Did I just pay for half a cup of ice… Do places who serve drinks really think they’re that slick?

My favorite hang out spot! Kim(the chef) is amazing. I love the fact that we can customize drinks and even order drinks off the menu(when they are not busy). Kim let us tried the Lychee smoothie and let me tell you… Well, I can’t! I’m speechless on how amazing it is!

Only time I’ve ever said«wow» out loud after taking the first sip of a milk tea. I got the Sea Salt Jasmine Milk Tea and I wouldn’t change a thing. Perfect sweetness, boba had a mild yummy flavor and good texture, super creamy and delicious, and the sea salt crème they add on the top is absolutely Devine. My new go to boba place in the area for sure.

Five stars because… I really don’t have anything to complain! I’m happy! I ordered a Thai tea with grass jelly and boba. Now there’s not much you can do to really screw up Thai tea, except make it too sweet, too bland, etc. The drink didn’t make me feel sick after drinking it. I have gotten sick every time I drank lollicup /roasting water. I would also like to point out how they aren’t stingy on the tapioca pearls. They’re chewy, but not too chewy and the cup is filled to the top when you ask for no ice in your drink. Pretty nice!

Surprisingly good! My friends and I were looking for a new snacks/boba place so we decided to Unilocal & found this place! Came in around 7pm on a Monday night to get some snacks & it was empty. We were greeted right away by the owner(I believe) and he was very attentive & nice. Fast forward to their menu, they offered a lot of Vietnamese street food and boba drinks. Lemme tell you, I’ve been disappointed so many times by other restaurants’ street food because it didn’t taste like how it was like back home. But it’s safe to say, Kuppo did a great job on remaking Vietnamese street food(especially the banh trang!) We originally wanted to try butter rolls, but they only offer this dish on the weekends, so we ended up ordering che khuc bach + banh trang nuong + banh trang tron. Che khuc bach was decent, but banh trang nuong + tron really hit the spot. Can’t wait to come back over the weekends to try out the butter rolls and pha lau! Thank you Unilocal

This is now my go-to boba shop. It’s close to home and consistently serves up great drinks! Aside from your typical boba shop fare, this place offers some yummy Vietnamese snacks and some unique drinks as well. I love the idea of the milk tea floats, the vanilla ice cream adds another flavor level and makes the drink extra creamy. My favorites are the jasmine milk tea float and the caramel milk tea float. I like that their drinks aren’t overly sweet, especially the caramel milk tea. I’ve found that other boba shops tend to make their caramel milk tea VERYSWEET, so this is definitely something I appreciate. The store is small but nicely decorated. I read in another review that the owner painted all the artwork on the walls himself, awesome! The service is always quick and the staff is extremely friendly. They greet you the minute you walk in the door and make you feel genuinely welcome. I hope this place gets more foot traffic now that the Garden Grove Supermarket is open again, it’s a great place!

Best boba place ever!!! Came here one day after work and the place is crowded. My favorite drink is the hibiscus tea(no caffeine) with lemon and honey which is very refreshing. And I came here almost everyday. 1 star for the super friendly service 1 star for the good drink 1 star for the fast service 1 star for receiving my drink 4 minutes after ordered and paid and got my drink delivered personally to my table. Super! 1 star for the popcorn chicken only $ 1.99 with the purchase of any drink. I came again today and saw that they have provided another new menu which has more choices for drinks, food and dessert. Cool! Definitely will be back to try all of them.

Move over 7 Leaves, there’s a new(–ish) tea house in town.(fyi I’m just really out of the tea house loop, so 7 Leaves was always my default… And I know Kuppo has been open for a few months already but I just really wanted to use that intro ok) Anyway, I visited this place at around 9:30pm and the cashier guy was super upbeat(whereas most people would be tired at that time and just feel like going home to Netflix and chill/sleep). I ordered a jasmine milk tea(with sea cream and egg pudding) and a pineapple mango smoothie(or some type of tropical, fruity bev for my mom). I didn’t try my mom’s drink but she said it was really good. I enjoyed my drink a lot because they gave me so much egg pudding and the milk tea to ice ratio was 2:1(instead of 1:1 like some other tea shops in the area… You know who you are). So the price is worth it imo. My only complaint is that the sea cream had a strange mouthfeel that felt a bit filmy similar to Cool Whip. I’m not sure if it’s because they used Cool Whip or the ingredients for the cream were cheap or what, but that was the only unpleasant part about my bev. Otherwise, I loved the strong jasmine taste of the milk tea(which wasn’t too sweet or bitter) and generous amount of egg pudding. This is my new default milk tea shop.

