I am incredibly happy with the work they did here on my car! They really are honest and know what they’re doing. Best Volvo mechanics I’ve found in Los Angeles! Sam went out of his way to find parts for my car. I HIGHLY recommend.

Volvo owners, this is where you want to take your Volvo. Sam is the man and he knows Volvos. If you live in the 818 or close enough to get there, they’ll take care of your Volvo needs and you can feel good about the work they do. I stumbled across them while trying to find an alternative to the dealer. I’m very happy with their service. As long as I own a Volvo, that’s where I’m taking it!

All the reviews, I have read about Sam and his crew are True… no need to repeat (you can read below). But for my situation? as a new customer… he treated me like a trusted (repeat) customer. Made sure that my Starting-​problem was solved and repaired in one day.
It was my (good) luck to find this business within 2 miles of my work location.

Volvo Pit Stop was very friendly, professional, and accommodating from the get go. My wife and I were recently in the process of buying a vehicle (from California Auto Group), and having never bought a pre-​owned vehicle from anyone other than an authorized dealership, we were a little skeptical. I wanted to do a third party pre-​buy inspection on the vehicle to check for anything that may not have come up on the reports, so we had Volvo Pit Stop take a detailed look. Volvo Pit Stop was able to modify their schedule so that we could get our car in there that same day for a pre-​buy inspection. Since I was not present for the inspection, they called me to speak in detail about their findings with our Volvo, and I was able to pay over the phone for their services. The pre-​buy inspection came back stellar, so we decided to buy the car. The cost was very reasonable– only $ 100 for the inspection compared to the $ 350+ that Galpin Volvo was asking. I will definitely be returning to Volvo Pit Stop for any future needs!

Very friendly. Knows what they are doing trust them completely. They all are knowledgeable about Volvos only use original parts not market parts like most dealerships would. I am so happy I found them and will always come back for any service.

Sam and his crew by far have to be the most amazing «pit crew» I’ve ever had work on my c30R. I’ve been to mechanics for the most part of my life and I’ve always had reoccurring problems with the simplest things, but never with Sam.
They keep everything straightforward and never sugar coat it, always wanting what’s best for you even if you don’t want to see it.
The experience Sam has on top of the knowledge of his crew just gives you a feeling when you walk through the door that you really did bring your car to the right place.

Volvo Pit Stop saved me from a lemon!
I was recommended by a friend to Sam’s shop after I purchased a used XC90. After a 2 hour thorough rundown of the car he showed me a detailed list of everything that was wrong and what I would have to pay to get it fixed. Though I wasn’t happy I purchased a dud, Sam and his team saved me thousands of dollars in repairs.

Sam’s shop is by far the best mechanic shop I have been too in California. You get dealership quality service with personal rapport.
My father is a mechanic, I grew up in the Midwest and when I moved out here he was worried I would not find a good mechanic. However, Sam and his crew have become like family to me. I know I am being well cared for and my car is being worked on by some genius mechanics. Sam goes that extra mile and gives you that personal one on one that make the event of car in need of repair, which never fun, but he make is less of a hassle so you can get on with your life.
Cars and repairs are difficult to understand at times. Sam has proven to me he knows what he is talking about, But sometimes you may need some explanation to have a better understanding; Sam is good and at taking the time to explain so you can understand the issue. Several times I have seen him miss lunch because his customers are important to him. He really cares and I find myself almost feeling bad that he is working so hard for his customers that he at times overlooks his own well being. He is simply committed and that is hard to find out there in the market.

I had my dad (Ninous) take in my 2003 Volvo S60 to Sam. He was very diligent and honest when he told us what was wrong with the car and the things that were priority and things that could wait a little longer. The best part of all this was that he was extremely professional and friendly. He only used Factory Volvo parts and he never compromises on Quality. Thank you Sam you are the Best!

I would like to say that this shop will be my go to for the remainder of the time I have my Volvo. I recently had an issue where all of a sudden my car just wouldn’t start– I was getting a «key error» message. Please hope, that as a Volvo owner you don’t get this message. I digress… I called Sammy at Volvo Pit Stop and he actually offered to stop by and check out my car on his way home for the day. Needless to say, I took my car to his shop the next morning and am still talking about the wonderful service I received from this shop. Thank you for taking care of my car!

The #1 thing I was looking for was a honest mechanic/​owner. This is exactly what Sam offers. He told showed me everything that was wrong with my V50 T5 and gave me his list of most important and let me choose what worked with my budget. I am proud to say that Sam is running a great business and he is my Volvo mechanic!

