JAV Remodeling

Just FYI to people in high-​rise condos: JAV apparently doesn’t do work in them. I set up an appointment for an estimate, but when I explained it was on the 5^th floor they called back and said they wouldn’t take the job. Very cordial over the phone and called back promptly to cancel.

I had Jav do another new bathroom remodel great job and very satisfied, I highly recommend them! Great service and reasonably priced and they really have a nice selection of fixtures, tile, etc.

JAV did a complete bathroom remodel for our upstairs «master’ bath. It is a very small space in a DC rowhouse, and we had them do a lot of different things so it was a difficult project, but they went above and beyond to make everything work out. Especially David, our foreman, was really helpful and able to get things done. It all looks amazing in the end with very few issues — only a couple of minor things that were sorted out pretty easily. The cost was reasonable for the amount of work done and we are very happy with our new ultra cool, modern, zen bathroom.

JAV hasn’t been horrible, but there are many things that they could have handled better that have led to our one week bathroom construction so far reaching 6 weeks without completion. Part of the issue is that their «plan» included having us wait until the last minute to pick out things like granite, etc., and so when they couldn’t find a slab of the granite we picked out, we were delayed (there are other examples of this as well). And so after the week of main construction (which went very well and left us impressed!!), we were left with multiple loose ends that they don’t seem very motivated to resolve on their own. For example, for some reason, they didn’t install the light fixture until 5 weeks after construction started, nor the shower/​tub faucets for 4 weeks after construction started. Further, the shower stopped working 5 days after it was done and, 2 weeks later, we have yet to see a plumber. Why? I have no idea.
So, that brings us to now, when I’m left following up on every single thing left to do. Multiple days go between responses to phone calls/​emails, and when they do send someone out (which sometimes takes over a week after I initiate the «request»), they only take care of one thing (like an electrician installing the aforementioned light fixture) and then leave. Then it becomes my responsibility, apparently, to keep following up to get the next thing done. I am getting very, very weary of this and just want a functional bathroom again!

JAV recently did a complete kitchen and bath remodel for me. They arrived on time, and had a complete crew at my house every day Monday through Saturday. They took my existing kitchen and bath down to the studs and rebuilt them, and installed a new powder room in an existing mud room area – all in three weeks flat and at budget. The work was very well done and looks fantastic. The people at their McLean show room are very helpful too. Highly recommended.

I COMPLETELY recommend this company. Our house was a mess and needed lots of remodeling here and there. a representative from JAV came by for a free estimated the same day we called. The prices given to us were so competitive that we couldn’t believe the much higher quotes from some other companies. JAV remodeled our kitchen, built 2 closets in our 2 bedroom, did a lot of work on the bathrooms, put a new AC/​heat unit and changed the gutter.
Work was done in a timely manner. there were NO DELAYS. they did very good job. We are now enjoying all the remodeling done to our sweet home. Try JAV Remodeling company and you will not regret. We called twice ever since that big remodeling job and had few other fixes done to the house.
