AVOID! This joint «repaired» my Corvette after purporting to be fiberglass specialists. Terrible result. Charged my insurance full boat and used substandard aftermarket parts (by their own admission) that DID NOT FIT. PUMP THE PROFIT AND THE BOTTOM LINE AT THE UNSUSPECTING CONSUMERS EXPENSE. My Vette’s hide-​a-​way headlights scraped against the ill fitting hood replacement wearing the paint off; and the smaller detail items like the air scoop behind the front wheels was not assembled (attached) properly. THE SUBSTANDARD AFTERMARKET HOOD DOES NOT PROPERLY ALIGN WITH THE FENDERS. My air dam underneath the engine which was severely damaged was not replaced attributing «existing damage» …make an extra $ 400. on that one, eh, DON? Other parts on the repair were left «flapping around» in the wind and not repaired to even rudimentary manufacturers specs. I was left with electrical problems in the headlight wiring harnesses that cause the battery to discharge from some open-​ended power draw they left un-​repaired– still unable to be fixed to this day. One of the headlight housings did not operate up-​and-​down a short time after delivery and was explained off by a bad housing motor (not your doing again, DON– it’ the «part’s fault» ONCE MORE, hum?). The battery completely discharges to DEAD after 1 week of being in the garage leaving me to having replace two new batteries and still having to leave the vehicle on a battery PERMANENTLY on a battery tender to this day. (Sort of like being in «garage-​ICU» all the time.) Well, at the time of delivery (which took months) DON, the service manager told me there was a «life-​time warranty» on the repairs, but gave NOTHING in writing. Barely a receipt as evidence of the itemization a of the repair. They just pulled the vehicle out from the back and left it alone and running waiting for me to get in and drive away… no general inspection or courtesy explanation of the repairs done. NOTHING but the running car idling in front. NOW THAT’S WHAT I CALL «WE DON’T GIVE A S-​IT» ABOUT YOU CUSTOMER SERVICE.” But they took the 7 Grand repair check from State Farm quite nicely, though. This is all the result of «trust in verbal statement» of purporting to be «fiberglass (Vette) specialists» and my mistake of using an auto body shop NOT authorized by State Farm because I was assured by DON that they would do a better than average, higher quality rebuild on my Vette. NOT SO! Trust in a supposedly «reputable» auto body shop in Glenview? WHAT A FARCE. When I took my Vette back for adjustment, I got totally stonewalled by DON and one of his flunky «estimators» ganging-​up on me” saying that the «problems were ALL due to the PARTS (fault)» not the labor which they only warranty. The part’s fault? Glenview Auto Body chose and installed the chosen substandard parts. They would do ABSOLUTELY nothing to adjust the substandard parts OR the poor quality labor of repair because it’s the «part’s fault»??How convenient! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! Even the smallest items that would make the hood latch lock properly upon closing — at the very least for safety purposes. Would have tool them about a half-​hour to make the hook lock upon closing. NOW, STOP HERE A MOMENT. they were the ones who selected the poor quality aftermarket parts (not GM issue because their «cheaper») and they have conveniently have «absolved» themselves from any «warranted» labor defects that would otherwise be covered because the parts were sub-​par AND I have NO recourse through State Farm because the insurance company doesn’t «authorize» their business in their book to do insurance work through State Farm. LETS GET REAL. Glenview Auto Body selected the SUBSTANDARD non-​GM PARTS FOR A HIGHER PROFIT MARGIN, billed State Farm FULL, and then gave me the bum’s rush when I took my Vette back for consideration of ANY kind of adjustment under their supposed «warranty». Well, here’s the Unilocal: DON’T TAKE YOUR CAR TO GLENVIEW AUTO BODY BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT AUTHORIZED BY STATE FARM (and likely most other insurers) TO HANDLE QUALITY REPAIR CLAIMS TO THE INSURED’S AND INSURER’S SATISFACTION. VERY POOR QUALITY WORK– EVEN POORER CUSTOMER SERVICE AND ATTENTION. I think they used to call joints like this «schalk-​operations». Recommend to AVOID!

Terrible customer service. They fixed one of the three parts of the car and forgot to fix the other two. Chose them at the suggestion of the dealership where I bought the car. They accidentally got paint on my door handle and did not fix. Hours of operation are inconvenient for anyone that works a M-​F job.
I would not use them or recommend them to a friend.

They will make your car look like brand new. Your car will look as good as it did before the accident. They use quality BMW paint and strive to use OEM parts/​materials.
They do not have loaners or take credit cards so that helps keep their costs down. Their labor rate is only $ 50/​hr. They have a key drop off box, you can arrange to leave your keys and information and return for your finished estimate.
If you are looking for quick, bargain work don’t go here. They will have your car for a few days as they don’t skip or rush steps.
FYI: If your insurance company tries to tell you where to go tell them you want to go here. Illinois law says you only have to get 1 estimate (not 3) and an insurance company cannot tell you where you have to get your car fixed in order for them to cover the repair.

