The quality of care at Dr. Avanesian’s practice cannot be surpassed. He is very skilled, and this practice continually updates techniques/​technologies, with great results for the patient. Staff is so friendly & welcoming, yet very professional and careful to inform patients what to expect at each step, and extremely careful to cause minimal, if any, discomfort.
I really trust Dr. Avanesian’s professional job and cannot thank him for keeping my teeth clean and beautiful! I really recommended this dental office if you care about your smile! Very friendly and thoughtful Dr. ever!

My husband and I are so thankful to have found Dr. Avanesian. Not only is he genuinely a nice Doctor but his staff is also great! Being in the medical field I really pay CLOSE attention to bedside manner and billing. I will say they’re on top of it and make us feel right at home! Mouth pain is one of the worst experiences but I will say I am ease when I have to come in and confident Dr. A. will take good care of me and my husband. There was even a time I was experiencing some extreme discomfort on the weekend (during closed hours) I called and left a message and Dr. A. called me right back and advised me what to do. We respectfully recommend this practice!

Stop looking at the positive reviews. Avanesian is very nice and capable but he is not the only person you interact with! They are always trying to sell you on unneccessary «deep cleanings» which I had never had in 30 years. I told them I could not afford this special prescription they tried to push that would help my gums grow back. EVERY visit they told me that I needed it and EVERY time I had to say no. It felt like a car dealership where they would take turns trying to sell me on additional products/​services. I even told them about tooth pain and that I needed a root canal. They proceeded to ignore my comments and charge me for fillings. When that did not work they THEN said I needed a root canal and charged me for that. This is my first negative review on Unilocal.I’m finding that the Dental HMO dentists have a lot of the same complaints so I’m upgrading to a PPO plan that will give me access to more capable and honest providers.

Easily by far the most professional and capable dentist I’ve found in California.
Quick, painless and very cheerful. The entire staff are pleasant and very personable.
If in lived in Santa Monica id still use this spot.

I did go back to my cleaning. I must say, I had a much better experience. The doctor was really professional & spoke to me about what exactly I was unhappy about. He was very attentive to my needs & I appreciate the individual attention. The doctor even gave me toothpaste for sensitivity free of charge.
That said, I had my teeth filled by Dr. Avanesian’s partner (I do not recall the name). He did a wonderful job as I did not have any pain afterwards.
In conclusion, I now understand why it’s so hard to get an appointment when you forget to attend to your original scheduled appt. The quality of work is amazing, that’s why they have so many patients.

Do not go here! I went here for a root canal and extraction, came out of consult with a list of things they told me I had to get fixed (which I got confirmed from another dentist that it was NOT true!).
Waited two weeks with a aching tooth so I could go in on a Saturday, the day before the women leaves me a message confirming in detail what my appointment was for all the other random stuff .then when I Call her back to tell her it that my main issue was my root canal extraction and that Inwas in PAIN and not all that other superficial BS THEY convinced me that I needed –she got upset with me and told me NO, their dental surgeon couldn’t come in tomorrow (as They scheduled me) SHE turned it around and blamed me for not understanding… I dunno. I’m not a dentist, but I’m not stupid. If you want to get ripped off, this is your place! You have dental insurance, they want allllllll they can get from them and you! BUT IF YOUR IN PAIN AND JUST NEED SOME HONEST DENTAL WORK, don’t go HERE!
Btw, had my work done somewhere else– of course I was DYING in PAIN! I had them email the X-​rays that I had already paid for before my appointment was cancelled to my new dentist so I wouldn’t need to pay for new ones, and they couldn’t even use them, USELESS! Had to get new ones!

Best dentist office I’ve visited. Great customer service from staff and the doctor made feel so comfortable even though I was so anxious coming in to get work done. Definitely coming back.

