Jordan greeted us as we walked in and quickly paired us to do a tasting with Buzz. The tasting room atmosphere was classy and inviting. The selection of whites and reds featured by Buzz were well thought out and appropriate for the season. Thank you again for a lovely Valentine’s Day. Would recommend and we will see you next time.

Enjoyed a visit here with a tasting of six selections as part of a wine tour. Several of the selections were delectable. I’m told they host wine pickup parties as part of their wine club. It’s a good deal!

Great, well rounded selection from 3 vineyards. You can choose from white, holiday (mix), or red wine flight. Loved McPherson wines the best. Staffer, Monte, was excellent– very knowledgable about wines, pairings, etc and had great stories to shared. Beautiful setting– too bad we were there on cold and rainy day and couldn’t take it all in.
Will be back.

Great winery. Contemporary feel. Three additional sister wineries represented and a woman who makes chocolate candy and truffles, yum! Wine staff very knowledgeable and we learned a lot. Recommend highly to visit when in area.

Four of us showed up at 4:30 on Labor Day weekend looking to drink a glass of wine. We were told that we couldn’t consume wine after 4:30. We could do wine tasting but not buy a bottle or glass. So we left and they just lost 4 customers.

I liked one bottle of wine that I tasted here (out of six). The employee helping us taste did not seem happy to have us. The cheeses they sell are really tasty. The outdoor area is nice, and when we went they had live music. I probably would not go back because of the employees, the crowd, and the not so great wine selection.

I liked the idea of tasting choosing between the three lists for each tasting (red only, sweet wines only, and 3 red/​3 white). The wines were good, nothing so fabulous I felt compelled to buy a bottle. The outdoor area looked nice, but it was too hot to sit outside.
Like many tasting rooms, there is no place to sit, so be prepared to stand. The woman who helped us was nice enough, but not very engaged with us, so a $ 48 tasting for four lasted about 25 minutes. And like many tasting rooms, they use a measured pouring spout, so each taste is quite small — not enough to share. It was an underwhelming visit.

This place was pretty great. Minimal and clean with a professional staff. The outdoor area looked really great, featuring a covered patio near a bar offering sangria. It was too hot for us to sit outside in August, but I would recommend this venue for fall.
The wines here were lovely. Of the three list options for tastings, I chose the ‘Cellar Select’ which is a combo of three dry whites followed by three bold reds. As more of a white gal, I really enjoyed the whites. (The reds weren’t lying, they were BOLD!)
The first white was a Cabernet Sauvignon from Rendon, Texas, which was my favorite. Second favorite was the third on the list, a Viognier, (I can’t remember where from), but it had lemongrass tones and was so unique. Totally a summer wine, the first sip I took made me immediately envision myself sitting on my front porch lazily. (A different version of the same Viognier was also offered, with a sweeter grapefruit taste. I didn’t get to try it, but it sounded promising.)
I’d definitely recommend stopping in here if you’re hanging around Fredericksburg, particularly in the fall or early spring months!

First off 4.0 Cellars is a collection of 3 Texas wineries that wanted a presence in Fredericksburg. They will also allow 4.0 to carry a couple wine labels as their own. None of the wineries actually grow grapes around the area. If this is a sticking point for you, a lot of other wineries grow their wines away from Fredericksburg to include other states.
They have around 20 wines to taste that are broken into three categories to choose from. Each category has 6 wines to taste. I went with the red tasting. We ended up buying two bottles which means we approve. We got a bonus tasting of a wine that was available last week where 4.0 had a few bottles left. Service was really enjoyable.
The best part of 4.0 is you get to learn about where the wineries are located. I will be taking day trips to all three in the near future.

Another of the new kids on the vineyard block, 4.0 has a very new, modern feel to it with a nice, outdoor seating area and open tasting room.
Tasting options are somewhat more limited than other vineyards in the area because you choose from a menu of only reds, only whites, only sweet wines or a mix of white and red. A bonus, however, is that they sell many kinds of cheese and vinaigrettes with free samples.
4 stars is because the wine doesn’t come from their own location but is a combination of wines from three other different vineyards, and they have some steep competition from other more established vineyards in the area.

