The Music Connection offers quality Music & Art programs for children & adults in the south, southwest and western suburbs of the Chicagoland area.

Private music lessons for violin, viola, cello, bass, guitar, piano, voice, clarinet and harp. Group classes for some instruments and art classes through The Art Link. Our art classes are offered on the weekends. Children can unwind from their school week, explore art, and parents can get some relaxing done and some errands run!

History

Established in 2004.

The Music Connection opened in 2004, providing string and piano instruction to 60 students. Today, the company serves more than 400 students, and is expanding both its facility and its repertoire of music education. Over the years, Kuester has added a facility in Frankfort, and expanded the Orland Park location to an 1800-​square-​foot facility complete with studios, offices and a large rehearsal room for the chamber orchestra program. This growth is due much to owner Janet Kueseter’s philosophy of mentoring, for not only her students, but also her teachers and parents of students. Parents are welcome to attend lessons with their children. «We believe a family supports the culture of music through encouragement,» she said. «Presence and participation, daily practice, enthusiasm and attendance of concerts are key to nurturing a child’s success.»

Business Owner

Janet Kuester is the Director of The Music Connection, providing outstanding leadership and artistic development for all of The Music Connection’s programs and events.

Mrs. Kuester brings experience and quality to The Music Connection as a distinguished faculty member. She has taught violin and piano for more than 40 years and is a member of the Chicago Federation of Musicians, Suzuki Association of the Americas and the National Guild of Piano Teachers.

Mrs. Kuester received her music degree from De Paul University and is a certified Suzuki piano and violin teacher. She has performed with the Lake Forest Symphony, Schubert Woods String Quartet, and the Waukegan, DePaul, Chicago Civic, Chicago Heights, Kankakee and Illinois Philharmonic Orchestras.
