I have passed by Lola’s almost every morning on my way to downtown, and I have finally made the effort to try their Mexican food. There is a large banner hanging outside on their pink roof advertising 2 tacos for $ 1.85, so on my lunch hour my friend and I decided to give it a try. We ordered two of the special(4 tacos total), and two sodas. So we waited for 30 minutes, and noticed multiple cars making their rounds in and out of the drive thru. I never understand why the drive thru is always given more priority over walk-in visitors. Finally our order came and we left to eat somewhere else since the outside tables were filthy and there was a crazy lady walking on the top of the tables. When I took the foil off the top of the plate, I couldn’t believe that I waited 30 minutes for mini tacos. Haha! I thought they were going to be full size. I do have to admit that they were absolutely delicious. I will be back to try this establishment again, and hopefully the service and cleanliness will improve by then.

Best. Tacos. Ever. This place is a pink triangle building, so whatever comes out, you know has to be good. Greasy, spicy, lovely little things.

Definitely eat here!!! This is my go to taco shop. I live right down the street and for the price you can’t beat em. Tacos are awesome as are tortas. I haven’t branched out much aside from that. But I love this place. Highly recommend. Also they are amazingly friendly. They always treat me so well. I enjoy giving them my business because they are so kind.

Underwhelmed. I was excited to try this place, since it uses an old triangle building from an ancient weinershnitzle that a favorite San Diego Taqueria used to commandeer, but, alas, it wasn’t very good. My wife got the number four– Fish tacos, rice and beans, and I got the Nachos and we shared a cheese quesadilla. Starting at the bottom, the quesadilla was really good with a soft, tasty tortilla, but was smaller than I was anticipating and had a tiny amount of cheese. So tiny that none oozed out and I could only taste it while eating. No joke. As a cheese fanatic, this was disappointing. My wife said her fish tacos were edible but she wouldn’t get them, again. Maybe still worth a try. The rice was very good, soft, and flavorful, but the beans seemed like they were standard canned refried beans, which weren’t flavorful at all. As for my nachos, I was pretty disappointed, mostly because the chips were store bought and generic. There were a good amount of canned jalapeños as well as pico, sour cream and guacamole. It was edible and I enjoyed them still, but they were below average and I wouldn’t ever get them, again. The highlight of the experience was the Horchata! It was delicious and inexpensive. I’ll definitely go back for more AND, since it’s a taco shop, I’ll definitely try the tacos next time. I just couldn’t resist the sound of nachos! :)

Terrible! I used to like this place. Lately I’ve noticed the quality hasn’t been as good as before. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and it was a gross watery greasy mess. Never going back. Ever. I’ll keep going to the one on First street it’s way better and fresh.

The food here can be good, depending on who is working. Tonight? Well, thanks for stopping mid-way and burning my burrito while you served tacos to someone that ordered after me. 10 minutes in the drive-thru for 2 burritos? Not sure if I’ll be back, and this has been a favorite place of ours for years. Get it together, Lola’s!

I won’t be back Ordered Chili Verde burrito with only meat, cheese, beans inside with chili verde on top(wet). There was no hint of green verde sauce inside or on top and 4 pieces of meat in which 1 was all fat. No plastic forks available.

Since living in the neighborhood, Lola’s Rico Taco has been our default for last-minute, budget-friendly, but deliciously satisfying option. If we could, we’d eat here all the time, but what’s the fun in that? It super convenient that they take orders by phone, and will have your order ready upon arrival. If you take a look at their menu, you’ll see at the bottom right that they do not let their food sit around and heated by lamps. The food is always fresh. Whether you’re a taco connoisseur or a hungry person on a budget, this is place to go.

Good food, slooooow service. They also got my order wrong! It shouldn’t take that long to make two tiny tacos and a cheese quesadilla. I’ve been here a handful of times before in 2013. The good was good but they were a lot faster :(

This place sucks! They charge for foil to take food to go! Who does that! The service is horrible, and the cool is really rude! 4 tacos took 10 minutes to make. Taco Bell is better!

4.65 + tax for 2 tacos, rice, beans, and fountain drink. Do you want cheap and mediocre? Come here. Do you want good? Maybe it’s good for you too. Do you want great? Try Don Pepe’s or somewhere else.

