Privider over-​commits and under delivers. Told me that he could fix something for 2 long years, but he was so convincing that I patiently listened. After 2 years, saw a specialist and realized what a very big mistake I made by listening and trusting the provider. Go for adjustments if you need it, however, don’t waste your time depending on the providers for PT. Go to a physical therapist for PT instead otherwise you will just delay your recovery as we did by making the mistake as I did. Check your medical bill and see that the right codes are used and that you aren’t being charged with PT codes as you go for adjustments that last for no more that 5 to 10 Mins. Providers are friendly so a 2 star.

Dr. Medina and the entire staff at Vitality health services are the best in the business. They care about the people and their way of treatments are the best. From my first visit to the last i was extremely happy with the treatment for my heel pain. Dr. Medina is extremely talented Chiropractor and I strongly recommend him for all types of injuries for consultation. I was in so much pain and i couldnt walk or stand, after just 3 sitting i could go back to my normal self. I personally thank Dr. Medina and the entire staff for their excellent care. A few weeks ago I contacted Dr. Medina because I was in so much pain… I COULD NOT MOVE let alone going to see him at their office. Long story short, I was able to see him right away which in itself was awesome. It was the most painful adjustment of my life :) but it worked like magic. I could walk around again, slowly, but most of the pain while walking was gone. He is truly gifted and I am so grateful I did not have to miss daaays of work. Not to mention he has a great personality and will make you feel very comfortable. In the consecutive treatments, he also explained my X-​rays to me very simply and clearly.

I’ve been coming here for the past few months and love my experience each time! Very clean, friendly staff, and always on time. I go here for alignment and massage appointments. I feel so much better after each visit.

Dr. Medina is the best! I got in car accident a couple of years ago and ever since then I had very bad knee pain on my left knee every time I made a movement (bent my knees). I procastinated getting treatment because I don’t like doctors or going to therapy — this is obviously a bad choice. A friend of mine recommended me this clinic. I got assigned to Dr. Medina, which to my surprise looked very young! Immediately I felt skeptical of his experience but I was already there; no turning back now! I was very nervous during my 1^st session too, so I might have been looking unconsciously for an excuse Lol. However, Dr. Medina was very professional and caring. He explained to me the whole process as he was treating me. He was very reassuring and made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. He listened to my concerns and doubts and didn’t rush at all. I was sold by how nice he treated me, and so I kept coming to my sessions. It has been some time now since I started my treatment sessions and I honestly feel much better. My knee doesn’t hurt anymore and the «crunchy» sound it made –when I bent it– is almost gone. If you are scared of doctors (like I embarrassingly am) and are looking for a highly skilled, professional chiropractor who cares about his patients, come here and ask for Dr. Medina. He truly is a master with his hands. He has magic hands and is highly skilled in his field. I cannot recommended him enough.

I was told I might need surgery for my back. Instead I searched for alternative treatments. I found this on Unilocal it was near my job too so I started my treatments here. This clinic feels more like a «spa» than a therapeutic clinic and trust me… that’s a good thing. The ambiance is very peaceful and relaxing. The staff is very nice too. But who I truly keep coming here is for Dr Medina.
He has very soft hands and is not rough like other doctors; he works along with your pain level and makes you feel very relaxed. He is a very professional and knowledgeable chiropractor. I can tell he loves his job since he’s always in a good mood unlike the other doctors who just rush you and seem to want to finish as soon as possible. 5 stars to this clinic and 6 stars to Dr. Medina.

I have been receiving therapy at this clinic for about a year now, and wow! it has made a huge difference in my life. I love staying active, but with this comes getting injured. I had pain on my IT band that carried pain to the side of my knee, then I had low back pain, and recently I injured my shoulder and upper back. Dr. Medina at Vitality has been just exceptional at alleviating my pain. He’s not the older doctor you might expect, but he sure has all of the knowledge and expertise you want from a chiropractor. And I will say, I have tried different chiropractors before. He’s very comfortable to be around too. Friendly doctor who is happy to explain everything he’s doing on you and how to also continue improving. The entire staff at Vitality are also very professional and friendly. This clinic feels very welcoming, and everyone here is so attentive and nice! They also offer massages that also feel great before the chiropractic therapy. Thank you guys at Vitality! It means so much to me to be able to go about my days without pain and to continue doing the things I love which is staying active!

