Welcome to Glen Prairie. We serve contemporary American cuisine, with a strong emphasis on local Midwest flavors and ingredients. Where possible, we feature natural, organic and family farmed products, sustainable seafood and «green» farmed wines.
Meet the Manager
Danny O.
Manager
Chef Daniel Ovanin began his culinary training at the Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago after moving to the Windy City from Los Angeles. He launched his career washing dishes at Gia Mia in Burr Ridge where he quickly became a sous chef. Later he served as kitchen supervisor at Ciazza Restaurant in the Burr Ridge Marriott and then as kitchen manager at the Five Seasons Country Club in Burr Ridge. Chef Daniel then took his skills and talents to the Compass Group in Evanston before taking on a leadership role at Glen Prairie at the Crown Plaza Hotel in suburban Glen Ellyn.
Ovanin, currently Executive Chef of Glen Prairie, makes weekly visits during the growing season to local farmer’s markets with his team to source the freshest ingredients for the restaurant’s contemporary American cuisine. With a strong emphasis on local Midwest flavors and products, the restaurant features natural and organic ingredients, with a comprehensive wine list highlighting «green» farmed wines.
