I tried smoke shack a few more times after my initial review and it’s been great! Maybe the first time they were having a bad day. The chicken wings are on point!!!

I haven’t been here in a while but when I lived in the area I would stop by at least once a month(hey, it was on the way home). The service was good. Food was yummy! Prices were reasonable. Sauces are excellent!

The food was really good. I was so surprise because the food up north is not always the best. The ribs were taste, the sauce amaze balls, but the side as delicious as they were were not much. After three scoops they were gone and that made me sad.

Not as picky as some others looking for a place to eat, use the restroom and relax — it’s a carryout in my eyes. The food is good(best BBQ sauce around) and they do things the good ol’ fashion way, which takes time. My only reason for deducting 2 stars, is the lack of meat on my beef ribs. Ordered 2 dinner trays and both were on the skimpy side. If you don’t mind getting just BBQ chicken, then this is the place to be.

A great place for good, affordable soul food. Chicken, fish, ribs, bbq, mac and cheese, collards, cobblers. Check out the rib slab specials. I like everything, though the collards are stalky and salty at times. The cobblers both apple and peach are tasty. I drop in at least once a month, if the line isn’t long.

The first time we stopped here the food was mediocre but the peach cobbler was amazing. We had a taste for BBQ and decided to give this spot another chance. Instead of ordering the BBQ chicken as I did before I ordered whiting, chicken wings with BBQ sauce on the side and an order of beef ribs. Oh, can’t forget the peach cobbler. I have to say we will return. Everything was so tasty! The beef ribs were the best cooked to perfection. The peach cobbler was also good but I had more cobbler than peaches. But still really good.

Amateur barbecue at best, you can still taste the lighter fluid. This guy needs to go back to school, he was good on the side of 210 but now it not the best. Go back to your roots brother you use to have the best Babaque !!!

The ribs are good but the rest of their food is trash. The greens are grainy as if they still have dirt in them. The yams come from a can. The baked mac and cheese is not fully baked. The ribs are good but if you come for a full meal you will be greatly disappointed. The service is by far the worst I’ve ever received. I ordered a pork sandwich and they gave me ribs and bread on the side and said that’s my sandwich.

The line was deceiving. I thought maybe this was a great place but it was not good at all! Ribs didn’t come with any sauce. Macaroni and cheese was tasteless and greasy. Fish does not take 15 minutes to fry, especially the thin fillets they serve. Plus it wasn’t that good either. Also, don’t give me sandwich bread with my meal. You can’t make the effort to have rolls or cornbread? Bad food and overpriced! We will never return. Hogs on the hill is 1000x better and faster. Don’t waste your time here!

I haven’t been here in almost two years but I went back yesterday and I must say I was not disappointed. I don’t eat pork but I can review the fried bbq chicken wings and side dishes. The chicken wings were great seasoned good and crispy but not overdone. I got the bbq sauce on the side. Now for the highlight the SIDES were Delicious… The dinner comes with two sides I got the mac and cheese(SOOGOOD), candied yams(moist and sweet), collard greens(Two thumbs up) and baked beans(Delicious)! All this came to $ 12, unbeatable deal. I got the small sides, but I may have to upgrade to large next time. Lastly, I live for good customer service and I was not disappointed, the workers were friendly and let me sample the sides beforehand. I’ll be back and it won’t take 2 years again!

So good! I haven’t been here in a few years & it has not missed a beat. Perfect spice in the sauce, outstanding collard greens, sweet moist BBQ.

The parking lot is super small and cramped. So park on the street for easy entrance and exit. I’ve only been there once and for my first time there the staff was very short and borderline rude. I needed help making my selections based on the amount of people I wanted to serve. In the middle of me asking questions the cashier said«you need to hurry up and make a decision because there’s a line behind you». Since I hastily had to complete my order I ended paying for way too much food. The wings and sides are delicious. I ordered Mac and cheese, green beans, and candied yams. I’m not a huge rib eater but I wasn’t impressed. The place stays busy so they’re doing something right but definitely talk to other customers to try and decide on what you’d like to order if it’s your first time. As I waited for my food the guest were really nice, making recommendations for next time.

We’ve been wanting to try this place for a while and finally ventured here the other day. We were in the mood for ribs and Unilocal rated this place as one of the better places within about 20 miles. Plenty of parking in the back and the smell walking inside is amazing. The cleanliness of the front of the store was lacking. The floors were dirty, the few tables needed a good scrubbing and then the worst of all… there were several flies buzzing around. :-(I was prepared to turn around and run out but for whatever reason I decided to still order. I didn’t see any flies buzzing around the food and the back kitchen area did look clean. I ordered a full slab pork ribs dinner with baked beans and Mac and cheese and then a full slab beef ribs dinner with Mac and cheese and fries. The lady taking my order was very friendly. We got the mild sauce on the side and then the«mixed» sauce(half hot half mild I guess) on the side for the ribs. We raced home(ok we snacked on the fries during the drive and they were tasty). When we opened the ribs at home we were in HEAVEN!!! They were dry rubbed just the way we like and the rub was very salty in a good way. The quantity of ribs was amazing. The amount of meat on the ribs was incredible as well. There were some nice crispy ends and then super tender fall off the bone meat as well. We’ve had BBQ all over the country and these were certainly up there. The Mac and cheese was delicious as well. The beans were tasty but it’s tough to mess up beans. This place would be 5 stars in a heartbeat if they just cleaned up front and get a few fly traps.

Let me start off by saying I loved this spot! Hanging out in the area, I’ve always been intrigued by the cloud of smoke coming from this establishment! I personally LOVEBBQ and soul food so this place was on my list! I went in during lunch time so upon entry, there weren’t that many people inside! However, the ladies behind the counter were so welcoming and extremely helpful. My guy and I were trying to figure out what we would get since it was both our first time here. However, the ladies behind the counter explained the ordering process and gave us samples of the peach cobbler, macaroni and cheese, and the greens! I thought I was in heaven! And when I say sample, it was no spoon to taste, it was a little cup with at least 4 bites in each! And believe me, they were delicious! We ordered the half chicken half rib combo platter that came with 2 sides! It was a very good deal about $ 14. First off, let me start off with the good! The chicken! That was some good chicken. But as a previous Unilocalers have stated, the ribs, were just ok! I’ve had better! They were just a little too tough and burned on the under side! Now we all know about the burnt ends, but these were nasty; especially since we got the sauce on the side! We also got the greens and the baked beans! Both of which were very good! I loved this place! The chicken and the sides alone are reason enough for me to return! The prices are great, the portions are huge, and the staff were so nice and welcoming! Definitely a place I would go to again, just not having the ribs!

Unilocalers, when you’re right you’re dead on. I went here on a whim and because of your reviews and I loved everything about this place. Driving up the street to get to it, you can smell and see the BBQ smoke from the actual smoker in the parking lot. If we were lost, we followed our noses. This is one of those in-and-out kind of places, you just place your order at the counter, wait for it to be made and then take it out(there isn’t much seating). Not only was the beef bbq tender and moist, it was a big heaping helping(we ate on it for two days), the sides tasted liked good home cooking, and the flavors of everything complimented each other. Forget Famous Dave’s if you want REALBBQ, then go here… just follow the smoke…