Background:
I’m very active but have had my fair of injuries (torn ACL, dislocated shoulder, strains and sprains). In June 2013, I was playing a pickup game for volleyball and was playing like an all-​star (at least that’s what i thought in my head when i was diving everywhere). The next day, I could barely sit, stand, walk, or lay down. There was a pain on my lower back that shot down my left leg. IT WAS THE WORST PAIN I FELT IN MY LIFE! I immediately went to the hospital. Their treatment plan: muscle relaxer/​pain medications and stay off my feet so that my back wouldn’t get aggravated. I was in extreme pain for the next 2 – 3 weeks.
Here’s where my review comes in:
I finally decided that since it dealt with my back, it was time to go to the chiropractor. After some x-​rays, questions and tests, Dr. Shahani immediately knew what to do. Within 5 – 7 days, I was close to being 100% healthy.
On 07/​15/​2014, after training in Krav Maga, my back flared up again. Instead of going to a physician, I came straight here on 7÷16÷2014. This time Dr. Medina took care of me. By 07/​22/​2014, I recovered. CRAZY!!!
The difference:
Going to a physician, they prescribed a treatment plan that left me in pain longer than i wanted to and put me on medication that left me feeling loopy. Going to Vitality, my recovery time was faster and I didn’t have to take medication.
Recommendation:
Dr. Shahani and Dr. Medina, as well as the staff, know what they’re doing. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND choosing Vitality Health Services. I’ve already scheduled future appointments to look at other injuries that are affecting me.

This place is amazing! I’ve had nothing but great experiences. The staff is super friendly. Muriel has been great about helping me with billing and scheduling. My insurance company has been difficult and Vitality makes all of the phone calls to straighten it out. I’ve had to cancel appointments and make last second appointments and they always take care of me. I don’t even try to grab a magazine because as soon as I sit down they bring me back.
The prices seem very reasonable. Even if I didn’t have insurance and I needed to see the chiropractor, I could afford to go here. I’ve never seen a huge bill, even when the Doctor spends extra time. My wife has Kaiser insurance so we pay her bill out of pocket and it is super reasonable. She still goes occasionally even though we have to pay the full bill because it is worth it!
Most importantly, I feel great when I leave there. Dr. Shahani has helped out my neck soreness to the point where I don’t have issues anymore. Now he is helping me with my knee. It ached for a week after my Mission Peak hike. One visit and the pain was gone. The actual adjustments are quick, but aren’t they supposed to be? He adjusts my spine from top to bottom in a few minutes and I feel great. Aside from the adjustments they do electric muscle stimulation therapy, ultrasonic heat therapy, and the traction table on every visit. I’m sure they do whatever each individual patient needs to feel better.
I’ve been a patient for almost two years and I’ve had a great experience every time!

From entering the clinic all the way to leaving, I was always met with friendly staff and people who always had smiles on their faces. I didn’t have to wait more than a few minutes and the treatment i received instantly provided me with relief to issues. My adjustment with Dr. Shahani also left me feeling very loose, and the massage was quite enjoyable and relaxing also.
One thing that surprised me was that I was invited to a ‘customer appreciation day’ where the clinic put on a party for patients to meet each other, free chair massages, and for kids to play and get their faces painted. I thought it was a really personal touch and a way to get to know the staff at the clinic better. Really surprised by that.
Dr. Shahani and his staff really make my visits pleasant and more importantly. easy. I highly recommend this clinic.

My husband, who regularly goes for massages, went to the office a few months back. Of all the places he’s been to, he can’t stop raving about this practice! He said it was the best experience so far and coming from someone that’s not easily impressed, this speaks volumes.
He loved the staff and Dr. Shahani — who is very personable and well-​versed in the field, in his opinion. I’ve finally got us booked for massages for our 1-​year anniversary to see what the fuss is about for myself! ;)

