Dr. Kotikian is a board certified Oral and Maxillfoacial Surgeon that specializes in all aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. In the office setting he performs more complex cases like removal of wisdom teeth, placement of dental implants, bone grafting, sinus lifts, removal of oral tumors, treatment of TMJ patients, and IV sedation (twilight sleep). In the hospital setting he performs more complex cases like reconstrcution of the face after a patient has sustained facial injuries, removal of large oral tumors and reconstruction, orthognathic surgery (corrective jaw surgery), surgical treatment of obstructive sleep apnea patients, and treatment of oral and maxillofacial infections.

Dr. Kotikian completed his dental school at UCLA, then went on and did a one year Hospital Dentistry Residency at the Long Beach Veterans Administration Hospital where he dealt with medically complex patients. Following his one year residency at the Long Beach VA he moved to Michigan where he completed his medical degree at Wayne State School of Medicine in Detroit, MI, did two years of general surgery and completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Dr. Kotikian lecture regularly lectures at the local and national level.

Extremely respectful, knowledgeable and attentive. This man is an authority in the field of maxillofacial surgery — a sample of which can be found on YouTube.
I need quiet a lot of work done but everything that I have had done to date has been completed without any complications or pain — even when I got home I haven’t needed any pain medication except on a vary rare occasion and even then, just one or two. Dr Kotikian goes the extra mile and follows up with a phone call later on in the day to make sure all is well — which is reassuring.
His surgery is spotless and tastefully decorated, his reception comfortable, and his staff are very friendly!
Dr Kotikian is a mild-​mannered and softly spoken man which is great if you are the nervous type (I’m not — I think going to the dentist is like getting your heels done at the shoe repairs).
Highly recommended!

Wow… I don’t write Unilocal reviews, but Dr. Arnold’s performance and professionalism has compelled me to say something. I am a coward when it comes to dental work, and I needed a fractured tooth extracted. Dr. Armond really is a ninja when it comes to this; I was expecting some slight pain during the initial local anesthesia shots, plus weird numb tugging sensation that I hate, but I felt nothing, and it was completely done within 10 minutes and I was up and on my way out the door. Also, he was not pushy with the options and answered every question I had with utmost patience and professionalism. I have NEVER had an oral surgeon visit be this good, and to top it off Dr. Armond followed up a three hours later with a personal phone call to make sure I was ok. I wish I could leave a six star review…

4, –1 for obvious «overwhelmed» front staff. I’ve worked front desk 10x worse; no excuse… however the office is wonderful, state of the art equipment (the 360 degree x-​ray is way 2010 — Stanley Kubrick, not the year! futuristic)… Dr. Kotikian was very personal in his approach, the music being played is a MAJOR + for ambience, the back office is superb and polite and comforting… wish dental work wasn’t so expensive (everywhere)… I need implants, Mexico it may have to be!!!

One of my buddies had received a recommendation from his general dentist to go see some other oral and maxilliofacial surgeon to get his wisdom teeth pulled, and ended up getting an infection. Poor guy had to take a week off from his work, and he is self employed, so it hurt. So when my wife told me her dentist told her she needs to get her wisdom teeth pulled, I asked around for the best oral and maxilliofacial surgeon in Glendale, and several of my friends, who are in the medical field themselves, recommended Dr. Kotikian. I’m glad we chose him. He is a charming guy with a full head of white hair. Extremely knowledgeable, and very professional. Also, I was quite impressed with how helpful his staff were. They helped us walk her over to my car after the surgery. Very nice folks. Later on that day, Dr. Kotikian called us to see how my wife was doing.
If your general dentist recommends someone other than Dr. Kotikian, and you’re in the Glendale area, see if you can go see Dr. Kotikian instead. Better safe than sorry.

This 1 star goes out to «anni» that works in the front office. Good job!
1. Leave your attitude at home and don’t bring it to work.
2. Don’t ever raise your voice at a customer waiting for the «Doctor». Never came in to see you or your attitude.
3. All I asked is for the doctor to take a look at my xRay that was taken the same day by a different Doctor.
4. Yet you still wanted me to fill out paper work so you can charge me as a first time patient. When clearly «my doctor» called your office and let you know I was coming and your doctor already knew.
5. You acted like «you knew it all» yet you didn’t even have a clue.
6. Extremely rude and UNPROFESSIONAL! Will never recommend anyone to come here

Nothing is as great as being 35 and needing to have all of your wisdom teeth removed. I’ve been putting off surgery for years, because I didn’t want to go through the ordeal. Everyone I know was warning me how painful and uncomfortable it was going to be, but I’m about two weeks out from surgery and it’s been so easy.
Dr. Kotikian has great bedside manner, so I felt completely comfortable and confident in him. I fell asleep and an hour later everything was done. Uncomfortable sure, but not nearly as bad as I feared. The office runs very smoothly, and I’d definitely recommend him to anyone needing oral surgery.