My family has used GAB over the years and have always been happy with them. Tom and crew do a great job. Would highly recommend!

Absolutely terrible service! Today I went to get an estimate on my BMW and I had a guy named Dustin that was assigned to do an estimate, he was unbelievably rude, mean and he snapped at me few times, trying to be the police officer and trying to determinant what happened to my car. I told him I just need an estimate since there’s a police report and investigation already for the damage. He was VERY VERY VERY rude, extremely mean and arrogant. I left without having the estimate done because of his horrible attitude, I couldn’t take it anymore. I called the shop back few minutes later and talked to Tom the general manager, he had absolutely nothing to say about this, all he said was «I’ll address that to Dustin» and that was it. Terrible customer service overall! I’ll never go there again EVER!

Fantastic service. My mom fixed her car here and she recommended that I go there for an estimate as well. When I called, I was worried that I was not going to get in but they squeezed me in at lunch time. When I got there the receptionist was so nice to me. I just can’t say enough good things about Glenview Auto Body. The appraiser actually took time to explain to me everything that I will need to fix my car, labor, parts, insurance. I left educated and knowing that my car will be in good hands.

I’ve used Glenview Auto Body — unfortunately because it’s only for tragedies that I go here — on and off for the last ten years. I wanted to write a review because it seemed like they got a bad shake. I know it can be frustrating to wait and wait for a car to be returned. The rentals are a pain and the overall experience is pretty rough — not to mention the whole accident part.
Tom and Tim run a tight ship and the work is always «like new.» I appreciate that it’s a family business and this seems to lend to everyone there doing the best job possible. The estimators are always a lot more picky than I am and you can never tell there was ever any damage to the car in terms of operation and aesthetic.
I’ve brought cars in for a few fender benders and a few cosmetic touch-​ups — see photo — and every time they take a lot of care with what they’re doing to deliver an amazing job. The best part about Glenview Auto Body is that they do all the business with my insurance company. I’ve got State Farm and the last accident needed only two calls about the repair. Tim covered everything else with them and really took care of all the problems. Worry free!
I know there’s always the rare occasion where someone feels ripped off by the body shop or their insurance and writes a bad review — but all my experiences with Glenview Auto Body have been first rate. If you’ve got a car you care about — go to Glenview Auto Body!!!

I wish I could rate them better but I cannot. I have taken my car in twice. One time the repairs took over 6 weeks and the other time over 8 weeks. They were not major repairs. Also, I remember one time when they called me to inform me of progress; otherwise I had to keep calling them every four or five days to find out what was going on.
The second time, the car was returned to me with a broken electrical wire so that features on the car did not work properly. This had occurred while they were fixing my car. They refused to fix it without me paying full price for the repair. Needless to say I did not leave it with them.
Oddly enough, as I was in the waiting area right after this, I overheard one of the mechanics come in and tell someone that he had broken something in the process of fixing a car and that they needed to get the insurance company to cover it. The timing of this comment was unbelievable.
I absolutely cannot recommend Glenview Auto Body in any way. They are dishonest and customer service is not a priority.

It is hard for me to rate Glenview Auto Body low. Their customer service staff stays in constant contact with you while your car is being serviced. That being said, the attention to detail and execution of their labor staff is sub-​par.
I have used Glenview Auto Body twice and both times upon detailed inspection noticed flaws in their work.
The first time I used Glenview Auto Body was to have a bumper replaced after a light accident. They replaced the old bumper, this a new painted bumper. When I picked up the car, the bumper was mounted correctly, but there was a small chip in the paint. At the time, I was happy to just have my car back and went happily on my way. About a month later, I noticed that they had failed to inform me, while changing the bumper, that the engine splash shield had been heavily damaged in the accident. It was clear to anyone actually working on the car that the splash shield had been damaged, so I will assume the actual technician failed to inform their management.
The second time I used Glenview Auto Body was for a dented door. (Note, I had not yet noticed that they had overlooked the splash shield when fixing the bumper) This time when my car was returned, the door trim was not properly aligned and the weather stripping was not properly installed. Once again these were issues that would easily be noticed upon a quick inspection. In less than 1 minute I picked up on both the trim alignment and weather stripping issue. I informed Glenview Auto Body of the issue and they did fix part of the weather stripping, but not all of it and they failed to fix the trim alignment.
Auto Body repair is «devil in the details» type of business. I have used this shop twice and would recommend customers look elsewhere to have their car repaired. Like I said, the customer service is great and with a quick glance your car will appear fine. However upon a quick closer inspection, you will find a number of quality control issues.
At best Glenview Auto Body is an expensive version of Maaco.

The customer service here is great! I was recommended to come here from a local auto dealership. The person whom I have been dealing with is named Darien — he’s very cool, friendly, professional, and attentive to my needs. The vehicle is currently in the shop — waiting for finished repair. And Darien lets me know how things are going all the time. I’m very pleased with my experience so far. I’ll write another update when I get the car back after repair.
