Pat and his team have installed several windows for us in our home and rental properties. Each time, Pat took time to review options with us to get the correct window to complete the project. Pat’s crew was very professional and left our home clean with the new Windows installed.
He has also installed Windows for several of our neighbors with great results!

My wife and I have recently had a lot of work done on our home. When we decided to replace the two windows and the sliding door in our family room, we checked out several providers and decided to contract with Cal Rep in Fountain Valley. That was a wise decision on our part. Pat, the owner, personally came out to do the measurements. His experience in this industry was very obvious as he explained every detail involved in replacing our door and windows. Because of the age of our existing windows and door and the poor quality of the original installation, it was necessary to do a complete replacement and not just a retrofit. Mark, the installer, and his crew did an amazing job. Everything was installed perfectly and the stucco work was flawless. We were very pleased with the whole process from start to finish. Everyone is very professional and we highly recommend Cal Rep to anyone who is looking to replace windows or doors and wants the job done right.

Jeff and his crew just left after installing all new windows, including 4 huges sliding glass doors in our condo. The whole experience has been amazing!
1) The owner, Pat does the estimates personally, and he spends a great deal of time taking careful, precise measurments. He also explains the difference between the various windows they sell, and how the entire process will work. The price was the best of the 3 estimates we got.
2) I was told that the windows would be ready in 3 weeks, and they actually were! They scheduled the installation and actually showed up on time and with everything they needed.
3) The price quoted was exactly what we paid… no last minute up-​charges.
4) I am very picky, and I have to say, the windows were installed PERFECTLY! No gaps, very neat caulking, no dents or scratches on any of the window frames, and the walls and surrounding areas were not damaged in any way.
5) Finally, I read here on Unilocal that they do a very good job of cleaning up before they leave. Unbelievably, it’s true. They cleaned practically my whole house… the windows are sparkling, and they dusted, vacuumed and wiped down the wood floors. They even swept the garage floor better than it’s ever been swept. As a matter of fact, the whole house is cleaner than when they got here!
Kudos to a company that takes pride in a thorough job, done correctly at a reasonable price.
Everyone from Pat (the owner), Denise and Louis (in the office), to Jeff, Jose and Libo (the installers) are knowledgeable, professional and helpful.
By the way, Jeff gave us some great advice about door installation. He noticed that we are in the middle of installing a new door from the house to the garage, and he went out of his way to give us a couple of pointers that will make the job easier and better! Not many people will go out of their way like that to help!

I had a 10′ sliding door that I needed to replace, as well as two other windows. I called California Replacement Windows and I’m so glad I did.
First, Louis came out to give us an estimate. He measured and presented us with two different brand options. He explained the difference between the Milgard and Simonton brands and left brochures. Soon, he emailed me the estimate, and I was astonished at the price. It was only slightly higher than previous estimates that I’d obtained in the past for just replacing the large sliding door!
We went with the Milgards. They are slightly higher in price but I have Milgards in the rest of the house, and they have a great warranty and I’ve been very happy with them. So a few days after getting the estimate, I dropped off a deposit and Louis got the order in process. He soon after called with the installation date. By the way, Louis sent another installer to verify his measurements — I thought that was a nice touch. Measure twice, cut once, as they say.
From the time of deposit to the installation was approximately three weeks, which was exactly what I had been told at the outset. This morning, Mark and his crew showed up on time and ready to work. Two hours later, our windows were installed! Mark and the crew did a great installation, but they also took care to put down drop cloths, and the vacuumed up any dust that came up from the removal and installation. The whole crew obviously have a ton of experience, and the professionalism really showed! The new patio door and windows look great and we couldn’t be happier.

After seeing the terrific job he did for our neighbors we decided to call him for an estimate. Pat absolutely shocked us, He inspected the windows and then told us what we needed to do as they did not really need to be replaced. Honestly like that is almost unheard of anymore. I highly recommend him. Our neighbors were also very impressed with the cleanup.

Our house had some very old 1950’s era windows that were ugly and falling apart. We shopped around for new windows and received 5 bids from 5 different contractors. Cal Rep and Pat Sullivan were by far the stand out.
Pat came out to the house to explain the different options and recommended doing a retrofit, which in essence cutting out the old window and installing a new window without having to remove any of the exterior of the structure. I was a bit skeptical since I had never heard of this particular process of installing windows. After debating between the retrofit and doing a nail in installation, we went ahead with the retrofit.
We eventually signed and got an install date. Mark and his guys came out and had all the windows done in one day. (We 8 windows done) They were clean and very professional. All in all, the windows look great and came out better than expected. The only downside of a retrofit is that you do lose some window area compared to the old window, but as long as the window aren’t particularly small, you won’t notice much of a difference.
Another note is that Cal Rep does not engage in high pressure sales tactics. This is common with some contractors and a couple that we had come out and bid. It’s a complete turn off and usually result in inflated prices in the end. Cal Rep is professional and their prices are very competitive.

