We bought a home with Hunter Douglas blinds a few years ago. We started having trouble with a few of our accordion blinds, such as strings snapping. Jorge at Windows and Beyond has been an invaluable help, first in getting them repaired and then most recently personally stepping in to get us a new blind at a tremendous discount. He knew that we tried to have the blind repaired many times and didn’t think it was fair for us to pay full price for a new blind. He worked the problem until he arrived at a novel solution. He got us a great price and our new blind is perfect. Over 3 years he has never let us down, but this last time he really went above and beyond the call of duty. Truly world class service, hard to find these days.

I needed my motorized blinds repaired. Jorge did great job in understanding my issue, interacting with Hunter Douglas and got the blinds’ motor repaired. I am very happy with quality of service and recommend Windows and Beyond.

I cannot stand the of the silhouette blinds that Windows & Beyond installed. I made my decision based on some BAD information given to me by their female employee. I will never return to them, and this is unfortunate because they were very good many years ago. When Doreen, the owner, worked in the Fremont location and serviced you, the service was 5-​star. She helped me on two projects that were very pleasing. However, she has since expanded and is always in the other showroom. Instead, I have worked with Jorge and another female employee. Jorge seems overwhelmed with too much work, is slow to respond, and makes you feel like you need to rush your decisions. I ended up working with the female employee who gave me some incorrect information that cost me a $ 5,000+ problem. Only go to them if Doreen is working with you exclusively.

I have Hunter Douglas blinds throughout my whole house. The blinds have been there for 14+ years now. Most of them are still in great shape. I’ve had 4 of them that need to be repaired somewhat. I brought these to Windows & Beyond in 2 separate visits. Both times the issues were handled by Jorge, a very knowledgeable, friendly, and responsible guy. On top of his great help, Hunter Douglas offers quite a few issues with life-​time warranty. In the end, the cost to me on the repair was very reasonable, and the overall experience was just great. I’m glad I bought Hunter Douglas 14 years ago, and I’m glad this little great shop, Windows & Beyond, is in my neighborhood to help me further. BTW, Jorge deserves a raise!

These guys are awesome. I was having issues with another supplier over my Hunter Douglas shade installation so I called Hunter Douglas directly seeking help. They recommended Windows and Beyond to me as a premier supplier of theirs who they felt exceptionally comfortable with recommending. Needless to say they were spot on. Windows and Beyond immediately sent out an installer to assess the problem who ordered the required replacement items. Withing less than 3 weeks the parts were in and the shade was installed. The best thing is that there was no charge to me since the issue was a manufacturing problem at the plant. The owner of Windows and Beyond told me he would work out the charges with Hunter Douglas and that I need not worry about it. 5 Stars and 2 thumbs up for Windows and Beyond. I highly recommend them and yes I will use them again.

I visited the showroom twice, once on my own then again with my husband. I spoke to Jorge both times. Jorge seemed very knowledgable and helpful in presenting what different types of window coverings might work for our home. The second time, we brought our measurements and asked for a quote by email and haven’t heard back since. We tried following up by phone twice, spoke to an actual person the first time leaving a message for Jorge. The second time I left a msg on the machine. No call back. No email. No quote. No next step to making a purchase.
At this price point, I would expect at least a response for potential buyers. I’m still interested in HD. But even if I went back in person and placed an order in person, I’d be concerned of the responsiveness/​customer service during the ordering and installation phases.

I can’t get these guys to come on phone for me. Called multiple times, never pick-​up the phone, neither return my call. Either, they are too busy or just don’t care.

Through kids playdates two panels of our sheer curtains were torn. I found Doreen and Windows & Beyond via Unilocal and called her on a Sun. Given I called during off hours I thought I would just leave a message. But Doreen actually picked up! Not only that, she spent time to talk to me about my needs and was able to e-​mail me some info that same day. Then very soon after our initial contact, she came over to our house to do the estimate. She was very open to work with me on pricing and her vast amount of knowledge on treatment is amazing. We pick these awesome and beautiful sheer window treatment to replace the ones torn by the kids. They look splendid! The installer form Windows & Beyond was also courteous and very professional. Everything was taken down and put up extremely swiftly.
I would highly recommend Doreen and her window treatment business to anyone who needs window treatment replacement.

