On the way to my office from home… A great, fresh and friendly stop! Awesome ambiance and would recommend it at any time of day! Don’t think about it, just go! Oh and they have great coffee

Conveniently located next to Crowne Plaza in Glen Ellyn, IL. I literally was craving a coffee and about to look up the nearest Starbucks when I sawyer sign for«Why not Café» right next to my location. I walked right over a was greeted by Antonia. She was very helpful in making my decision on what to get(being a first timer). She made the the café latte fresh for me and I also purchased an Espresso Nocciolato, just to try something new. They have a great food and beverage menu with very unique items. So when in Glen Ellyn… stop by Why not Café, you will be glad you did!!!

A small wonderful place where you can get coffee, wine, and beer under one roof although it is in a crummy ugly modern strip mall. There are a great variety of coffee and expresso type choices and gelato available at this new place

Local cafes are seriously one of my favorite things, so when I spotted this newbie on my way to a meeting in Lombard I couldn’t help but pop in and check it out. I mean, local coffee shops are literally hidden gems in the burbs so I couldn’t pass it up! WHYnot Café offers a full coffee menu and they brew Lavazza which is nice. They also have a great little food menu with paninis, salad, pastries, and wait for it… gelato! Yep it’s a lovely little option for a bite to eat. Plus, they have craft beer and wine available as well. All my favorite things in one! On this particular day, I was just looking for some coffee, free wifi, and a nice little spot to post up with my lap top in an effort to skip some traffic heading home. The café was completely empty with the exception of the girl who was working who happened to be sitting at one of the tables when I walked in. I ordered a dark chocolate mocha($ 3.50) and a bottle of water. My coffee was ready quickly, but I have to say I was hoping for a little better customer service. By that I mean, a smile, a little eye contact, and maybe a little enthusiasm for such a new business? The vibe in the café was a bit cold and unwelcoming. I grabbed a seat and connected to wifi which was fast. I really enjoyed my mocha and the fact that they were playing country music in the café. I feel like this place could be way cooler if they spruced up the interior vibe. The food, drinks, and alcohol are great, but the atmosphere doesn’t really fit the concept in my opinion. I can see myself stopping by again for coffee or lunch and to work on my laptop, but I don’t think I’d ever come here for a beer or glass of wine with friends. Now if there was a fireplace, or a more trendy look to the place that might be a different story. The TVs, standard tables, and lack-luster customer service kind of kill that vibe for me. Props to WHYnot for opening this café though! We definitely need more local coffee shops in the burbs and I wish them all the best. I will definitely be back when I’m in the area.

While the girl working was polite and friendly, not knowing what«dark roast» means is not a good sign. Actually did not know. When asked if they had dark roast, said«no, all our coffee is Lavazza.» Why would owners put someone alone in the shop without ANY training? Not fair to her or customers. Coffee and espresso were mediocre(calling it «expresso» also not a good sign). Did see a selection of wines and beers, but did not look closely, as we came for coffee. Funky Java still the go to coffee for the area.

Amazing food and drinks, awesome atmosphere and a very friendly and inviting staff. My new favorite place for a bite and/or a great coffee. Fast wifi, food is fresh and the service is great– what else could you ask for?

Why not _______? is a great new café. Gerardo makes you feel at home while serving up some great salads and panini’s along with some nice wine and craft beer. It has also become a regular morning coffee/espresso stop for the morning commute and nice alternative to the other coffee options out there. We have had very nice evenings there enjoying a bottle of wine or some of those craft beers and conversation with other soon to be regulars. Definitely worth a look.