I was referred to Vitality health when I was involved in car accident about a year ago. Dr. Shahani and his staff took very well care of me. I’m thankful that I found a chiro office that took my case on a lien, I know everything nowadays is on a case by case basis so I appreciate the fact that his office offers FREE-​CONSULATIONS, before I can decide on what I really wanted to do. (w/​car accidents you just never know the final outcome) so I was very grateful for that.
The atmosphere of this clinic is not your typical mundane med office, it’s very bright, welcoming and had a real positive aura about it + it always smells so fresh and so clean in there. The whole staff are super friendly and accommodating & it’s very easy to make an appointment, the therapist here are AH-​MAZING! so obviously they’ll be booked, so make sure to book in advance!
After my case settled & I got my new job, my health insurance kicked in, I knew to come back here, after experiencing the typical back ache and pain in my wrist from all the typing I do at work. I did have to do a re-​exam, which I understand b/​c since my absence w/​their clinic who knows what could’ve happened to me right? so, thumbs up for the extra precaution!
–I’m shocked at some of the negative reviews though, it’s evident the other reviewers don’t quite understand how THEIR insurance works, so I will take the time to CLARIFY.
A DEDUCTIBLE is a specified amount of money that the insured (YOU) must pay before YOUR insurance company will pay YOUR claims (visits)– PERIOD. No legit health provider will charge X amount of $ just for the hell of it, and if they do, YOU ASK THEM WHAT ITS FOR, AND 99.99% of the time it’s for YOUR deductible that you havent met yet. so I don’t think that’s vitality’s fault.
Anyhow, like another review mentioned this office is quite busy, but to me that just shows that they offer outstanding services, why else would so many people come here for their chiropractic/​massage needs?

Had all the bad experience listed below and none of the good ones. I didn’t come w/​Groupon or any coupon, just regular insurance. I guess regular insurance patient gets charged x10 times more and NO actual treatment?
1) Waited forever. There was only 1 other patient before and after me. Their schedule time is not EXACT.
2) Billed for $ 300 (=my insurance yr deductible) for just consultation. I realized the bill is ARBITRARY and determined by how much they can charge you to exhaust ALL your deductible. How did I find out? Doc said «your deductible is $ this much, and it’s your responsibility to pay this much. Also you should buy this and that …». Not this service = $ this much.
What about my pain?! Left with a hefty bill and REGRET.
Never never coming back. This place is like a used car salesmen. AVOID at all Cost.
Major UPSELL. Dude, you already took $ 300 and did nothing for my pain!

–Ended going to a Foot Massage and another chiropractor in Mountain View to deal with the pain. Wow, was surprised they were both really good and in/​out in an hour for couple weeks. Turns out no need for alignment just muscle issue (heat pack for that or go to sauna/​spa). How come I didn’t get any real diagnostic/​recommendation here?!

I am shocked by the negative reviews of this place! I have been going to vitality for months and I have had extremely positive experiences. The reception staff (in Fremont and Hayward) is excellent! They are very friendly and they do a great job with setting appointments and calling with reminders.
I have had both massages and adjustments here. Raven is by far the best massage therapist I’ve had in the Bay Area and i have massages on a regular basis! Her hands are magical! She has made my back feel great without direction from me! Book her! The other therapists are good too but she is the Best!
Dr. Shahani is also great at what he does. I was suffering from neck, shoulder, and back problems for months and after regular adjustments from him I finally began to feel normal again! He is also very knowledgeable about what he is doing.
If you are in need of relief from pain or just want to relax, this is the place to go! I tell everyone about Vitality! Oh, and the $ 35 for 60-​minutes first massage special is no joke! Try it out, you won’t regret it!

Here is an update to my first groupon review. I think Dr Shahani totally redeemed this experience.
He left me a message and called me to set up another appointment, to use the second groupon I had. Now, not many businesses do that, so that was nice.
Today, I had another brief consultation with Dr… I had bought the groupon for massage and right now I am not in need of chiropractic treatments…, but that was fine, it was brief.
Then it was to the massage right away. Maria, was the massage therapist and she was very good. I felt relaxed, after the massage.
There was not much crowd today, maybe afternoons are not busy? I hope the office keeps this up and does not book too many people and have them wait.
I really appreciated, they made an effort to change my opinion and experience. Thank you.