I had a fantastic experience with this business, from the beginning to the installation of the beautiful roman shades. Doreen is a delight, very hard working and has a heart. She is out to give the best quality at the best price she can offer. She did all the measuring and offered some very good suggestions. Al, the installer, was also a wonderful person. He did his job so well, and he has a wonderful and kind personality. Most transactions of this kind are not fun, they’re usually pushing you or way too corporate. This is Doreen’s own business, and it’s great to support someone who does such an excellent job.

My real estate agent introduced me to Doreen at Windows And Beyond when I needed help decorating our home. Coincidentally, I visited an open house staged by Doreen and was impressed with her taste. Fast forward to today, Doreen has helped with all my window covering needs. Additionally, she helped me design our fireplaces, kitchen remodel, wall colors, flooring and furniture. At times, she would recommend against more expensive product as a more cost effective option was better suited for my space. I have come to trust her expert advice in color selection and design taste. My next project is to upgrade our growing child’s room and I will definitely enlist Doreen’s design help once again.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think that I would get so excited about window coverings than I did when I got my window coverings installed by Windows and Beyond. My life went from a single bachelorette to mother of three and homeowner. My better days are now spent improving the house and spending time with my family. Needless to say, my life is sorta boring now and I am now the COOL one on the block with fancy window coverings that were actually affordable.
I can’t say enough about the superior customer service and depth of knowledge that Doreen Yun has. She really knows her stuff. I went to her huge showroom in Fremont and was impressed by the different areas, the different staging for different rooms. Doreen explained what textures, shades, blinds, drapes, etc. look good for the look I wanted to go for. She also came over to my house, took measurements of my windows and gave me design tips on what window coverings looked good and how I should place my furniture. I took her suggestions and people have commented on the improvements.
Also, when the window coverings came in, Doreen was out of town at a convention of some sort. She had her assistant arrange to have someone install the window coverings. Everything was done professionally and quickly.
If you are like me and like a good bargain (I shop at Target and Costco regularly), you will thank yourself for going to Windows and Beyond. You get excellent service and a selection that no one else can beat plus the knowledge of someone who’s been in the business for at least two decades! I rarely write reviews on Unilocal,but my experience with Windows and Beyond went beyond my expectation and I wanted to share it with everyone.

I happened to run across Windows & Beyond and Doreen. Wow ! What a warehouse. It is enormous and incredibly well furnished. You can tell Doreen has impecable taste and knowledge of house furnishings and specifically window coverings. She wants to sell you what you need not neccessarily what’s the most expensve and that was very reassuring. I can put complete trust in her advise and opinion. She will meet you at anytime or day to accomadate your schedule. I will and continue to do business at Windows and Beyond and Doreen. I will recommend her to everybody.

We recently sold our 25 year old custom built home in Mission San Jose California for $ 100,000 above asking price. It sold in less than 10 days… for two reasons only… Corey Green our Rockcliff realtor and Doreen Yun of Windows And Beyond. Our realtor, Corey advised us to hire Doreen as a stager. It did the trick! Doreen came to the house took pictures and measurements then devised a staging phenomena that resulted in the most magnificent showcasing of our home. The «Beyond» in their name stands for «beyond compare! She was so informed about the specific market of Mission San Jose. We followed her every advise to the «t» and our home looked magnificent. Doreen is so easy to work with and finished the entire job in one full work day. We have nothing but rave comments for her professionalism and her deep understanding of the client desires of our unique area. I would not hesitate to choose her in a heartbeat for a staging project and for any other home interior solutions you are looking to solve. She is the BEST!!!
