WOW. This has got to be the most intense 30 minutes I’ve ever done in my life!!! Thank you to Leo for pushing both my friend and I to try our hardest with each round! I thought it was really cool and fun how Leo customized our 9 rounds for a partner workout! It’s a pretty intense 30 minute HIIT session so I can definitely see people losing weight very quickly if they stay consistent with coming in every week. I would definitely recommend it! If you’re new to kickboxing no worries! It’s very beginner friendly and is a good introduction to kickboxing. I wish there was more technique involved but I can understand this is more of cardio kickboxing class than a technical one. Either way, it was fun and challenging! :) thank you!

I love 9round and strongly recommend to everyone who is looking for «real Cardio». This program is not only intensive but also a lot fun, it makes you feel great after 30mins Cardio. If u wanna be fit, be more attractive and be stronger than someone spends hours lifting weights at the gym. You should try this program:-)

I got started at the Costa Mesa 9 Round location, but wasn’t a fan of the lack of space and the trainers seemed scatter-​brained and not all that attentive. On the plus side, I did like the workout. I found the Fountain Valley location through a Groupon deal and wanted to give the place a try. That was almost a year ago and I haven’t looked back. I enjoy all the trainers, they are very encouraging and work with you. My work schedule and priorities change from week to week, so I love that I can come in and get that intense 30 minute workout whenever. Did I mention the exercises in each round changes daily? There’s no way you can get bored with all the great stuff 9 Round Fountain Valley offers.

I love this place. The workout times are so convenient to my busy schedule. The instructors are amazing and care about you and want to help you get results.

There is no reason to wait. You need to start now. Great people, amazing workout, fabulous trainers, supportive atmosphere… results will come. I walked in because I wanted to see a change in me. You can’t walk out without feeling like change is happening. You will be inspired!

I have been at 9 Round Brookhurst since September 2015. I have lost 6.2% body fat during its 6 weeks body fat challenge. It was an incredible weigh loss journey with the help of both coaches Fletcher and Vaughn. They are wonderful staffs. They pushed all of us to our limits and more. 9 Round Brookhurst has friendly and supportive people (members). We cheer and push each other through each round. We laugh and yet we sweat a lot!

LOVE THIS PLACE! I wish Riza had one of these in Huntington, Seal, and Long Beach too! I would be going every freaking day if it was closer to me!
If you’re looking for a good way to start your journey into getting into shape, I highly recommend 9Round! The work out is super effective, but it’s only 30 minutes, and there are no class times, so you just drop in whenevers convenient and get your sweat on! There are always at least one (usually 2 – 3 trainers around) to tell you how to do things and push you forward into a better workout! You’d have to be pretty rich to pay for that kind of personalized training!
If you’re already an athlete, I think you’d probably still get a great workout here too! They change it up EVERY DAY! It’s always new, and always challenging! and it looks like they throw some ringers at you if you get too comfortable doing anything (thank goodness this hasn’t happened to me yet, I’m already challenged!)

9 Round is awesome! Here are the reasons why!
1. No class time: you can start whenever you’d like. No more being late for classes or missing classes with a fee like at most other group gym classes.
2. The trainers are very knowledgeable and super friendly!
3. It’s a great workout in only 30 minutes! But… if you want to stay longer, you totally can!
4. The price is definitely reasonable compared to other monthly membership group workouts!
5. Anyone can do it! Whether you have never worked out or you’re a seasoned pro… you work out at your own pace!

I had been hearing around town what a great workout 9 Round was and I was very curious. I decided to go and see what all the hype was about and I can honestly say this place kicked my booty! I had the best workout of my life. The thing I hate about working out normally is that I get bored easily. There is no way on God’s green Earth that anyone could get bored at this place. The trainers were inspiring, helpful and kept me going every step of the way. I absolutely will be making this my new workout routine. LOVED IT!!!

This place makes me love working out. There’s no set schedule, so I can keep up with going, when my daily schedule changes or I get out of work late. The 30 minute work out is over before I know it, which is also great! The circuit is set up for people who want to challenge themselves, or who are getting back in the swing like I was.
Only nice people come there who say hello and who want to see you succeed or become friends. The staff is super helpful and the work out always varies. The trainers are AWESOME! Cannot say enough good things about their hearts and drive!