Dr Kotikian is a tooth extraction ninja! He removed three of my wisdom teeth. Two were impacted. I was very anxious about receiving the IV Sedation because I’d never done it before. And I mean VERY anxious. His staff was calming and next thing I knew the procedure was over and I was on my way home. He gave me the perfect amount of sedation. No nausea or other side effects. After the procedure I had very little pain. I only took ibuprofen for about four days. I was (carefully) eating chicken after the 2nd day!
He’s very professional and it’s obvious he is very skilled at doing these procedures. I would refer him to my friends and family!

Dr. Kotikian and his staff were awesome! I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth taken out and had absolutely no issues before or after the surgery. They were all extremely friendly and helpful the entire time. I would highly recommend this office to anyone looking for oral surgery.

Dr. Kotikian is the finest model of professional healthcare. I have worked in healthcare for over thirty years and he is by far the best! My husband got into a serious bicycle accident which required extensive surgery resulting in nineteen screws and three metal plates and mesh to repair. He was very lucky to be referred by the ER at St Joseph Providence in Burbank to Dr. Kotikian. From start to finish he was the most kind caring and competent individual. All of his office staff are the same as well. How lucky we were to be treated by such a wonderful man. Thank you!

Dr. Kotikian is very knowledgable and takes his time explaining what needs to be done. He answered all of our questions and did not make us feel like we were wasting his time. His staff was also very pleasant and we were able to see Dr. Kotikian exactly at the scheduled time.
Office is conveniently located and I was able to park right in front of the building. It’s a bonus not having to deal with large medical buildings and the whole hassle of validating/​paying for parking.
I have already recommended Dr. Kotikian to several family and friends and they have had a similar positive experience.

This man has such a great skill that my recovery time was little to nothing. I didn’t even have to take any pain meds. He thinks of every little detail and has you well prepared for the procedure and recovery. He’s also very intelligent compared to others in the field. He also calls, himself personally, to check on you after the procedure. I would trust this guy with my kid. Great man.

Dr. Kotikian is an excellent doctor! I removed all four of my wisdom teeth without anesthetics and felt no pain during the process. The extractions took about 15 minutes without even realizing that they were even out! He is very kind, caring, and helpful, including the staff members. Overall a very great experience!

Dr. Kotikian is super sweet and helpful. I’m not sure if my wisdom teeth weren’t that difficult to pull out, or if he is just a super amazing surgeon (maybe a mix of both?), but I had probably the least painless wisdom teeth experience ever. He called later that night to make sure all was well, and ensured that our followup was scheduled that week. He’s very flexible, intelligent, and easy to talk to. Thank you!

This Place is amazing!!! I got all four of my wisdom teeth out here and everything went perfectly. The staff were all very nice about helping me with insurance information and Dr. Kotikian is an incredibly gentle doctor. He is very nice and skilled. You know he really truly cares for his patients. Dr. Kotikian and his staff are the best, hands down. I recently had my wisdom teeth removed and the entire experience was so easy. From the first consultation to the post-​op check-​in I had this morning, Dr. Kotikian was very patient with my questions and knowledgable about the surgery. I could tell I was in good hands at his office.
He and his staff have excellent bedside manner which is very important to me. Before my surgery the nurses were joking around with me which lightened my mood and calmed my nerves. The surgery was quick and I had nearly no side effects after. Dr. Kotikian even called me a few hours after my surgery to make sure I was doing well and wasn’t in too much pain. I am so glad I chose Dr. Kotikian for my wisdom tooth surgery and I will go back to him in the future if I have any other oral surgery needs!

Dr. Kotikian was a wonderful doctor. He was kind and courteous. He’s great at making you feel welcomed. I knew from the first meeting that I was going to be in good hands.

–Parking (in rear for three cars, in front of facility, at the mall center across the street)
–Only one receptionist (handles calls and patients coming through the door … I was put on hold a couple times for a good ten minutes)

I was told I needed a procedure by several people, including my Dentist. When I was referred to Dr. Kotikian, he took a look ‘at the problem area’ and said, «no, just let it be and it will go away on its own.»