My husband and I have a used Volvo S60 and we have taken it to Sam twice now. He was super honest with us from the first minute. He let us know that our car was still under warranty and made sure we had our car looked at by our dealer before he worked on it. He made sure that we were taken care of without charging us for his services. We will definitely be back to have Sam repair all issues that were not covered under our warranty. We couldn’t ask for a nicer or more competent mechanic. He loves what he does and it shows with his work and his service. Thanks Sam!

Sam is the best mechanic in town how knows Volvo’s really well, I toke my V70 to him after I went to many places to trying to fix a problem with my gear and nobody could told me exactly what my car had wrong until I toke it to VOLVO PIT STOP and they told me what was wrong with my car and they fixed for much less that the other shops around now my Volvo runs just fine…

Sam is a great guy. Working on old Volvos can be crazy at times and sure he might have to take a couple of stabs at sorting things out but by gum he has always gotten it right for me with my 1990 Volvo. Only reason I dropped one star is that he can sometimes be hard to get a hold of but other than that, again, customer for life.

Sam is amazing! Do yourself and your Volvo a favor and head over to his shop!
I purchased an 06 Volvo V70R which is the AWD beefed up turbo wagon. I purchased it used at a dealership up near San Francisco late last year. When I test drove it, I noticed the front tires would break loose once the turbo kicked in. I figured the tires were simply crap and the car too powerful. The dealership (Toyota) Said they’d done a full 200+ point inspection etc, so I didn’t really question it. When I got back to LA I began to piece together that my AWD just wasn’t working. I brought the car to Galpin Volvo. I sat at the dealership for half a day while they diagnosed that the car was RUNNING PERFECTLY (it wasn’t). Galpin tried to sell me accessories and new tires and NEVER diagnosed that my AWD was having issues. They even test drove it and told me it felt fine!
So I went to Sam on recommendation. He test drove the car and IMMEDIATELY knew that the AWD system was not properly working! Having owned a V70R himself, he knew exactly how the car should feel.
Sam ordered the parts and the car was fixed at a very reasonable price and fixed perfectly! He even offered to give me a ride home while the car was being fixed. Instead I opted for a rental car which he arranged and had the rental car company pick me up at the shop.
I immediately called Galpin and told them they had lost my business!
I HIGHLY recommend Volvo Pit Stop to anyone with a Volvo! New or old! Warrantied or not!
I had a third party warranty on my car and Sam dealt with it professionally and quickly.
The sad part to all of this is that while on vacation in the mountains, I was involved in an accident which totaled the car :(I’m not sure if I’m more sad that my car is dead or that I won’t be using Sam anymore.

Sam has fixed a couple things that went awry with my 2000 Volvo. It’s now running in great condition. Today, I couldn’t figure out why my brake light wasn’t working (new bulb) and he fixed it free of charge. This is obviously a business that cares about their customers.
I understand, no one likes to have to get any repairs on their car. It’s always a bummer. But it is a necessity. Do your research and Volvo Pit Stop will still have the best reviews and best price for your Volvo…
Even the guy who sells Volvos nearby (LTZ Motors, I trust him too) says Sammy is great!

Sam is really a very very good mechanic and a terrific person, I brought my old (1989) 780 volvo in with a very bad running motor (I was sure my was done for) he look it over and told me to lev the car and come back in about an hour, when I came back me good old motor was running like new and he was leafing, I had told him that a different volvo shop gave me the dooms talk and that I need a new motor ($ 3500) all Sam did to me car was chance the computer for the motor out with on that still worked and vola my car was running again.
If you have an old, new or rare volvo that you what only the best for I am telling you go Sam, he is the owner of Volvo Pit Stop and now I know why he named his shop pit stop because it was the fastest service I have ever had with my good old volvo.

Sam is a good guy, who prides himself on great service, fair pricing, and running a spotless shop. He worked at a Volvo service center previously, so he knows his stuff. Plus, his shop is authorized, so your Volvo warranty remains in good standing if you’re smart and take your car to him instead of paying ridiculous prices for rude and impersonal service at your Volvo dealer.
A few months ago, we bought a certified pre-​owned Volvo V50. Last week we were due for our first service, which happened to be the 22,500 mile checkup. The dealer wanted $ 295 for little more than an oil & filter change, tire rotation, and a series of «checks». I called Sam and he agreed to do everything required for a third the price. Deal. You will now be taking care of our little station wagon. Thanks, Sam!