I can’t say enough good things about 9round! It’s made me love working out again. First of all, there is no class times and it’s only 30 minutes! Which works perfectly for me because I have two kids and I never know what the day will bring. Plus, I don’t feel rushed to get there and it’s a quick effective workout. I recently lost 6.5% body fat in 6 weeks!
Also, the trainers are amazing! They really take the time to show you the correct way to do the workout and can modify if needed. I can also stay longer if I choose if I have the time. I’m not limited to 30 minutes and the trainers are always willing to show me some great strength training workouts.
So come in for your free first time workout! You won’t regret it!

If you are looking for a quick workout that has you dripping sweat, this is the place to go! Absolutely love working out here! The trainers on staff are all amazing and are so motivating. They really help and encourage you to push hard and get the best out of your workouts! The facility is also kept very clean and I notice them clean throughout the workouts as well!

Since the beginning of the new year, I’ve always wanted to enroll myself into a cardio kickboxing program. But I didn’t think that I could commit to a program because I was scared of making a fool out of myself and I didn’t think that I could handle it. After two months of procrastinating and saying that I’d join when I’m ready, my friend Melyssa actually asked me to come with her. So I did.
My first day here was last Tuesday. I was pretty hesitant to join because I was intimated by the atmosphere, the other members, and the trainers. But after jumping right into it, I was surprised. The trainers are AMAZING! They worked with me and showed me the proper techniques without any judgement and encouraged me to do better. I was so scared that they were going to laugh at the way I punched! Lol. But they didn’t. I love the intensity of the circuit — it’s challenging, but that’s the only way you’ll see results. Michael definitely left an impression on me during my first day. He’s an awesome trainer.
Because it was my first time ever participating in a cardio kickboxing class, I thought it would be ideal for me to try another gym to have something to compare it to. But the other gym that I tried had nothing on 9Round.
9Round is well organized and it’s obvious that the trainers know what they are doing. They adjust the program depending on your fitness level and they aren’t afraid to push you to do better. They are all amazing people who truly want you to be in the best shape that you can possible be in. I believe that the circuits restart every 3 minutes, so you can literally come in at anytime and jump right in when you are ready. Also, I love their playlists! #WorkWorkWorkWorkWork
I love this place and I’m so happy that I already found a program that I enjoy! I’m now on my sixth day and I already feel like I’m a part of the 9Round family. I love it so much, that I literally drove for an hour in traffic from Fullerton yesterday, right after doing an 11-​hour shift, just to come and train. Michael was there and, once again, he killed me. After finishing my circuit, he grabbed me from the sitting area and told me to do a weighted squat with shoulder presses/​weighted wall squat-​routine for ten minutes. Thank God Beyonce came on during my last set because I don’t think I would’ve been able to finish it otherwise. Lol.
Although it may seem pricey, I truly believe that it’s totally worth it. As long as you stay dedicated to your fitness/​health goals, you’ll get there with the help of the incredible staff. You can do it! Now join us!!!

Cool and unique concept, an amazing workout, and PHENOMENAL coaches! Worked with Fletcher and Leo thus far and they both were supportive and encouraging. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone looking for an intense workout and a great support system!

My daughter went to a 9Round in Charlotte, NC and really liked it so I looked for one in SoCal and found this one. I figured I could handle 30 minutes, right? I stumbled in as a middle aged (hurt to type that) non-​active female and had a complimentary session with Vaughn leading the way. While I was convinced I’d pass out during the 30 minutes I finished and was sore for days after. Fun stuff… not really.
Fast forward 7 months and I go everyday they’re open, I’ve lost 30+ pounds and several clothes sizes and inches. Before I came to 9Round I couldn’t do a burpee or a pushup and now I can. Pull-​ups next on the agenda of to-​dos. A lot of it is diet (as Fletcher and Vaughn will tell you) but 9Round has definitely helped. If you want to talk nutrition/​diet, the trainers will talk nutrition/​diet with you.
The training is different every day, every round, which keeps you focused and interested. Some days more legs, others more arms, always some abs. And it’s 30 minutes which is the best part. You can make it longer if you want — do a double round, run a lap, ask for more to do, etc.
The trainers make the gym and these trainers are great — Fletcher, Vaughn, Leo, Michael, etc. I predominantly work out when Fletcher or Vaughn are there. Different personalities but both encourage you to work hard and finish strong. And if you’re really, really lucky you’ll go on Saturdays and let Vaughn, Leo, and Michael introduce you to the Saturday one-​minute active rest (not a rest AT ALL), burpees (a love/​hate with these), 100 jumping jacks in a minute (back to not an active rest), or some other fun activity dreamed up by Vaughn. You know when the trainers are doing the workout and are tired it’s a butt-​kicker.
Plusses:
30 minutes — we all have time for that, right?
When they’re open you can drop in when you want, don’t have to wait for a specific class time.
Trainers who know your name (kinda like Cheers), encourage and push you.

