A voracious reader all my life, I have always surrounded myself with books. Growing up, I played teacher, house, or bookshop owner most of the time. I’ve «played» house and teacher now for many years – quite happily. And now, bookshop owner!

I found this place on accident, and I am happy I did. It is so cute! They specialize in books for children 0 – 12.
The owner Shelley was so sweet. She showed me quite a collection of books, games, and toys. If you are looking for great gift ideas, or surprises for children, this is a great place to stop!
Again, I highly recommend Shop Local, and this place makes it easy!

What a gem! This little shop, nestled in a corner of Feastivities, is simply enchanting! The owner is so knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and she loves helping to find the perfectly perfect book for a child. She has a wonderful selection of books, games, and toys for children of all ages — from infants to high school — and will happily track down beloved books that are out-​of-​print for you! While there are official storytimes every week, the employees will happily read to your child any time. I’ve gotten birthday gifts and baby shower gifts from them. (I read on their Facebook page that they now have a baby registry — what a great idea!) I even had the owner track down an out-​of-​print favorite of my mother’s for her birthday! My children LOVE going to see Miss Shelley and pick out a book. Thank you, Monkey and Dog. Fort Worth is fortunate to have you!

My daughters love walking in an looking at all of the books. Reminds me of a smaller version of the bookstore in «You’ve got Mail», with all of the enthusiasm for Children’s books you could imagine. We are now participating in the book club.

Amazing find! When walking into Feastivities my daughter, literally gravitated to the left. Shelly (owner) spoke directly to her like a little adult (which I appreciate.) They discussed several series of chapter books and she introduced her to a new favorite. Events are promised throughout the summer and we, simply, can’t wait. Shelly’s passion for reading and education are vividly apparent.
