Tim Ferguson, MD

Wow, I must say I have read many reviews and found the bad ones most interesting. I have been seeing Dr. Ferguson for years and before that Drs. Van Vranken and Kramer (back to the mid 50’s). My last visit was in April of this year which I saw Mrs. Henderson. I have seen both PA’s as well as their nurses. I have found the entire staff to be very helpful, professional and concerned for my issues. Yes I understand about the occasional wait in the lobby but it is a doctors office and trying to pre-​pinpoint how long a patient is going to take is difficult. I do understand «things» do come up but I sure have not found anything to rate this doctor, PA’s, nurses or any staff member other that excellent.

First off, I LOVE Dr. Ferguson and his PA Jessica. This review is for PA Raquel. I have never seen Raquel before but had to go to her because Jessica wasn’t in the office that day. Right when she walked in made me feel stupid for being in there with the problem i was having. She has no compassion at all and talks to you like you are wasting her time. After she pretty much told me there is nothing wrong with me she lectured me about being late (I was 10 minutes late). After I walked out I literally had tears in my eyes because of how she made me feel. I will never go to her again. But, Jessica is amazing and I definitely recommend her! She actually cares about her patients, takes her time with you and makes you feel better!

There is so many things wrong with this office, but it all starts with that front office and the PA. Let’s just say that I can’t emphasize enough how that front office and PA is rude. They question you like you have something to hide and extremely argumentative that you can’t get a word in. This doctor is being blinded by his front office and not paying attention to the quality of care of his patients, period! What a shame how a doctor can let their office run the show without asking any questions and not even speaking to the patient to evaluate the situation. Just horrible service!!!

If I could give zero stars I would. I went in because I’ve been having severe stomach pains and was hoping they could find an answer. They gave me an appointment with Jessica for 130 and told me to show up 15 minutes early since I was a new patient (standard) so I get there at 110 just to make sure I wasn’t let however they all were on lunch. The sign said there’s be back at 130… Okay so I kill 20 minutes and still no ones back from lunch… Okay what ever I’m in pain and I just want an answer. They call me back, ask normal doctor questions and Jessica would be in to see me. She comes in like a bull in a bull shop! Can I just say rude! Talks to me for a few minutes and Automatically says there’s nothing wrong. I failed to mention to her that I had been injured several times and have on going back pain from being hit by a car and being Tboned by ones do have been going to an orthopedic surgeon and physical therapy for over a year. From that second on it felt like she was assuming I was only there for pain meds. that’s when she said that «I need to pull up my big girl panties and get over it» REALLY?! REALLY??? Who says that?! Especially to a new client?! After pushing for a blood and stool sample she finally agrees.
All I have to say is I am not happy with my experience.

Called for a basic checkup and blood test, and was told I would have to wait 4 months. Extremely unrealistic and rude front desk. Will be switching doctors to the more highly rated family practitioners in Glendora. I’ve also had unusual charges on my previous medical bills from them which they finally reversed after several months. Fix these problems, and I still wouldn’t consider going.

I’ve been a patent for about 4 years and am done. I was sick went in, got blood work done and was given antibiotics and told to rest. When I asked for a dr note since I missed so much work I was told «we can only give you one for the day we saw you» so you’re telling me everyday I missed work I had to go in and complain, so not only am I missing money for work I’m spending in on a dr to tell me the same thing. Not only that it took 3 days before my blood work was done and I was the one calling to get the results.

Dr. Ferguson is the greatest. All I think about when I’m in my happy place is Dr. Ferguson and his cool puppy telling me to relax. Remember, its all about peace and love when you’re in your happy place. Good things happen when you’re happy.

I have known Dr Ferguson for more than 20 years through my jobs and as a patient. I have not had any issues with Dr Ferguson as a medical provider.
The issues started when he moved offices.
I went as a patient and after my first visit with his PA I switched back to the old practice. Was so happy I did. The PA did not seem like she cared. Felt like this was a job to get done. Lucky I did not have a major issue.
Three years ago my mom in her 80’s called and made an appointment as the office requested as she had not been in for over a year and needed pain medication renewed. She has no common medical problems no diabetes, no hypertension. She is on pain meds for back stenosis.
We got to the office (early) and was told she did not have an appointment. She was basically accused of using the system to get pain meds. They were asking her what other doctors she has been seeing to get pain meds. Even if they are to be taken up to 6 times per day she usually only takes them 2 – 3 times per day. They were laughing stating that maybe she called the old office. They called the other office but there was no appointment there either. I have a back ground in the medical field working for doctors and hospitals. I was not happy so escalated to the office manager which turned into a battle of who had the most years experience. The manager did not care either.
Made appointment for Dr Ferguson and not the PA. Back for appointment saw Dr Ferguson I told him what happened he seemed upset and thanked me for letting him know and told me to always let him know if any issues.
For the last 2.5 years my mom has been under the home care team through the medical group. She does NOT go to primary care.
Yesterday we got a call from Dr Ferguson’s office to confirm her appointment. I explained did not have one has been on home care since August 2011.
It came to me that the appointment referred to above (the one that was not made) was about this time 3 years ago. I checked my calendar and sure enough it was same date 2011. So the office scheduled that appointment 3 years in the future and then treated the patient like she was the confused stupid one. This time we are laughing at them.
If we were not on the home care team would have changed primary care.
One last note Dr Ferguson’s medical assistant is great. She is always professional and caring. Follows up with phone calls and treats her patients with respect.

