History

Established in 1979.

We opened in March of 1979, and today we still see new things to work on. Our customers are wonderful to work with. We have had our foam go into space, used in movies– Free Willy 1 & 2, Anaconda, etc. We cut foam for wholesale and retail customers. Cushions, Mattresses, Packaging, Campers/R.V., Custom Cases, you name it and we can usually make it for you. No order is too big or too small. Bring in patterns if needed when you come down.

Our staff is here to help any way we can, we are a family run business and take pride in our excellent customer service. We look forward to doing business with you all.

Bob opened Bobs Foam Factory in 1979. However, he has been in the foam business for more than 40 years. He has tried, and failed, to retire 3 times. He loves his work. Loves doing new things. He will try just about everything. He is very knowledgeable about foam and can direct you in the right direction based on what you need the foam for.

Decided to stop by during my lunch to see if they could help me out in customizing some foam for my Storm Trooper helmet. I was greeted by Paul and he first asked what size i would like. We went with the one inch foam and he cut pieces for me to fit inside. I asked how much and he said don’t worry about it. Great set of guys and gals working there.

We have bought high-​resilience foam mattresses from Bob’s for years. When we went last week to replace two guest mattresses, it couldn’t have been easier. In fact, it was actually fun. We were helped right away, shown three of the most popular foams to test by lying on them. After we chose what we wanted, we watched as our mattresses were cut from a humongous block of foam that was expertly, strategically, and, yes, even gracefully, handled by two employees. The mattresses were folded into handy cylinders, secured with black film plastic. Two of them fit easily in our small suv. When we got home we put the mattresses on the bed bases and covered them with comfy, waterproof mattress pads. Buying a new mattress is so easy at Bob’s. You know exactly what you’re getting and the prices are excellent.

My husband and I drove from concord to replace our sofa cushions. When we walked in the door, we were greeted by an office gal, and taken to the shop. Everyone there was really pleasant, greeting us. The gentleman that helped us was Israel I believe. He helped us tremendously. He showed us all the options we had. We made our choice, they finished it in about 20 minutes. Our sofa is better than new! The guy who was the boss that day carried out the old cushions, and the new ones. What great customer service.
We are so pleased with bob’s that we are bringing our love seat cushions tomorrow, you won’t be disappointed. The office gals were really friendly too.

We could not be happier with the high level of customer service, professionalism, and results we received at Bob’s Foam Factory. We brought in one chair and two couch cushions and they did a fantastic job; our furniture looks like new. The chair cushion and couch cushions were pretty expensive when we bought them from Thomasville several years ago but honestly, the foam cushions they replaced them with today look even better than when we bought them brand new. Their prices were very reasonable and results were excellent. Everyone, from the girls in the office, to the owner, to everyone who works here were just as nice and professional as they could be. Not sure where to go for foam? Come here. I’m pretty sure you won’t regret it.

Had 10 seat cushions and several back cushions replaced on three couches at Bob’s Foam Factory. The quality of the foam cushions and the service we received from Rob was outstanding. Returned three cushions on 10⁄2 because we wanted to upgrade them to firmer cushions along with two new cushions for another love seat. Rob Upgraded the three returns at no additional cost and installed the new upgraded cushions at the lower price. Much to my surprise they did all five cushions in 45 minutes so I could beat the northbound commute on I-​680. Bob’s is the place to go for good old fashioned customer service, and Rob is the man to see there.

These guys know their foam. The little front office isn’t where the action is. Ask for a tour and you’ll see how they bring in the foam planks, create custom templates for each customer’s project and then use the big table cutters to create your foam pieces.
I needed a custom insert for a set of Pelican cases and they did a great job. Their expertise in foam densities and electrostatic properties is great. Can’t thank them enough!

This might be my very first review but I had to do it because this business is amazing. Super nice. Huge inventory. Willing to do custom jobs. Here is one experience that I recently had with Bobs.
About 10 years ago, I made a foam mattress for a bed of mine. The dimensions were a little different from the normal Queen. They cut it and I used it happily for 10 years. Now I have kids of my own and one just got a bunk bed. Instead of buying a new mattress, I called Bobs to see if they can cut the original down to a twin. The woman who answered confirmed that I bought it from them 10 years prior and she said, just bring it down, we’ll cut it at no charge!!!
So I took it down and an employee named Dominick helped me. He was super nice, super friendly. Almost made me wonder where the world has gone in terms of customer service. Well it still exists at Bobs. I will absolutely go back to them for any foam needs. Great business. Nice people. Great service.