My main conundrum is that I absolutely adore Dr Hamlet. He is kind, efficient, gentle and a good listener. As someone who gets nervous at the dentist, he immediately put me at ease.
Unfortunately, the front desk is like a horrible broke down mess. Every time I have come to the office, I have waited for at least 45 – 60 minutes past my appt time.
This has been brought up time and time again. Instead, the secretary simple says it is out of her control. Wait, I thought if you are making the appts, you are in control of the appts.
I have reached the end of my rope and will not be coming back. The good news for them is their waiting room is always full — with patients wondering why they made an appt in the first place.
Tip to Dr Hamlet — fire the front desk staff — you are too good to be brought down by such incompetency.

Dr. Avanesian and his staff are genuinely kind and look out for each of their patients. My only gripe is the long wait at times. There have been times where I’ve waited an hour after appointment time to be called in, but once I’m in my seat, I’m ready to rock and roll.
I’ve been at his office for many reasons and I am always satisfied with the outcome. I’ve had a cleaning done by a woman once, but I didn’t leave thrilled. It felt rushed and lacked detail on every tooth. I have another appointment with her soon and really hope she takes her time and cleans every tooth this time around. If I am happy with this, I will recommend her cleaning to others because, again, the office and staff are great.

My son and I have been coming to Dr. Avanessian office for over 10yrs. Let me say that I dislike dentists and don’t like feeling pain in my mouth. Dr Avanessian has made me feel very comfortable over the years. He works great with kids.
The office safe is top notch as well. They are always willing to help with any questions, especially Adrienne the office manager.
They have great payment plans which makes it easy on a budget. Plus they are open late a few days out of the week which is great for wrking people. They are always willing to accommodate to my schedule.

I have been a patient at Dr. Avanesian’s office for about 8 years. I have to say, he has to be one of the best dentists out there. Not only is he a very knowledgable Dr, he’s also extremely kind and very approachable. I actually look forward for my monthly appointments because he makes it so fun and easy. Also, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful.

I have been going to Hamlet Avanesian D.D.S. at Town Center Dentistry for about a year now. Back in January 2014 I had a tooth start to wiggle on its own, and I panicked as I sought to find the right dentist for me. I hadn’t seen one in way too long, and trusty olé’ Unilocal helped me find this office with the good reviews. They also accepted my insurance, and I’m super glad they did. As it turned out, the wiggling tooth was a symptom of something worse, and Hamlet and his team of incredibly friendly and personable dentists and other mouth doctors went to work on fixing me. And guess what: they did. Deep crevices in my gums have become tiny pockets, my teeth are all still there, and a very serious problem in a completely different tooth was also healed, and without any surgery! That, in my book, earned them at least 4 of those stars. The 5^th star was earned from the demeanor of the staff. I used to hate dentists. Now I feel a lot better about this relationship. I still go for cleaning and check ups every three months, just to make sure we’re still doing okay. (The Netflix in the chair doesn’t hurt either…)
The only drawback (and yes, a five-​star place can still have an issue or two) is that they are so popular, wait times can be a little extended. If you have an appointment, clear a good portion of the next few hours to get through the process. Once you get in the chair, however, the wait is worth it. My smile is back. If you have dental issues and you haven’t been taking care of them, go see Hamlet on Broadway.
PS: They have parking too! Behind the building. I didn’t see it the first time either.

Dr Avanesian is amazing, with great personality and outstanding professionalism. I have been his patient for the last 10 years and I have always had good experience with his services. He does spend time to understand his patients concerns and dental problems and does give his professional attention and care as needed. I would highly recommend his services and would definitely have him as my trusted dentist.

My 4.5 year old daughter and I both had appointments and after going through 3 different dental offices, these guys are the Absolute amazing dentist and staff!
They are so fun and gently. I loved the fact that the dentist came quick and did not let my daughter sit in the dental chair and get nervous. He explained to her what he was going to do and took the time to introduce her to the equipment so she knew exactly what was going to happen. I am so happy I was referred to this office. My little girl was such a struggle at other dental offices but she was the complete opposite in Town Center Dentistry. She had four cavities filled without any kind of cry, fuss, or tug and pull… And its all thanks to this great dentist and staff! I would definitely recommend any aged person to try this dental office. They really know what they are doing and patient satisfaction is definitely a top priority at Town Center Dentistry!