Look no further if you need window replacement. Call Pat of Calrep FV. We are doing lot of remodeling with our house, but we don’t know any contractors so we went to Unilocal community for help. Calrep got very good rating so I contacted them. Within couple days Pat gave us a free estimates as scheduled. I even visited their show room, where the sales rep provided a very detail installation procedures. I waited one months before contacting them again, after researching thru other companies. Pat remember exactly what we had and also made recommendations on couple of tricky windows we had. Their price is very reasonable and competitive. On the day of installation, The crew of 4 was so efficient. They covered the floor where they’ll work on, removed the old window, put new ones in, and cleaned up. No delay at all. I love my 9 new windows. I’ve 3 window that are pretty new so I didn’t replace them, I think I might just call them back and get those done too. I was told these windows have life time warrantee. I would recommend them to anyone even my mother!

This is the first review that I’ve written on Unilocal and if I had been able to give California Replacement Windows and Pat Sullivan 6 stars, I would have. I recently purchased a home in Huntington Beach and the home inspector said that I had to replace many of the windows in the house (based on damage from being close to the ocean). I called CRW and scheduled an appointment with Pat today — fully expecting that I would have to replace many of the windows in the house. Instead of trying to sell me replacement windows that I didn’t need, Pat explained that the windows were actually in decent condition and really only needed painting! I was so deeply impressed that I felt that I had to write a review! Thankfully, I don’t need to replace any windows now, but if/​when I do, Pat is the only call I will make!

Here it is almost a year later and we finally called Pat Sullivan again who came out and measured for the rest of the windows in our home. We actually did this in three stages as we thought we were just going to do the back of our house, but when we saw the quality of the windows and how much cooler they were in the summer, we decided to do the side of the house and now the 10 remaining windows at the other side and front. They did a wonderful job. I left them working here, and when I came home, the house was vacuumed and completely cleaned up. I don’t ususally like to leave people working in my home while I am not there, but I trusted them and the job was perfect. Thank You so Much. Its well worth it to replace your old windows.

We had our church’s old aluminum windows replaced a few months back. Everyone is so happy with our results! Pat is extremely easy to work with and offered invaluable input and information. Instalation was a breeze… for us. Large amount of windows replaced in less than one day leaving NO mess behind. Windows were spotless and installed perfectly. Would without a doubt use him again!

We have a 1939 cottage with all original windows. California Windows replaced them all in one day! The product is amazing and a perfect fit, the service is exceptional and the over all experience was a delight. Thank you for an awesome job, perfectly done!

11÷13÷14 — Update
Pat the owner came out to my house and discussed my experience. He was very apologetic, and told me my situation was unusual. He explained what went wrong with the original measurements. Since then, the correct sized windows were installed well and I am pleased with the results. Pat also gave me a refund because of the mistake and the inconvenience for an additional installation day. Bottom line was that I felt Pat was sincere and he does care about quality of each job. No one is perfect and the company owned up to the error, fixed the problem and paid for my frustration. That’s fair, so thanks Pat and I may buy more Windows from CalRep in the near future.
11÷7÷14 — Original Review
I have several big problems with this company. (1) Louis the guy they sent out messed up measuring 2 out of the 3 windows, so when they brought the new windows out they were the wrong size. (2) Instead of telling me they were wrong, the installers tried to slam them in and put the moulding on quickly so I would not notice. (3) They hung one of the windows crooked. (4) I was angry and called the owner Pat to complain but he didn’t even bother to call back. I guess they have plenty of business and can get away with this behavior.
Fortunately, I caught the huge mistake and stopped the installation immediately and made them get the right size and come back and do it right. IMO, there are a LOT of other window vendors that do exactly the same thing. Home Depot has the exact same windows as CalRep. You want a company that has integrity in their work. You want a company that cares as much about your home as their own. This is not the company.

We initially had Cal Replacement Windows come out over a year ago to give us a quote for the whole house but other things came up on our end so we had to put the project off. Fast forward to a year later and we decided to just replace 2 sliders and 3 windows vs the whole house… the company did not try to make us feel like this was a mistake or upsell us on this decision which was nice. My husband and I loved that the owner, Pat Sullivan, is directly involved with the customers. He is very responsive, comes across as very honest and he doesn’t try to upsell you. Their prices are very fair and extremely competitive because they don’t advertise. The job was done when they said it would be and the installers did a great job and didn’t leave a mess. True professionals.

I could not be happier with my new windows and sliders! This project was a long time coming and when I was finally ready I asked my brother-​in-​laws parents for the information on who did their windows because of the great things they had to say about their service. It also was important to me to use someone that was a reference because you never know what you could end up with when doing a blind search. Once I had their info I also looked on Unilocal and saw a lot of great reviews so I made the call and am so happy with the outcome. The installation crew was amazing, total perfectionist. Jeff Jones, Jose and Laeo did such a wonderful job and it was not an easy task. Because of the way my condo development is set up they had to bring my sliders over the second floor balcony. It was a lot of work but the end result is beautiful!!! Thank you to my install crew! Great job!