This place was deinifitely my favorite spot in Fredericksburg. The wine was fantastc, the patio is awesome and there is a ton of space to hang out and relax. The service was by far the best out of all the places we visited too! I couldn’t help but become a member of this wonderful place: D! Can’t wait to come back for all the wine parties!

If you going to the Hill Country for wine then you already know that there are a lot of options. I’m sure you’ve been looking on Unilocal for the best ones to go to. Most of the vineyards around Fredericksburg offer tours and tastings on site. So you’ll find yourself driving from place to place. Depending on your time constraints it can be very difficult to try them all.
Four Point Cellars is not a vineyard. It is actually a tasting room for 3 Texas wineries that aren’t in the Hill Country. Their vineyards are further north, but as you may know (or will learn) some of the best wine grapes in Texas are grown towards the north. In fact, some Hill Country wineries import those grapes.
Since this is a 3 in 1 tasting room it may not seem as intimate. You won’t be talking to the people who actually make the wine, though they are very knowledgeable. However, the trade off is that you are able to try 3 different brands in 1 stop. This means less driving. It is a good place to make as one of your later stops. But if you’re short on time, this could be your only stop.

We LOVED it!!! Jordan was awesome! Young reddish haired guy. My mom and sis joined their club. Really great experience! Five great wines and five awesome cheeses! Loved McPhearson Viognior and Pinot Noir. The Brennon red with the turquoise boots on the label was really good. I bought a bottle of Brennon port. We ran into Jordan the next day at Lincoln Street restraunt when we were having more wine and lunch with our cousin that lives in Fredericksburg with his wife and children. We had a great Christmas in in Fredericksburg!

As we headed home from a Fredericksburg getaway, we were a little short on time, but wanted to check out a winery or two. Four Point Cellars was a no-​brainer because it offers wines from three Texas wineries — McPherson, Brennan, and Lost Oak — all under one roof. The grounds are lovely with lots of beautifully landscaped outdoor space, shaded areas, and rocking chairs aplenty. The tasting room itself is HUGE and modern with a nice selection of foodstuffs from local purveyors on sale alongside the wine.
Four Point offers three $ 10 tastings: a sweet flight, a red flight, and the «cellar select» which is composed of three whites followed by three reds. We went with the latter choice in order to try a wider variety. None of the wines knocked our socks off, but there were a few highly drinkable pours, including the Chansa (McPherson’s wine club label) Destiny White. Plus, Joe, the fellow who helped us, was delightful and knowledgeable.
Four Point Cellars is a worthwhile stop when planning your next wine tasting excursion along 290.

Four Point Cellars is a unique tasting room experience that provides a fourth spot for Hill Country area residents to enjoy three different «farther north» Texas wineries — Brennan Vineyards, Lost Oak Winery, and McPherson. The owners of these three smaller production wineries were friends, got together, and wanted to create an opportunity for others to taste their wine.
Because this is a tasting room, the experience here is a bit different, not to be confused with the majority of other on site winery tasting experiences along the 290. The selection of wine available does vary, and the staff do their best to keep up to date on the information. Because of this, the experience can be seen as less informative and intimate as you aren’t speaking with the actual wine makers or winery staff themselves. They are large, so can accommodate the typical large tour busses that come through on the weekends, and have a large outdoor pavilion area. They have a small retail shop, Hill Country local vinegars and olive oil to taste, and a great cheese case showcasing the artisan raw milk cheeses of Veldhuizen Cheese Shoppe from Dublin TX. The average price for a bottle of wine here when compared to other Texan wineries is medium, around the $ 18 – 25 range.
Their is no one winery that stands out amongst the three, they all compliment each other well, and offer something for different style taste pallets. They have three ever changing tasting menus (Sweet, Cellar Selection, and All Red), so you can have a different experience each time you go. If you like a more quieter setting, definitely come on a Sunday. Each tasting menu showcases 6 different wines, the red list is $ 12, and the other two $ 10. My friend and I each got a different menu, and then shared a sweet tasting. The staff were super friendly, and we really enjoyed our taste adventure with them.
Overall, I liked the wine from each of the three wineries, there wasn’t anything that I disliked. Overall typical Texan fruitier styled wines. There were a couple of stand outs though that I enjoyed — the Red Roan from Lost Oak, French Colombard from McPherson, and Winemaker’s Choice from Brennan.
The sweet wine list though was a hit for me. I enjoyed the majority of wines from that list. My two favorites were the patio Sangria (McPherson) and Dark Obsession (Lost Oak), followed closely by the Shy Blush (McPherson). They actually had a Sweet Wine club membership, which my friend and I shared at the 3 bottle limit. You get 15% off all wine, complimentary tastings 4 people per visit, 10% off merchandise, two complimentary tastings and 10% off at the 3 different vineyard locations, pick up events, and a free glass of wine when visiting 4.0. A great wine club membership for those of us Sweet Wine lovers, which enables you to return and use your membership to enjoy tastings of anything.
I think that together these three wineries stand stronger.

