moving services to anyone. Not to mention his employees practicing Kapoeira in my front yard for half the move. Robert… if you’re reading this, I’m still waiting for my insurance claim.

I hired University Movers for my last two moves, and both times they were fantastic. I really appreciated how fast they worked and polite they were (even after moving from a second floor apt to a third floor apt). Highly recommend these guys!

I had a few days to move all my stuff out of storage. Called University Movers last minute and they were… fabulous! They got out right away and did a great job, all before the holidays! You guys are awesome, thank you!

Okay, I was referred to University Movers by a friend who used them once before and I’m glad I did.
I’m a student at the local college and I had my stuff in a storage unit during the summer because I didn’t want to move them back and forth from the Bay Area. I called the office and the woman, Amy, helped me out in getting an estimate for moving my stuff from the storage unit to a house downtown.
I met up with the two guys (Rob and Omar) at the storage place at 9 am and they were quick to load everything into their truck and unload at the house. The guys were really nice and moved everything with ease.
I recommend these guys because they are really well priced and quick to finish the job while being careful with the fragile stuff, meaning I could get straight to unpacking my boxes!

Rudy and crew knocked out our move in nearly half the time quoted. All the guys were hustlin and took care of our stuff. Second time customer and will definitely use them again in the future.

I called and described my house and its contents to the lady on the phone and she quoted me a price for 2 guys and 2 hours to do the work. She mentioned that they prorate on the 15 minutes after my time. I called back and suggested booking 3 hours. She said not to worry, nothing else was booked for that day.
The truck was supposed to arrive at 9am. At 11am (and several «it will be there in 10 minutes» calls later, the truck and 2 guys arrive. I welcome them in and they get to work… slowly. Another guy shows up and and things are a bit faster. Then Robert the owner shows up and things actually start to get done.
Since they were 2 hours late (costing me money for other things) I am told that we get the 3^rd guy for free. When Robert hears this (contract signed for 3 men at 2 man rate) he takes one of the guys and leaves me with the original 2. Things then come to a slow crawl.
I tell the guys that we need to get the big stuff to our new home, so they close up the truck and head out. It takes about an hour to unload what took them 3.5 hours to load up. They ask if I want them to go back for the rest of our stuff but I decline as I simply can not afford to pay for this move.
I do not sign off on the hours as I have an axxess card and say I will call the next day.
I call and am immediately transferred to Robert the owner. He was expecting my call and he was fully prepared to argue the massive overage of time. He tells me that I should have asked for someone to come and visually determine the job. (this was never offered) He tells me that its just a suggested amount of time but that they can’t give accurate quotes (despite the email confirmation with the bold ESTIMATE written on the top). He tells me that it should have cost $ 1000 for what we had to move. (a family of 3 in a small 1 bedroom home.) When getting paid $ 140 an hour, obviously taking as much time as possible is the plan. We settle on a price and then he informs me that he has already charged my card the full price from the day before since he had my credit card on file, even though I have signed nothing permitting him to do so. He credits the full amount, then charges my card the decided on price.
The guys were nice but only motivated when Robert was present. Any professional business should be able to determine their abilities and allot time accordingly. The phone conversation was far from pleasant and unfortunately I simply can not recommend this company.
I feel terrible writing this, but being taken advantage of is not something I appreciate and I simply do not want them taking advantage of others.

University Movers sent Brandon & Justin for my one bedroom, in-​town move on 8÷27÷2015. They were great! They were speedy, careful, friendly, and heeded my comments regarding fragile items. Nothing was damaged during the move and it was a great experience. I completely recommend these two and the company for which they work!

They are very energetic yet detailed to satisfy customer needs.
My medium to large size household move was completed within a half day!

I’ve always been weary of hiring a professional moving service, as my past experiences have always resulted in over-​priced service or my precious valuables being damaged.
University Movers has broken the stereotype and went ABOVE and BEYOND when it came to my moving situation!!! I was in a last minute bind to move my stuff when my friends bailed and instead gave these guys a call on the last day of my lease! I was stressed as I only had a few hours to get out and my stuff wasn’t even packed in boxes.
Robert, the owner, told me it was his busiest day, but he could squeeze me in if I would be ready in 45 minutes. I was embarrassed when him and his team showed up at my place to find boxes half packed and stuff completely unorganized. Yet, regardless, Robert and his two guys gently and neatly helped pack things in a very quick and precise manner. I’m still shocked these guys went above and beyond to bust out their tape guns and get their hands dirty with my overflowing items!
Not only were these guys immensely quick in loading up the truck, but they made sure everything was thoroughly secured down and protected with padding, as my items did not fill up the whole truck.
Robert was immensely kind and professional helping me transfer stuff to my new home AND my storage facility. His team was polite and professional, always keeping a smile on their face and checking in frequently with me.
I respect this company and absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a professional efficient mover. Thank you Robert and University Movers Team for helping turn a nightmare day into the smoothest move ever!