Amazing workout !! Coached by Fletcher you can’t go wrong he motivates you through the whole session & makes sure you push your body to limits you never thought were possible ! Definitely something to come back to!

My friend bought me a groupon deal for 10 classes. We went together a few times and really enjoyed the workouts. Fletcher, the trainer there totally kicked our butts! My whole body was sore for a couple of days! Props to him for being such a great multi-​tasker, too. He was able to coordinate workouts for everyone there simultaneous and still provide one-​on-​one attention!
I would love to go back and continue working out there, but unfortunately my groupon expired. :(

I would like to share about the pros and cons for being a first timer and observer at this gym.
Pros:
1. No need to worry about a schedule. You can work out whatever time of the day as long as it’s open hours.
2. Trainers are very nice and caring people. They take the time to show you how to do the moves correctly.
3. The gym is constantly being cleaned to insure cleanliness
4. Workout is only 30 minutes, but you work up a good sweat.
Cons:
1. My friend who went to the gym with me didn’t get modifications for her workout due to her health condition and physical fitness level. They just had her jump into working out and as a result, she got very sick in the process. However, the trainer did take the time to contact her to check to see how she is doing and was willing to work with her if she did come back.
2. Space can be pretty cramped at times.
3. Pricing. I would recommend taking advantage of special deals. I didn’t take the summer advantage, but am going to wait when they have future special deals.

Where do I even begin?!
9Round is a unique gym, where you come in for a thirty minute workout and actually leave feeling like you have a six pack! The thirty minutes go by quick! Just pace yourself! The gym works like this: there are 9 different rounds (hence the name), with different workouts on each. Each round lasts about 3 minutes with an active break in between rounds that last under a minute. Between the rounds, you’d be doing squats or taking a lap; something to stay active. When you finish all the rounds, you can stay working on anything else (the trainers will ALWAYS be glad to help) until they close. The workouts are fun and different EVERY DAY so you can never get bored! You push yourself by the challenge of the week (C.H.O.W), by trying to make it to 300 club, or with those awesome/​motivating trainers.
Riza, Fletch, and Vaughn are amazing. They really push you to your potential and still make you feel like family. It’s tough love, I guess. :) You never walk in feeling ignored or unwelcome. Coming to this gym, you can see that you become apart of a big family, especially since they place your photo on their wall! Great vibes here and so much fun!

I was looking for an intense workout without being intimidated by extreme fitness folks. I ran the Surf City 10K, got a flyer, came in, and lo and behold, these three individuals (Riza, Fletcher, and Vaughn) are all fitness gurus who are both nice AND funny! They are all extremely supportive of my fitness goals. Occasionally, when time allows, I stay to do more than just the «9 rounds» and Vaughn or Fletcher will set up a round of personal training depending on which area of my body I want to target. It’s personal training included in the cost, people!
I feel like I stumbled upon a great community and it keeps growing! It’s gotten to the point where I’ve told my co-​workers who have tried and/​or signed up –even my brother went! I think my enthusiasm speaks for itself; this place never sells either which is a perk. I’ve been to yoga studios that have hounded me down after workouts or called me multiple times a day. Riza just let me try this place out til it sold itself and I actually had to ask her for pricing information. :)

So far I’ve done five workouts with Fletcher and Riza– and I’m addicted! This place is brand new, it’s only been open two weeks and I can’t get enough. I’ve never seen my body change so quickly and I’m excited about becoming even stronger and fitter. What’s great is that it’s only a 30-​minute workout, there are no class times and there is always a trainer on deck– this gym really sets itself apart from the rest!
Riza and Fletcher are both extremely knowledgeable, motivating and fun people to be around. The other 9Rounders I’ve met in the gym have been friendly as well– a really fun, welcoming atmosphere. And so far a pretty good mix of people that I’ve noticed come here in terms of age, shape, level of fitness– so I wasn’t intimidated trying kickboxing for the first time. I started coming to this place the first week it opened and I’m excited to be part of this new 9Round community. Thanks Riza and Fletcher– I’ll see you at the gym :)