4.0 in Fredericksburg houses wines from three different Texas area vineyards: Lost Oak, Brennan, and McPherson… so kind of a threefor stop. Tastings are $ 10 for your choice of 6 from three tasting menus: dry red, dry white, and sweet. They really seem to like the number 3. I can’t recall exactly which wines I chose. All were OK. Nothing particularly memorable. Just the «average, what you would expect for up and coming Texas wines.»
The winery itself felt sterile. A very large new facility with a massive tasting room, separate room for events, and a fantastic outdoor space where they can host live music (none the day we visited) and you can sip wine. The winery just lacks «character.» I’m not certain if it’s because it’s so new (I think open for just under 3 years), the fact that the staff was friendly yet kind of dull, or maybe seemed so blah on the day we went because the place was relatively dead and there wasn’t any food or music. Just not as enjoyable as several of the other wineries in the F*Burg area — regardless of the quality of the wine.
From other reviews, it appears Saturday is the day to visit. Will certainly give it another try when in the area. I can see the potential for a good time.
Note: 4.0 is open until 6, most others close at 5.

We stopped at three wineries this past weekend and Four Points was by far my favorite. The atmosphere here is hip and new (very clean, modern), while being laid back. The energy was buzzing and we were greeted by happy faces. There were two guitarists entertaining the crowd and they even sang happy birthday to our friend. I tried their whites and I wish I could remember all that I tried, but there was one that had a hint of apricots and I think I liked that the most. One tasted of herbs, and two others were too sweet for me. I’m sorry for not providing better details here…
My friends and I were being served/​assisted by Kelby — a nice, young guy. He was a hit with many of the ladies there. During our tasting, a woman kept on coming over and whispering in his ear! Anywho… the wines were good, the people were hospitable and we all had a very good time.
I would visit Four Point Cellars again.

I wonder if some of the 5 star reviews were folks that were on stop #3 or 4 on the wine tasting trip…
Yes, the facility looks great. Yes you will have high expectations when you walk in. The tasting fee is above average for the area.
However the service was awful. I didn’t ask, but there is no way the people working there can actually be sommelier’s. I assume they hire anybody to just pour the wine because other than «where the wine is from», neither person behind the bar could answer a single question about what we were sampling. I’m by no means an expert myself, but a «what’s in this blend» shouldn’t be that hard to answer (looked at label. hmmm… I’m not sure)
We’ll try again someday because what we’ve found on the 290 wine trail is that going back to the same place a year later can be night and day… but for this day, 4.0 struck out.

Quick Tips: I came here on Amy D.‘s suggestion and I was really glad I did! Really nice, knowledgeable servers. Tastings are $ 10 for 6 pre-​selected wines. You can pick from two tasting menus. While both tasting menus both contain red and white wine, one menu has bolder wines (Cellar Selection) and the other has lighter wines (Light and Sweet). They also have bottles of San Saba olive oil for sale along with tastings. I bought a bottle of the Tomato, Garlic and Parmesan cheese one and I LOVE IT! My friends are I couldn’t tear away from the Olive Oil tasting.
Wines: They have wines from a variety of wineries which gave us a nice selection. McPherson Cellars, Brennan Vineyards, and Lost Oak Wineries. Mr. Brennan was actually in the winery and we got talk to him for a little while about the Texas winery market. The Chardonnay by Brennan Vineyards, was so creamy, I’ve never called a Chardonnay creamy before!
Service: Great service, our server Isabelle was so funny. She also gave us three extra bonus pours!
Ambiance: Perfect place to hang out with a picnic. I didn’t get to see the live music, but I know they have it available on Saturday evenings.