I’m not one for writing reviews but this Company deserves it!!!
Like everyone in this world when it comes to moving out your Home, you always want to find the fastest & most stress free solutions! I decided to give this company a Call last Tuesday 8÷4÷15 to get a quote on moving a fair amount of heavy furniture from my house in Santa Barbara, to another location in Ventura. Upon calling «University Movers» the guy on the phone said he would send someone over that day, to give me a quote. an hr later I was greeted by a Gentleman named Robert, he explained the process beginning to end, which made me feel at ease as he was very knowledgeable.
On the day of moving Roberts, and his crew showed up bright & early. I was surprised just how fast & professional they all worked to get the Job done. The professionalism and courtesy they all showed While Performing there job was truly amazing! My stuff arrived in One piece which I was grateful for. One of the crew even helped me set up my storage units upon unpacking it from the box I certainly appreciated the help. I I’ll end this by saying I found the Price & service of this Company to be amazing and very hard to beat. Without you guys, this wouldn’t have been possible thank you

I recently used University Movers to move out of my condo and it was the best moving experience I’ve ever had! They were very easy to work with, the girl, Amy, who booked my appt was a total sweetheart and then I had Rob and Dan help me move and they were absolutely amazing! I’ve recommended this company to all my friends and would suggest you do the same! You won’t regret it!!!

I would give this zero stars if Unilocal allowed it. The company charged me 2.5 times what they estimated (local move), and damaged a number of furniture items. They eventually — 2.5 months later! — did some repair work, but damage remains. Worst of all, the owner, Robert, is BY FAR the rudest, most unprofessional service provider I have ever worked with. He is stunningly defensive, and becomes extremely angry very quickly. He yelled at me in my own house, with no provocation. One last thing — they started with two men, complaining that they needed more, and only brought (several) more at the unloading end. The problem with this was that there were so many people that it made it impossible for me to direct what should go where (they largely ignored the labels I had put on things), so that I had to spend days afterward moving things myself.
Probably the single worst service experience of any kind I have ever had in my 53 years. Avoid this mover at all costs!!!

Yup, these guys were terrific! On time and knew what they were doing. I was amazed by their speed and efficiency — what a boon at a stressful time.

We hired University Movers to help my daughter move her stuff into storage for the summer. Amy and Robert were very easy to work with in terms of scheduling. The movers, Brandon and Jason, were great. They called ahead to say they could be early and finished the whole move in the time expected. We will book them again in less than a month!

Thank you, Robert for driving to my house to refund all charges and writing me a check to cover new TVs! Really great that you took responsibility and made things right. Still can’t give 5 stars because we can’t change anything about being 3 hours late. But thanks again for being a stand-​up guy.

I first dealt with Dulce when I sent an email for a quote and she called me back promptly to get some more details before sending me an estimate.
She called again as the moving day approached to make sure everything was going according to plan.
We just needed help unloading at our new location (Lompoc, CA) having driven a rental truck from Los Angeles.
The movers called on the agreed upon day to say they’d be running a little late due to «some trouble getting out of the yard.»
I made sure our minimum 2 hours wouldn’t start until they arrived.
We had paid for 2 student movers and 3 showed up, all brothers, Sam, Justin and Brandon.
They let me know that we wouldn’t be charged for three people (unless, after two hours had gone by, we decided we needed the extra help).
So we started unloading.
They were careful and pleasant and fast. I mean fast! Once something was dropped off inside the house they ran back to the truck for more. We were so caught up in the enthusiasm that we started running around too.
The whole 17 foot box truck that took us 3.5 hours to load was unloaded in 45 minutes!
They asked us if we wanted any help putting furniture together or unpacking, but we said no thanks.
They did such a great job that we gave them water and a $ 20 tip each.
I mentioned that we had purchased a
deal and they made a note of that on the invoice, but that i would have to contact the office for a refund.
I contacted Dulce and she sent the check without delay.

I had to move again, this time to a house in Goleta with my fiancé. After my last experience moving from NY to CA I was not looking forward to hiring movers. However, University Movers made everything so easy I was actually shocked! Even my new neighbor commented on how fast Rudy, Tim, Josh, and Steve were moving.
From the beginning of this move, when Rob came to my old place in person to give an estimate everything just seemed to move to nicely. I am very impressed with University Movers and highly recommend them to anyone who needs to move without a glitch.

Who likes to move? The answer; no one! Everyone always has more things to move than anticipated we were included with that saying. Rudy and his crew were very helpful, hard working and professional. The job was completed in a timely matter because there was no «down time» with this crew.
