T-TAK Auto Service

Finding a new mechanic was a chore, and I came here first simply because they are located next to the car wash that I frequent. I called ahead and made my way over to this place.
The staff seemed friendly enough, although there was a significant language barrier. I managed to communicate with them that I needed the car checked out. So they did their inspection while I waited on their couch. The inspection took two hours, which they charged me quite a bit for the hourly labor rate.
A month later, I needed my oil changed. The actual charge for that was reasonable, but the mechanic claimed that he needed to check out a problem he noticed with my engine. I agreed, and he inspected it for two hours. I was again charged the exorbitant hourly labor rate. After I paid, the mechanic said that the engine needed further inspection, and that I would have to leave my car for a week. I called BS, and decided to get a second opinion. Well, I ended up getting a second and third opinion, in which I was told that there was nothing abnormal about my engine. Clearly, they were just trying to charge me an arm and a leg for a non-​existent problem. Not a cool move.
I found another shop which I go to on the regular. This is what happens when my second car is not a BMW, and I have to go searching for a different mechanic. But you live and you learn.
I don’t know if this place does the same to other customers. From what I gather on Unilocal,this is not the case with everyone. I guess I wasn’t one of their favorites.

The prices there are reasonable and they are really professional. Finally I’ll not worry that much when I have a problem with my car, I will just go to there. Thanks for the good service.

I’ve got an synthetic blend oil change for $ 25 and they did some check up too !!

My old Infiniti broke down, and I took it here mainly out of convenience. The main mechanic, Sato Jun, was very helpful and descriptive in his initial diagnosis. He was able to give a comprehensive break down on why car broke down as well as why certain parts need to be replaced. This gave me more confidence in his ability and the shops honestly. While the car was being fixed, Karen (the administrator) would call and provided daily updates on the car. Making the customer feel confident and secure about their service is something many auto shops lack. I would definitely recommend this auto shop.

T-​Tak is an up and coming auto shop in a great location just next to the Gatten Sushi in Gardena, so if you need an hour or two to spare you can stop by at a mouth-​watering Sushi joint and spend all the time you need there waiting for your car to be serviced. You can also find all the places you need within walking distance from the shop to eat, shop, and wind down before you’re ready to hit the road again. The quality of their mechanic is what the Japanese would called it «pikaichi». They also have a quick car-​wash service next to the mechanic shop and I believe if you earn enough business from them, they would be happy to provide with you a free carwash! Honestly, this is one of the finest and honest repair shop in the South Bay. Highly Recommend!

This place was recommended by my girlfriend’s friend. I needed body work done. They did a fantastic job and provided a loaner car to get around. Very fair and understanding. There was additional work/​charges that needed to be done and they gave me a heads up and asked permission to go ahead. No surprise charges. They even threw in an oil change (no charge).
They earned my business for life.

They are honest… that’s the main thing.
They even do extra work/​tweaks just out of goodwill.
Sometimes the jobs take a bit long, but at least they do an extensive inspection of the vehicle and route out any and all problems to fix. I’ve never seen such dedication to finding the problem of your car. I mean they take apart everything to make sure each component is working right and see what the exact problem is.
I suggesting making this place a Tuner spot for Tuners. Meet-​ups, and renting out the space for DIY mechanics.
I visit occasionally for advice and sometimes volunteer. It’s a great place with good people.
I’ve never met the owner, but the two guys there are great!
They have some used cars for sale, so if you’re looking, keep this place as an option as they have reasonable prices for good used cars.