Not coming back ever again. The receptionist who messed up my appointment several times did it again. I finally got her name, Muriel. I showed up for my appointment, but nobody was in the office. I waited and knocked for a while. Still nobody came out. Oh, btw, they had a sign up that they’l be back in an hour! How can everyone be gone during opening hours?
I’m fed up with this place and i called and left a message to complain how they messed up so many times and I’m just so fed up. Muriel called back to say she did call and leave a message saying there is a change in my insurance and that she left a message telling me to either reschedule or pay out of pocket. I NEVER GOT A CALL NOR A VOICEMAIL!!! but I didn’t argue with her and i just told her I am not interested in any services from them ever again!
I wouldn’t have been so pissed if it was the first time. BUt it wasn’t!!! It’s been a few times! She keeps messing up! Not just her, another receptionist also messed up my appointment once.
I’d rather pay extra for some better customer service!

I think this place is awesome! I normally go to this location because it is closer to my house, and also open on Saturdays.
Dr shahani and his staff have always been very friendly, no matter when i had gone it or what for. It is a very pleasant experience to go into this office. The walls are painted a happy shade of orange and there is a waterfall right when you walk in the door, and always some type of soothing classical music playing.
This is a very busy clinic, yet when you walk in the door they are all happy to see each person and know all their names.
I had gotten new insurance and wasn’t sure if i had chiro coverage, so i called them and they got some info from me, looked it up and called me back the next day to tell me that i was covered! I usually try to make it in once every 2 weeks to get therapy and adjustments, or if needed, I’ll go more often. For massages i know you have to book in advance, but for adjustments and therapy I usually call the day before or first thing in the morning and almost every time they were able to get me in right away!
So many times in the past ive woken up with neck pain, or knee pain, and went into the clinic, got treated, and not only walked out feeling better, but also woke up the next day like a new person!

I came in with neck sore and stiffness and I left with same sore and stiffness and 1.5 hour gone. the only difference was I’m out $ 250 and put thru X ray. (which i remembered later it was radiation that I shouldn’t be put thru since I have teeth exam the next day)
***If u come for official chiro service, make sure u ask and find out what u are getting urself into.
1) How Long/​wait/​appt is, (it was long! I got in trouble at work)
2) is it only exam,
3) pricing (give them your insurance info on the phone before going, they should be able to tell you what copay is),
4) is massage included, is alignment included,
5) will there be X ray?.. etc. You should mention NO X ray if you had one already recently. It’s radiation. The doctor never asked me****
I came cuz all the great reviews. Now I realized it’s prob not «real reviews». my chiro exam was $ 250 for 1^st visit… hum… will see what happens next. i have never experienced this… still confused… why it’s $ 250 and that’s only exam. I didn’t get aligned like at other places. Other places, it’s $ 70 (for uninsured) with exam and alignment. I think i’m going back to my previous place now.
I’m waiting to see what the insurance bill/​claim is. I may have to ask the insurance co what the deal is. This was such a scary bill. I learned my lesson and will always ask even when I have insurance.
There were a lot of red flags when I was waiting. Bunch of items in the waiting room to be up sold. Doctor kept asking what my jobs was, finding what my insurance was (i detect he thinks he can charge a lot — X ray was done), I should buy this and that product his office offered. HUM… I should have walked out right then (But I was in too much pain! was still hoping for some relief/​adjustment) I found out from another doctor that X ray was not necessary.
Crap, I wish I knew it was like this before I came.

Staff is incredibly knowledgeable, and personable. Genuinely caring & concerned. I wouldn’t expect any less– as Dr. Shahani is all of these things. Extremely professional, but nowhere near stuffy. Charming & wonderful.
As soon as you walk in, you’re greeted with a welcoming feeling from reception. The ambiance is great, very soothing! Think day spa, not doctor’s office. :) The equipment & facilities are very up to date and well maintained. Above all else, these offices are clean! Not just okay, thoroughly disinfected– & it shows!
My boyfriend has known & been going to Rishi for some years & also adores him. (*****double stars*****) I really dislike any kind of unnatural healing, and cannot believe I wasn’t going to a chiropractor before. I’m very grateful to be going to THE BEST chiropractor in all of the bay area, now!
They offer spectacular services like deep tissue massage, prenatal massage (which I hear is off the hook for the preggers!) and are as flexible as can be when it comes to payment/​insurance, etcetera.
If I delved into anymore detail, my review would be ridiculously long. In closing, I highly recommend Rishi and his amazing staff (Specifically Cindy & Josh take care of us)! How could you get better than an A+?! Tell them Amanda & Eddie sent you! ;)