I’ve searched all over California for a better taco. I have failed. These are the best tacos I’ve ever had. The meat is soaked in flavorful juices and the salsa is excellent. AND its super cheap. I usually order 4 tacos for just over 3 bucks. It looks kind of sketchy if you drive by it but it’s DEFINITELY worth checking out.

Here’s what you should do right now: Go to Lola’s and order a combination plate with 3 tacos(asada, with onions, cilantro and salsa). It will change you. The BEST tacos in the world. I’m not kidding. The BEST.

WOW this food is hella cheap. I got a combo plate with two carne asada tacos for $ 3.49!!! No joke. The taco itself is pretty good. I’ve had better, but it’s freakin’ under $ 4! The rice and beans were good too. Although the beans were a tad salty. You seriously can not beat these prices. Will definitely have to try the tamales next time. oh yeah, CASHONLY!

This place is great. Found it on Unilocal, and haven’t looked back since. Lola’s embodies all the elements a great Mexican street food stand SHOULD embody: #1. Dirty. Does this place look dirtier than fuck? Absolutely. — check. #2. Located in a questionable area of the city. Is this in an area of town I’d like to «chillax» at after sunset? Fuck no. — check. #3. Cash only. Is the food here the one and only reason you’ll ever have to venture and find an ATM? Absolutely. — check. #4. Terrible paint job. Is the establishment painted a color that would absolutely be last on your list of color options? Fuck yes. It’s Pink. — check. #5. English is a second language(ESL). Do you have to speak VERY slow, loud, and articulate in order for your food to come out correct? You can bet on it. — check. People, the above is a checklist of what to look for when finding a reputable street taco vendor. And as you just read, Lola’s has it all. If you’re at a Mexican restaurant that doesn’t fulfill at least 4 of the 5, just go to Taco Bell and get yourself a fucking ‘Tortada’ or some other lame, recycled, excuse Taco Bell uses to validate and justify a «new» menu item. It’s HARD to find really good street tacos, trust me – I’ve tried at least a 100 different varieties through the years. Lola’s is not the hands-down BEST I’ve ever had, but they are definitely some of the better ones for the Fresno area. There’s a nice kick in the salsa that hits you initially, but doesn’t last too long or strong to the point where you don’t enjoy your food. They also have ‘crispy tacos’ that are fried, and more like a tostada, as the usual taco ingredients are placed on top of the flat, fried, and oh-so-crunchy tortilla, rather than than the regular soft tortilla that you’d come to expect from a ‘street taco.’ I absolutely love these. Does my diet? Absolutely not. Also, this place is dirt cheap. You can get two tacos for a buck-50 people. The price is great, because as Vahan’s review says, order-up at least six… because each taco can be devoured in just 2 — 3 bites. Anyways, if you need a fix for authentic, scrumptious street tacos — definitely come here and go crazy because this is my current ‘spot’ for just that. Thanks for not letting me down once again Unilocal — the one reason my monthly gym membership is a waste.

The apotheosis of «street taco stand», there are not many better places to ingloriously stuff your face with mouth watering tacos than this pink palace of dive cuisine. Sure, they recently changed their menu, which now means you’ll probably have to pay $ 5.00 to feel full, but it’s still exactly what a comfort food place should be: an odd combination of feeling thrilled and defiled at the same time. Incredibly fast and friendly service, that, like those old In-N-Out Burgers, somehow manages to fit an entire restaurant into a kitchen the size of a coat closet. If you’re going to complain about anything at Lola’s, you’re missing the point.

We were told of this place by a friend. Can’t miss it as it’s this large pink structure on the southwest corner of Blackstone and Belmont. When you can get two tacos for just $ 1.50, this is really a cheap eat. My wife and I tried almost all of their tacos(beef, chicken, pork) but avoided the less traditional meats(tongue). Got a horchata drink and ate our tacos there. They have an outdoor seating area that is shaded. To be clear, this was our first time having these type of tacos. Basically they are two small corn tortillas(about four inches in diameter) with meat and toppings on them. There’s something in the salsa that had a serious kick to it. We thought they were all good. We would come back again. Nice find.