I’ve gone through about 10 dentists and I have to say that Dr. Avanesian has been the best! His work is truly great! I recommend him to anyone looking for a great dentist. Always gentle and answers all my questions. The office is always clean and the staff is extremely friendly.

I have gone to Dr. Avanesian for over a year, and am sorry to say that I’m not happy with the quality of his work and will be moving on to a new office.
Pros: He is very nice and personable. I think most people have anxiety about going to the dentist, and he is kind, explains things well and answered all my questions.
The staff has always been very nice and super helpful with insurance questions and getting things billed correctly. Pricing for his services seemed very reasonable. Clean, bright, nice interior. There are a few parking spaces in back of the building to make parking easy.
Cons: I had been seeing a dentist in Monterey before moving to LA, and had been told that my teeth and gums looked great — and these are expensive, upscale, dentists in that area, so I had trusted that dentist’s opinion. Dr. A told me in the first visit that I needed a deep cleaning which is expensive and invasive, and I wondered at the validity of this evaluation as I had no prior need. When I told them I was not ready to have that service done, he and his staff proceeded to harass me about it every time I went in for other services.
But, THE THING THAT DROVE ME AWAY is the fact that he had put in 2 fillings for me and both need to be replaced because of the bad quality of work. I’m very disapointed in the time and money wasted and don’t look forward to going through the anxiety of having 2 fillings replaced right away!
All in all a nice doctor, but I’m not confident enough in his work.

I’ll start by saying «I USED TO HATE DENTISTS» until I met Dr. A. To put it simply, I have a small mouth and I gag easily. Going to the dentist was always an ordeal, so I would only go when I had a major toothache.
I have Aetna HMO for my insurance, so I searched their names with Unilocal reviews. I found Dr A and I went based on the Unilocal reviews. I am so glad that I did. The best decision ever! I will be going every 6 months for a checkup.
He doesn’t try to sell you on procedures that you don’t need like other Dentists that I’ve been too.

It’s only taken over 10 years and a number of failed dental experiences to finally find a great dentist and and dental office. Dr Avanesian and his staff are courteous, professional, and very knowledgeable. The office is small, yet they seem to be up to date as far as equipment and technology. The office is clean, the rooms have small TV’s playing movies to help distract you from the cleaning, etc. if you are not a fan of the cleaning process.
Dr Avanesian took the time to go through my dental x-​rays with me and explain what he was seeing and provide me with some helpful education and tips about my teeth and dental care in general. What I really appreciated the most was that he and his staff didn’t try to sell me things (which has been my experience with every other dentist I’ve tried in LA –from one in Beverly Hills to West Hollywood) that they claimed I needed such as appliances and procedures. Luckily my sister is a dentist and is familiar with my dental history and care so she steered me clear of buying –literally and figuratively-​the B.S. the other dentists tried to sell me.
If you are looking to try a new dentist/​dental office, I would give this one a try. I plan to keep him as my dentist and will see him back in 6 months for my regular cleaning.
Parking was easy as there are a few spots in the back and street metered parking. I easily parked in the back lot.

I’ve been to many dentists in Los Angeles and he is by far the most hospitable and cozy one I’ve found. He is very knowledgable and open to conversation. What some people have reviewed about one of the receptionists, totally true. She is not very welcoming or nice at all BUT everyone else makes up for it. They are all very sweet and helpful, not minding questioning. Parking is in the back which is rare. Only once I have waited about 40 minutes before being called, so I’m not sure if there is any truth to historically waiting a long time.
I liked him so much, I even brought my 2 ½ year old daughter there, thinking I would likely have to take her back to her pediatric dentist. The staff and Dr. Avanesian did an amazing job with working with her and making her feel comfortable. I’d also like to note that I asked if I could listen to my headphones while they worked on me because the sound the tools make bothers me and they were very accommodating. Dr. Avanesian also let me know the tools they use are operated differently than most dental equipment and are quieter. He wasn’t lying! They were definitely less intense sounding.