Opens up until 11:30 pm and not midnight during weekends. Very misunderstood there. Décor is very welcoming, seatings not alot, the boba is however great Got the sea salt jasmine and it has a hint of tea in there and not alot of milk +1, the special house tea is okay, kinda bitter and sweet.(Kumquat is bleh) The cuc bach dessert is 7/10, needs some lychee juice in there and no flavor in jello. Not that bad though There are some food that are only available in the weekends so watch out for the statted items 4⁄5 stars overall because there are halo halo and other goodies that i dont have room to try yet but will update It now accepts all payments and not just cash

Went to the TMobile store next door and of course I would want to try out a new boba place. Small place with a couple wooden tables. No one was in there besides us and the guy was very nice. What we got: Passion Chaser($ 3.25): green tea with passion fruit juice. I love passion fruit! But this drink only had a hit of passion fruit and more of a green tea taste. Not too sweet though! Lychee Sparkle w/Boba($ 3.75): lychee tea with lychee and rainbow jelly. Didn’t see any of the rainbow jelly though. Not a strong lychee taste either, but better than the Passion Chaser. Maybe because this drink is sweeter though! Mixed Rice Paper/Banh Trang Tron($ 5): he asked us how spicy we wanted it and I said medium, but it was more like super hot. I could handle hot, but considering my BF was going to eat some I thought I would get it medium, but nope! I took a bite first and told my BF not to even bother trying it because I knew it was going to be too spicy for him. Came with 3 quail eggs cut in half, some dried shrimps, mango shreds, and basil. Rice paper all stuck together so it was harder to eat and hard to mix everything together. Wouldn’t get this again for sure. Service: Guy was really nice. Since it was our first time here, he didn’t rush us and explained to us the different types of drinks that they had. Brought our drinks personally to us too! Wouldn’t go out of my way to get drinks from here, but if I’m in the area then maybe I’ll stop by again.

Kuppo Tea House was on the way home so I decided to swing by and give it a try. The interior was pretty small with wooden chairs and tables. My friend sat on the chair and said that he felt like he would break them. The tables had plastic mats with pictures of random things like Raggedy Ann. felt like I was at home eating dinner. Got the Hazelnut milk tea. I thought it tasted like a regular milk tea, nothing too special about it. I was thinking about getting their specialty drink but wasn’t feeling kumquat. The guy that was taking orders and serving was pretty friendly. Overall, probably wouldn’t come back because nothing really stood out to me about this place and there’s a bunch of other tea places in the area that I’d like to go to.

Kuppo has a nice ambiance and good quality Viet style street food. I tried the thai tea float with vanilla ice cream, which is now my new favorite drink. I switch it up between that and their guava green tea with chia seeds when I’m not in the creamy kinda mood. I’d say the pricing is a taaad on the higher end, but the proximity to home makes up for it. I’m from Anaheim, where we’re a bit boba shop deprived so this location is a blessing. I definitely give them a plus for the creative wall décor, too!

First time I’ve ever heard of Milk Tea floats so of course, I had to try it! In addition, the snacks were appealing and tasty. Hazelnut Milk Float: Hazelnut milk topped with vanilla ice cream. This combination is so unique. It was milky and not at all too sweet. I had a pleasant experience with this drink! My friends also enjoyed their drinks: Thai Tea Milk Float(Thai tea with ice cream), guava tea, regular Thai iced tea. Quail Egg Cake: Surprisingly delish. It’s basically a viet version of an omelette Sautéed corn: A bit on the salty side which is probably from the shrimp. Other than that, the overall flavor was pretty good. However, a bit pricey for a small portion Fries & popcorn chicken: Fries topped with cheese, loved it! Popcorn chicken was good and it was only $ 1.99

**Kuppo has upgraded their register system, so they are now taking card as of 04/29/15!** Upon entering, I was greeted by a nice Vietnamese woman and the cashier(probably her son). They gave me a folding menu, even though there was a big menu behind the counter(I’m not complaining though, I’m as blind as a bat…) After scanning the menu, I ordered a Peachy Girl with easy ice. They only have one size, I believe it’s the standard 16 ounce cup. The peach tea itself was just a-okay. To be completely honest, it tasted a little cheap, but it was $ 2.95, so ya get what ya pay for. I loved the real peach slices inside, though! *Maddie B.‘s review did say that she felt nauseous after drinking their tea with aloe in it. I noticed that I was also pretty nauseous after drinking just the Peachy Girl. It might have just been because I was hungry, but I thought it was worth a mention.* Bottom line: Kuppo is just okay, almost subpar. I probably wouldn’t come back because Garden Grove is booming with other high-quality boba & tea places.

