Robert was so professional and courteous. He responded to my request for an estimate right away and was able to start work quickly. He did a great job installing wallpaper in my powder room and dining room. Highly recommend!

It was a lot more challenging finding a wallpaper installer than I had anticipated. After reading some reviews I contacted Robert at A-​1 Pro. I was skeptical due to the limited availability of installers. I thought I would have to settle when I chose A-​1. I was wrong.
Robert showed up on time and the wallpaper looks great.
They will be my installer for all work like this.

I had an excellent experience with Robert and A-​1 Pro. I called on a Thursday, and Robert was able to meet me the next day for an estimate. He quoted me a fair price for the painting, helped me select a good neutral color (who knew there were so many versions of ‘white’?!), and gave me an accurate date on which he could start and how long it would take. I had an empty two bedroom condo entirely repainted, and the quality of Robert’s work was great. It took two days (two coats of paint), there was no mess left behind, and payment was via check. All in all a painless experience. I would use A-​1 again if needed.

The contractors in DC are impossible to work with. I called 8 painting companies (all were well reviewed on Unilocal), 3 called back, 2 actually gave me estimates, but one was an hour late to our appt, gave me an estimate a week late, whereas Robert was on time, gave me an estimate immediately after, and was very fair in his pricing. I’m very happy that I went with Robert in the end. He did an excellent job, was on time, and is dependable.

So impressed with Robert and the work he did. I was nervous about finding someone I could trust to do a great job installing some expensive patterned wallpaper in my entry. Robert was quick to respond to my request, gave a reasonable quote, and was able to come out a week later. He showed up on time and worked very diligently, and was courteous and professional. It was clear he had a lot of experience and was used to working with speciality papers. I’m thrilled with the end result and highly recommend him!

finding a wallpaper repair specialist turns out to be much harder in this area than expected. homeadvisor yielded no results (or callbacks). after a long search, it’s evident that there’s lots of folks who paint and can remove wallpaper, but few with the experience and talent to repair lifting seams et al in my old house.
robert did a great job, and ended up using two totally different but appropriate techniques for my two bathrooms with wallpaper issues. one of the wallpapers was more brittle while the other one was relatively easy to lift and apply new adhesive.
highly recommended!

Robert is a talented wallpaper installer and we will be using him again for more wallpaper and painting jobs. Plus, he is a lovely person! Can’t say enough good things about him.

I needed to get our powder room wallpapered and called A-​1 based on Unilocal reviews. I left a message in the morning and Robert called me back in the afternoon. I told him my situation and gave him approximate dimensions of my powder room. He gave me a VERY reasonable quote and we scheduled for him to come on a Saturday morning. That morning, he came, quickly assessed the room and went straight to work. He brought drop clothes and brought in his equipment and material. He was done in exactly the time period he said and took the time to put clear caulk on and clean up the area. Beautiful work! I would definitely ask him to come back and plan on calling him for some paint work as well.

Robert was great! He wallpapered part of my stairwell in a small rowhouse. From my first contact with him until the end of the job he was a pleasure to work with. He arrived 15 mins early ready to work. When the carpet installers arrived to work in the same stairwell (they were delayed a day) he kept his humor and made it work. His work was outstanding, he even wallpapered my light switch! I wish everyone was so competent and easy to work with. I highly recommend him!

Robert did terrific work painting and wallpapering several high-​ceiling walls in my apartment. He was able to come in very soon after I called, always showed up on time, and offered an estimate way below what I was expecting to pay. Even when I ended up changing some of my requested work at the last minute, and one of his workers cancelled on him, he still completed everything on time, on budget, and without complaint.
The quality of the work was excellent; he even cut the wallpaper perfectly to go over the electrical outlets, without my asking. One of the walls was an unusual shape, with shelves mounted to the wall and a diagonal beam across it, and the wallpaper still come out perfectly.
I have zero complaints and would eagerly recommend Robert to a friend and would hire him again myself.

Robert did an excellent job installing wallpaper on my second level. He also fixed some wallpaper that I installed myself in the office. He was efficient, friendly, and did an amazing job. I definitely recommend him, and will use his services again in the future.

I cannot even begin to express the amount of great things I have to say about Robert and his work. I began my search for someone in the area who does wallpaper, which is surprisingly few and far between for small jobs. I found Robert and after the positive reviews I decided to have him do an estimate. We spoke over the phone and discussed the job and he priced it out.
When he came in person he lowered the price of the wallpaper and painting because I have overestimated my wall size, which again just speaks very highly to his level of integrity with his work. He was very flexible with his dates and times for the painting and wallpaper job, and easy to communicate with via text message.
On the day of the job he was efficient, clean, meticulous, and did an overall amazing job. The wallpaper I ordered was also pattered and required complex cutting to line it up correctly. Robert did an incredible job on matching it up, and everyone that sees the room makes positive comments about it. I would highly recommend him for any painting or wallpaper jobs.

Robert was on time, had all his supplies, and got right to work with a difficult wallpaper job. He carefully covered any furniture in the area so it wouldn’t get soiled. He matched the pattern, made invisible seams and cut put around pipes and outlets perfectly. He even covered outlet plates and light switch plates to match up with the surrounding pattern. He wasn’t even going to break for lunch but I made him something. After finishing the job he cleaned up all scrap and glue so that everything looked great.