Needing to replace the foam for the dining nook seats, I was glad to have found Bob’s Foam Factory on Unilocal and to see the great reviews from fellow Unilocalers.
We brought one of our chairs to the shop and was greeted by Rob. Explained our need to get new foam for five chairs, Rob brought out three options and had us sit on them so that we could determine our comfort level with each. After we selected our choice, Rob priced it out with a top layer of batting and we went with it. Rob immediately started cutting the foam, then the batting and adhered the batting to the foam for our five cushions.
Rob was very personable and offered advice on upholstering the seats. Oh, check in on Unilocal for 10% off your order. We’ve found the place where we’ll be going to get replacement foam in the future.

Wow! Bob’s Foam Factory is amazing!
I recently purchased a boat and wanted a comfortable bed for the v-​berth to make it feel like home. Not only did I get a super comfy bed with memory foam that I love but it was affordable and Bob’s went out of their way to deliver it to us and adjust the bed when it was a tad too small due to our wrong measurements-​free of charge!
I also needed an odd shaped cushion for my chaise in my boat and they quickly made those and are so comfortable!
I will definitely be going back for any other foam, cushion and mattress needs! Dominck was such a pleasure with a warm smile and the best customer service I have received in years!

These guys have just about any kind of foam you need. I actually sought them out because they are one place in our area that will actually recycle foam. I’ve seen Bob’s son twice now and he was very helpful and very positive about helping me keep my recyclable foam out of the landfill.

We love this place! We make custom gifts, and Bob’s Foam Factory has always been there to help us with our most difficult and unique requests. Everyone is friendly and helpful, especially Juan who provided excellent customer service and attention to detail when we needed a custom design for a fishing boat frame. I haven’t found anyone like Bob’s Foam Factory. They have «come to the rescue» several times for us.

I have to join the fan base for Bob’s. I got Dominick to help me and is there a friendlier, more customer service-​oriented person on the planet? I think not… Dominick is an awesome credit to Bob’s. He showed me all of my options, based on his knowledge, asked me incredibly relevant questions about what I wanted, and then proceeded to give me back my 4 leather sofa cushions that looked brand new!
Let’s break it down: The cost ($ 400) was a tiny fraction of what the original sofa cost ($ 3,500) and less than ¼ of what a new sofa would have cost (Costco similar — $ 2900)!
Bob’s is a rock– solid value to keep your sofas looking and feeling great for another 5 – 7 years. When we got home, we sat, we bounced, and lounged on what felt like a new sofa. As I said earlier — our heinies are happy!

My visit to Bob’s was way better than the one to the craft store for a foam purchase. I visited on a Saturday afternoon and was helped quickly. After calling earlier in the week for a quote I determined the cost to be significantly cheaper than at a craft store; reviewed elsewhere. The quoted price on the phone was about $ 20 more than what I ended up paying (- ½ star). The gentlemen who helped me was friendly and helpful. Although he said my project needs would be cut about ¼″ more on the length and width I found them too be ½″ less on both when I got home (–½ star). The two pieces, 31″ l x 13″ w x 5″ d, came up to $ 40 each plus tax. The craft store wanted $ 172 plus tax and I would have still had to cut them down to size at home.
I am still happy though as the cost was still almost 50% less than the aforementioned craft stores price. My order was processed quickly and the checkout was equal in duration. Overall I am satisfied with Bob’s and would happily return when necessary.

I needed a case for my imac and brought in a suitcase to have foam added, they advised me to get a pelican case (and they gave me the dimensions to get) instead, which I did and came back. It cost $ 275 (tax included) to get high quality foam fitted for the iMac, which was a little pricey, but the craftsmanship is superior. They even put in a second layer below for the keyboard, mouse and accessories and a silk like coating for the part that touches the screen, and did it all with in an afternoon! I’ll upload pics here so you can see, its remarkable work. Certainly as good as something like this gets.