Unilocal challenge 201548⁄365 Huge competition in the area to deliver good coffee and tea drinks. Located off Chapman and Brookhurst in GG in the shopping center with CVS, right next door to LC pizza. This place offers a large selection of tea drinks, not so many coffee choices. The Hazelnut milk tea was decent, cold and sweet over a ton of ice. The bobba was a little off, a little on the hard side. But, bobba is hard to perfect and Im sure eventually they will get it. They offer a few food choices, which I will try at a later date. Service was friendly, but there was a language barrier with the nice counter girl when it came to small talk. She really did not speak a lot of English. Its cash only, so make sure you bring the green stuff. Review #552

Just saw Truong T.‘s review. Fine I guess I have to write mine now. First off this place has the tiniest chairs you have ever seen. How can I sit and enjoy my drink? The caramel milk tea I ordered was blah. I had so much ice that for its price I don’t think it was worth it. The boba was absolutely horrible not properly mixed well into the drink. The fact that it was also cash only was a struggle for me. The location is really clean and the customer service while new and inexperienced, was nice and friendly. I believe there is food that you can order here as well but I really didn’t care too much for it. Overall there are tons of things to improve upon, mainly for me is the taste of their drinks. It just wasn’t good for me.

New boba joint that opened up? I’m there! Its located in the same complex as Claws and Jumpa Thai. I will say I had higher expectations for the place but they just seemed disoriented probably because it did open so I’m gonna give them the benefit of the doubt. I asked the cashier what he would recommend. He looked quite confused sighh, I guess he doesn’t know what’s good either. So I ordered the caramel milk tea and waited only 5 minutes(probably less) before my drink was brought out to me. Upon first taste it was ok, not the best I’ve had. The caramel didn’t mix in well yet and it was heavy on the ice. The tables/seatings are extremely small so I have no idea how people can sit and enjoy their drinks(especially if you have a large group). Still I just don’t feel right going lower than a 3 stars because they do look like they are trying their best. It just opened too, so I wanna give them another chance. I’ll definitely be back to try another drink on the menu. Oh and yes it is cash only! PS sorry K. dot I couldn’t will myself to give them a 2 star :(

Super friendly and attentive. Black milk tea half sweetened upon request: I’m not sure because it was the request for less sweetened but you can taste the black tea which makes it delicious. Kuppo signature tea: very refreshing and surprisingly not too sweet. We didn’t try the food but it seems like majority street food like, which by all means is awesome.

A friend and I came to get snacks to sneak into the movie today. I wasn’t sure what to get, but one of the staffs made a great suggestion on the kuppo signature tea. I think it’s a must have, at least once a week, for me now. We also ordered calamari, fish balls and one of the desserts which I didn’t get the name of, but my fav of all the things we ordered was the kuppo signature tea. :D Btw, I walked in expecting to hear loud music from the reviews I’ve read, but i guess they took the suggestion and lowered the volume. Thumbs up for that.

$ 3.25 Sea Salt Jasmine — $.50 extra for boba $ 6.99 House Special Chicken Wings — Crispy, golden and fried chicken wings dipped in sweet and spicy fish sauce. — Surprisingly very good! I usually don’t order snacks when I’m at a boba place but I thought, oh heck… this place is new so I’ll test out their products and support the business. I got really hungry and ordered this and the fried calamari below. I was impressed that a new place like this really nailed it with the munchies! They have the fanciest packaging for snacks as well. It was very legit like you’re buying food from a restaurant. Usually other boba places will just package their snacks in a small plastic or paper bag. Eat this with rice at home and it will not disappoint you, my friend. $ 4.99 Fried Calamari with special house sweet and spicy sauce — As stated above this is a must order as well! Suggestions: — Plays Vietnamese music… stuff that my mom listens to on Paris By Night. A bit loud. I suggest the owner turn down the volume a little. — Offer drink bottles with caps! This is a great location because it’s right across the street from Regal Cinema. A great place for movie goers to stop by and get snacks and drinks before heading into the theater! My friends and I do this all the time! — Cash only — Has about 7 tables inside — Cute teahouse décor — Clean and spacious inside — Clean restroom — Friendly and suggestive staff — Plentiful parking spaces
