If you live in Golden or are seeking a few beers on your way to a hike in Golden Gate Canyon or Coal Creek Canyon, you’ll be happy to know there is a great liquor store along the way. There is a great selection of beer and liquor, in a space that doesn’t smell like a liquor store. Prices are what you would expect when compared to other stores in the Denver area. I’m not going to get overly excited, because it’s just a liquor store. But it’s still worth a visit.

This store has a surprisingly good selection for being a small facility. That being said, I’ll be making a point of not going back, after paying $ 3.69 for eight re-packaged plastic cups. If you do shop here, consider the convenience store across the street for ice and other accessories, and be aware of the prices of what you purchase.

A surprisingly solid little liquor store off of highway 93 right as you get into Golden,(by the 7-eleven that seems to serve as an informal landmark). They have an impressive wine selection for being a small store. I haven’t bought hard alcohol here, just because it hasn’t ever come up, but we’ve often picked up some wine at the last minute and found some really great finds for around $ 10,(Cable Car cabernet sauvignon comes to mind). They have whatever beer you would probably want, as well as several Belgian varieties,(the Affligem blonde is a good one to try, especially if you have been to Cheeky Monk and had it before). They have a few sake/sochu/ume selections toward the front of the store as well. Overall, the prices are really reasonable since it’s the only liquor store in a couple mile’s radius.
