We have used D&D for the second time. The last time was 15yrs ago so Eric was the first painter I called since that was such a good experience. We were surprised to see how competitive his quote was compared to so many I called based on Unilocal and personal referrals. I love supporting local businesses especially those who are known for giving back to the community. We had a large job, multiple structures to be painted, plus iron work and our fence. Eric and his crew were flexible to accommodate our special requests and my personal angst about the trim color I selected that involved extra trips to our job without a single grumble. Eric and his crew were great about walking around the house with me to make sure we caught all the missed spots together and to ensure I was satisfied with their work. Eric is very professional about letting you know of schedule slips, showing up on time and making sure we were all in sync about the details. I will be having D&D coming back for a smaller interior job and he’ll always be first on my list for referrals

Eric and crew arrived to the job site when expected and immediately set out to work. They proceeded quickly and carefully, masking off parts of the building and laying tarps. Within what seemed like minutes they were painting.
The job was completed in less than a day which included clean up and some chat time after.
D&D is local to me which is important. I prefer to see local businesses do well when it’s deserved and in this case it is. I’ll definitely use them again.

We hired D&D painting to remove our old, dirty acoustic ceiling. The crew arrived on time each day and thoroughly cleaned up the mess and debris at the end of each day. D&D made sure that the furniture and floors were well protected and covered. There were no drips of paint or texture on the floors in any of the rooms. This was a big job, 3 bedrooms, vaulted stairway and sloping living room ceiling. The living room proved to be problematic; however, Erik Dokey and the crew came back on two different days to correct the issues to our complete satisfaction. We found Erik and the crew to be personable, easy to communicate with and genuinely concerned that the job come our «right». And it did ! We are very happy customers.
We plan to hire D&D to paint our home’s exterior within the next year.

D & D Painting did a great job on the exterior of our ranch-​style house — shutters and some trim different color than main part of the house and kept our white trim nice and clean. They were fast, no overspray and very professional — great job!

I had D & D quote me on 2 jobs, 1 interior and 1 exterior. I’m a big fan of using local businesses and felt good about supporting a veteran owned business so I chose D & D.
They did the interior job first. Based on this experience alone, I would give them 5 stars because they did a very neat job, clean lines, reasonable price, with no paint dripping on the floor or furniture. They were fast and friendly and offered a discount for booking the same day as the quote appointment.
On the exterior job, I give them a 3 star. A few days after they completed the exterior, I had a chance to really inspect the work. I found at least a dozen places where the paint was flaking off. I’m certainly no expert so I can’t say if it was caused by humidity or using a sprayer instead of brushes or rollers. I also pointed out a lot of gaps between the boards. He made time to come back and go over those spots but they were gone in about 20 minutes without thoroughly going over the whole exterior to find all the gaps, not just the few I pointed out. The rework seemed very rushed and I don’t think I should have to call a second time with the same request.

I had my home painted months ago by D&D and am still trying to get the overspray off my windows and their trim. Masking job was poor still finding tape that was left on. When I remove it the old house color is underneath. I have done alot of touching up myself.
Workers ran out of paint and got wrong color had the nerve to ask ME to go exchange for the right color. Eric pulled them off the job on the 2nd day at 1 P.M. to go to another job.
Never again. Rushed job to get the quick buck in my opinion. Find someone else. Sharon Kelly Discovery Bay