I rated Dr. Ferguson a 1 but actually he should get a 0. I had Dr. Ferguson for many years but never had to go to the doctor. Well, I hurt my foot, went to urgent care and was told to follow up with my primary. I left the house early but had to wait because there was an accident and I couldn’t go anywhere. I was 5 minutes late – no one waiting to be seen. I finally got into the room and waited and waited. Finally the doctor came in looked at my foot. I told her I had another question and she told me since I was late I was not allowed to ask any more questions. I was furious. Ferguson had been my family doctor for so many years and this is how I am treated??? I called Ferguson and told him what had happened and he justified it!!! Took the doctors side. I told him it was never like that when he was in his other office on Foothill. He told me «You had to wait a long time to see me.» And he was running a tight ship in this office. I should have reported him to Blue Shield. Instead I changed primary doctors and couldn’t be happier. He can keep his tight ship and his rude doctors and staff. There are so many good doctors out there. Too bad he is not one of them. I didn’t have to put up with his rules.

Several months ago, I took my very old, blind, deaf, and senile grandfather to the doctor. He’d been bleeding in places he shouldn’t, and though this was a recurring problem and one other doctors had assured me wasn’t serious, I still wanted to take him in and get him checked out.
Unfortunately, getting him into a car can be a trial, and some days are worse than others. I left over an hour before the appointment, even though the place was only ten minutes away, just in case he had trouble. He just had more than usual, even for him, and we ended up being fifteen minutes late.
The women in the office were not exactly gracious or forgiving. They all but said they wouldn’t see him now, then, with a lot of complaining and eye rolling, said they’d TRY to squeeze him in (for the record, we were the only ones in the lobby). They reminded me to be on time, and a few minutes later, when I handed back the paperwork, they lectured me again on not keeping people waiting (still the only ones in the lobby). When ONE man finally came in about twenty minutes later, the woman at the front desk all but shouted how grateful she was that he’d managed to be on time, as some people didn’t have that ability.
Okay, I got it. Being a few minutes late is the equivalent of killing a puppy. Lesson learned.
After quite some time waiting, my grandfather was finally called back. We were once again lectured about being on time, and when the assistant doctor or whoever she was came in, we were lectured again.
We’d specifically requested a visit with Dr. Ferguson, and though I might have understood getting Raquel Henderson instead given that we’d committed the mortal sin of being late, I later learned that he wasn’t even in the office that day. I could understand if he’d decided he wouldn’t be available for appointments AFTER we’d been scheduled in, but someone probably should have called to let us know that the doctor wouldn’t be the one we were seeing.
In any case, after yet another lecture, Dr. Henderson informed my grandfather that she didn’t have time for any serious problems, since we’d been late.
…a doctor telling her patients she doesn’t want to deal with them? Always a good start.
It didn’t get better. She very impatiently listened to my description of his bleeding and then gave us a referral for another doctor. She was all but out the door before she’d even finished, and of course my grandfather chose this moment to confess that he’d had a sore on his foot for over a year and had been hiding it from me. She looked very pointedly at her watch before asking to see the sore, and when he whipped off his shoe to show us, the doctor looked more disgusted than even I did. It was a pretty gnarly wound, I’ll admit, but her reaction wasn’t exactly professional.
She gave us a bunch of referrals to other people, told us to keep cleaning the wound with hydrogen peroxide until it healed (something which the specialist we later visited said was a terrible idea, as it just caused scar tissue), and lectured us again on being late.
SERIOUSLY. I GOT IT. I’ll never be late again, I swear!
I wasn’t overly impressed with her. Even the constant lecturing aside, she didn’t try to do anything with his wound beyond handing him a Band-​Aid. When she told us to keep it clean, I had to ask her what I should use to do that. I then had to ask her how often, and what type of bandage to use. I had to ask her if there was anything I needed to keep him from doing to make it worse, like wearing his shoes. I had to ask her if he needed an antibiotic. I’m pretty sure those were all things SHE should have been telling ME.
Overall, this was one of the worst medical visits I’ve ever had. My grandfather complained afterwards that she’d made him feel disgusting and useless, and he refused to ever go back.
Unfortunately, we did have to return for a follow-​up visit a little while later, just to get his medication. We were definitely on time, but Ms. Henderson and the women at the desk were just as rude as before. They were just as impatient and just as short, and while I didn’t get lectured this time, I’m pretty sure smiling or being friendly was against the rules in that office.
I’ll be finding another doctor. I don’t want to go back to people who treat an old man like he has the plague or worse and who seem to believe common courtesy is a criminal offense.

Dr. Ferguson is a GREAT doctor. If somebody had any problems with him at all is because this world is just not perfect. But this doctor gives his everything, good mood ALWAYS, very professional and understanding. His stuff is adorable. Wonderful, wonderful. Go to him if you want a doctor with capitalize letter.
