I went there twice and had the same woman… can’t remember her name anymore. So I went there for the first time trusting the Aveda name. I have thin hair but a ton of it. I just wanted a trim and root touch up and was possibly going to see about low lights. I went and the first time she called me cathleen… my name is catherine. I corrected her but she kept calling me cathleen. she told be the low lights wold cost $ 300…no thanks! So we do the trim and roots for my blond. things are going great I think until we are drying my hair. I told her before that it takes a long time for my hair to dry she told me that she could handle it. well fast forward to the end of my appointment. she has left the entire middle section of the back of my head damp. I have wavy/curly hair which meant my hair looked horrible once I got home. Call me crazy but I think that you should leave the salon looking at least as good as you came in. So the second time I go is right before my wedding, I didn’t want to go back but my mom felt it would be a good idea to go with back to keep the color consistent. So I went back and again made the reservation under the name catherine. and yet i became cathleen again. so root touch up again and then we get to the hair drying part. I tell her again trying to remind her of the last time I came and the hair disaster. but yet again she leaves the same area wet. and now I am done with that place.

I used my Groupon to winterize my hair, trim it and tone the blonde down a notch. I’ve been going to Phia and Aveda for cuts and color/highlights. Well, I got tired of paying for parking at Phia and my daughter graduated from Aveda. I love Aveda products and services so I set out to find another place to call home… with trepidations of course. I have high maintainence blonde hair and a high maintainence personality AND I know what I like, sooo… Phew, *wipes brow, heaves a sigh* I found a great little place in Stoneridge Plaza in Gahanna. Got an appointment with Nicole who is as sweet as icing on a cake :) But lemme tell ya the girl knows blonde and read my mind as to the cut!!! I love her!!! Yes, it’s a bit of a hoof, but I will gladly brave the distance and traffic to get my hair done here! Plus my daughter’s friend Kyra works here, heyyy girl!(Kyra also does quality work) The salon is light and airy without being pretentious. Wood floors, deep blue accents and a minimalist design, yeah, works for me. The music is just right and they play a mix. You will receive a relaxing hand massage, mini facial, and coffee, tea or water, of course. I can’t complain about the fees either, total win! Nicole did not ‘push’ products either, she just mentioned one or two that I could benefit from using, even told me how to mix one of them with another product I already have for maximum smoothing. The clientele is mixed, from soccer moms to tattooed, men and women. Check site for hours and they are closed on Monday. Follow them on Facebook for specials and updates. Salon Bella was a very pleasant surprise. A nice simple Aveda salon, I didn’t feel pressured to buy or that I needed to be a certain way, put on airs, stick my pinkie up when drinking tea or pose to fit in. Double win! I’ll be hanging out here when my roots start hollering«she’s not really that blonde» or I need product or a trim! And again, thank you, Nicole(and Kyra) for a wonderful 2 hours!