If I could give 10 stars, I would.
Had 30 windows and 4 sliding doors replace — BIG PROJECT. Almost all the windows had to be tempered and we have 4 huge picture windows. EXPENSIVE PROJECT.
We got 4 bids, using the following companies:
1. American Vision — decent price but wow, the sales man was pushy. We liked Am Vis. Their installers are direct employees.
2. Pella — crazy high price (like 3−4x more expensive than everyone else)
3. Home Depot — nice sales person, not pushy. But did NOT like the fact that their installers were not direct employees. Too many bad reviews online. Ultimately, we felt that the quality of the install was almost more important than the actual window they were installing, so Home Depot was out.
4. Cal Rep — we decided to get a price from them as a last minute thing after finding them on Unilocal.
So glad we did.
Unlike the other companies, Cal Rep is a smaller, family owned business. You really get a personal touch during the entire process. Pat Sullivan from Cal Rep is awesome. He’s the owner of the company and he was there every single step of the project. From the initial bid to completion. With the other companies, once the sales person closes the deal and gets his commission, you can bet you’ll never see or hear from them again.
Unlike the other companies’ sales people, he actually knows how to install windows himself. The other companies just measured and plugged everything into their little computer and spit out a price. Pat really took his time to analyze the situation and what it was going to take to install make a good install. He looked at the condition of the framework, the locations of the windows, the path of travel to get to the windows.
He brought up potential issues he saw with our install so we could figure out solutions BEFORE the job. For instance, the frames for our sliding glass doors leading to an enclosed atrium would not fit through our front door, so we had to figure out a way to get them in (we ended up needing to bring them over a roof). None of the other vendors forsaw that. But since Pat did, we figured everything out and coordinated with our neighbor for access over the roof. It went off without a hitch due to the planning.
You can tell her really knows his stuff and is very thoughtful in his recommendations. He is not high pressure. In fact, he gave some recommendations for windows that we didn’t need to change out. You can tell he’s not looking to make a quick commission and sale, he’s really looking to turn you into a satisfied customer so you’ll refer him to your friends and family. He sees the long term value in building relationships and treating his customers right.
Pat visited the job site each day to check on the progress. Wouldn’t have gotten that with the other sales people!
Jeff, the foreman was great. Very meticulous. The entire crew was awesome. All were very courteous and professional, They cleaned up after themselves each day and left the job site tidy.
All their installers are direct employees, and almost all of them have been with the company for over 10 years. That says a lot. It tells me they treat their employees well which also tells me their employees are happy employees. Happy employees are more likely to do a better job. Also, it tells me that their installers will have pride and be careful with their work because they are trying to maintain a reputation (unlike contracted installers ala Home Depot)
Finally, Cal Rep offered use the Simonton Daylight Max window, which was a much slimmer frame that other retrofit windows. We are lucky to have a nice view at our house, so the ability to maximize the glass line was a HUGE part of the consideration.
We were not completely price driven. In fact, we might have been willing to pay a little bit of a premium for the Simonton window because of the smaller frame and our desire to maximize our view. However, to our pleasant surprise, Cal Rep’s price also happened to be the lowest.
So how often is it that the lowest price also provides the best product and customer service? Cal Rep is one of those few companies — they really are THAT GOOD.
The new windows and doors are AMAZING… We knew they would make a difference, but you don’t realize how big of a difference it makes until you install them. WOW WOW WOW.

I was extremely satisfied from the start. I got this company listing from my Wells Fargo bank because I have home projects financing, and this company happily accepts that financing! The owner pat came out, measured the windows accurately by taking screens out (double checking the measurements). I had a quote from Home Depot about 2 hours before my appointment with pat. I instantly trusted pat right away and knew he was the right guy and his company for the job. I got my quote, and ordered the windows 1 day after my quote! The crew came out on Monday, and they were on time, and did a WONDERFUL job! Very friendly trustworthy people to have in my home. They were clean, careful, and accurate as well with the install! They made sure I understood how to take the screens out properly, work the keyed slider entry, etc! If anybody needs new windows and sliders, give this company the opportunity to make you happy and satisfied! I never do reviews on Unilocal,but I believe that pat and his team deserve this 5 star review! Thanks team!!!

We had 10 windows and a slider installed by CRW. The owner Pat and staff are amazing and very knowledgeable. Pat came out to do the measurements and was very meticulous. The installers, Mike and company (Art, Trevor, Christian, and Carlos) were very professional, clean, and courteous. Wonderful experience and the price was very competitive! I highly recommend.
I had quotes from numerous companies, including Home Depot. Do yourself a favor and go with the BEST!
