I needed a space to record a video for a startup client promoting his business. The backdrop and lighting Len provides is top notch. We wanted a very professional quality look and feel for our video and we were able to achieve this in part because of the lighting Len provides.
The second part to us achieving a great look was due to the patience and time Len took to help us set up our video devices. Len expertly helped us set up our Canon Mark 5d ii and our accompanying camcorder with lavalier mic.
The final quality of our video wouldn’t have been possible without Len’s guidance and help to set the camera’s settings and composition. And I should know, Len was the second attempt at our video!

len is great. i took his nearly-​free intro DSLR photography class and it was very informative and entertaining even though i was a bit beyond the newbie level. Len helped everyone in the class, no matter what DSLR they had, which was very impressive. a little bit later i was running into intermediate photoshop/​lightroom questions so i called and asked for a 1-​on-​1 session. Len was generous to me with his knowledge and time and got my particular and somewhat obscure questions answered. I highly recommend.

I have taken several photography classes with Len, I loved everyone of them. Len always made them fun and memorable. He is very patient and very knowledgeable. I would definitely continue to take more classes as they become available. I learned a lot from him and even though I am still an amateur in photography I really enjoy my camera and have much better results because of Len. Thank you Len, you are a great teacher.

My name is Carole Wang. I’m a fashion designer originally from New York where I worked with many photographers. After moving here, I tried out a few different photographers but never really found anyone up to my standards until I met Len. He is wonderful to work with, both extremely professional and very pleasant to be around. His pictures always come out beautifully and very sharp, and he works really well with our models as well. He understood my needs very quickly and adjusted to them. My schedule can be a little crazy sometimes and I occasionally need pictures very last minute. Len always does his best to help me out. I’m so grateful to have him as my photographer, and I won’t be going to anyone else. Whatever your photography needs are, Len’s up to the job.

I’ve been going here as a model, working with different photographers, for years. I love the space because there is a ton of different lighting options, props, a changing and makeup room separate from the bathroom, which is nice.
Len and Scott are my favorite photographers there — they always make me feel welcome and confident, and perhaps most importantly, the pictures always turn out gorgeous. They are both super flexible and enthusiastic about any changes I want to make — they make me feel like I’m running the show! I have recommended the studio to my friends who have wanted to try modeling or just get professional shots done, and those that have gone have always been happy with their pictures.

LensVisions is a wonderful place to learn about photography, lighting or Photoshop/​Lightroom. Len is patient, kind, thorough and funny. I have taken many classes, workshops and had some 1:1 advice when I needed it and everything was spot on. Len gives of his time and his possessions to help people grow. I feel very fortunate to have a resource like this in my town.

I have worked with Len on several projects through the past 6 years or so. He is professional and very talented. I have posed as a model for his teachings and collaberated with him to create other amazing creations. Love this guy!

Another great lesson on photographers work flows last night. Len started charging $ 10 just recently for what used to be free class offers. This was due to the large number of folks who signed up for each of his free class but failed to show up. There are a lot of flaky peeps out there who take up spots in class while others who really want to come to class and learn are put on the waiting list and do not get to come to the class. Charging a small $ 10 fee ensures only those who are serious about learning comes. And judging from last night, it worked! It is definitely worth every penny we paid as every time I learn something new and it does not make sense that he does not charge as he has bills to pay and he needs to make a living! Now the class size is much smaller; there were only 6 of us last night, and each of us got to ask more questions and get more individual attention.
Another great lesson on how to effectively manage your work flows starting from your camera to the organization and file structures on your computer. Most of us in class use Light Room so he focused more time on that. Len is definitely a great teacher and I especially appreciate that he takes the time to explain using examples and to make sure you understand each concept, as opposed to just rushing through his course materials without knowing if the class is really learning. (This is in contrary to another class I took at another guy’s photography workshops.) He does not rush and is quite patient if the class is not getting it. He’ll explain even in more details and using more examples.
A couple months ago I also took his lighting workshop and learned about the basics of using strobe and even got some equipment from him for real cheap.
I do not understand the one star rating from someone on Unilocal.If you look around everyone gives a 5-​star rating. What she described about Len does not sound like him at all. She must have got it on a wrong date, or went to a wrong address, or whatever. Note that once you get to the location, the door is sometimes close especially in winter time as the studio is cold. You can just go ahead and open the door as it is unlocked when he has a class. Len is a very nice guy and he has been in the photography business for at least 20 years. He knows how to work with and serve clients so this negative review looks very fishy.
Anyway I found out he is going to teach a 6-​week series on Light Room in which you will learning every module including the developing module. This is what I am looking for so I am looking forward to taking the class soon.

During the past year I’ve taken a couple of Len’s classes as well as a workshop for lighting products, and I’m quite convinced there isn’t a better photography teacher out there with his knowledge about all of the technical and creative stuff we all need to know — from understanding Photoshop and Lightroom, to lighting a vase, a beautiful model, or a band of hip hop musicians.
He’s a good listener, is very helpful with his advice for anything from lighting to color correcting, understands how complicated this technical information is, and answers his students’ questions in a language that is accessible and easy to understand.

Len is an awesome instructor. It is not boring and dry, but fun and humorous. I highly recommend attending his workshops. You will certainly leave more knowledgeable. Keep up the great work Len.

I’ve taken 3 of Len’s classes (all paid!) and have enjoyed every one of them. Len is a thorough teacher and I learned a lot from him… he is easy going, give great feedback and moreover, his rates are very reasonable!

Len knows photography and knows how to teach it! He offers free and paid classes, in addition to his studio rental in Fremont. Len provides outstanding support and instruction to beginning through advanced photographers who want to take their studio and location skills to the next level. Len has taught me a lot about photography while making the learning experience fun!

Len is awesome! I’ve taken several of his classes at Chabot College. He was actually my very first photography instructor! He opened my eyes to this amazing art, which I fell in love with. Definitely check him out!
He’s quite a character!

If you want to get schooled, this is the place to go. Lighting, is Len’s specialty. As we all know, people are happier when they’re lit :). He’ll help your photos turn out just the way you want them to, if not 100xs better. If you have a goal, he’ll guide you and get you to where you want to be.

I’ve taken a few free photography classes from Len, and have now spent money to take an extended class from him. Len is a fabulous teacher, he is knowledgeable about his topic, and equally as important, he knows how to share that knowledge using easy to understand language and examples. My paid class w/​him is on friday nights, when I pretty tired from a week of work, but after 2 hours in Len’s class, I walk out with more energy than I walked in with. His enthusiasm is contagious!

Len is THE best. I’ve worked with him for years — taken classes taught by him, had him oversee shoots. You name it, this guy has done it — at least in the photography world. His studio is always accomodating, great «changing» room with big mirrors and great lighting and even qtips and paper towels. What more could you ask for?
If anyone ever needs a studio, this is the place to go! And ditto if you ever need advice on anything photography-​like.
