Management grabs there employees in inappropriate area in front of customers then laughs about it! Roy Wilkerson should not be employed there!

This place wasn’t terrible but surely can be better. Not sure if it was because it was dead or what but the place just seemed to be missing something. It was Taco Tuesday so they’re deal was Two tacos and rice for like $ 7. Good size tacos. Kind of wish I would’ve got them. I got the beef enchilada, which was a smothered burrito. Not sure why they can’t just call it that but we’ll go with it. It was alright. I wouldn’t order it again but I won’t talk anyone out of it. There are three of us there and nobody was upset about the place, but nobody was overly excited either.

I know it’s called Rockin Tacos, but that Rockin Burger though! I’m a sucker for a good burger and I’ve found my all time favorite. This burger has Chorizo, guac and some heavenly seasoning that has me coming back. The last two times I’ve eaten there I believe Brandy helped us. She’s great as well! Definitely recommend you try the burger. If you don’t like it then you need to get new taste buds.

We walked to this restaurant from our hotel and loved the location. We sat on the deck and watched the ocean while we ate. It was 2 for 1 day so I got 2 frozen strawberry margaritas for the price of one. Score! I got the shrimp tacos and my boyfriend got the grouper tacos. We thought they were kinda of expensive for 2 but once we saw them we understood why. They were huge and fresh and delicious! Loved their guac and the service was perfect– not too naggy but always there just when we needed her. Highly recommend.

Super flavorful chicken in the fajitas and awesome beans. Fresh made tortillas and nachos. Loving this place!

Should have known we were in for a rough night when the Asian beer was on sale during the 2 for 1. I’ll make this one simple. The salsa was bland. The cheese dip watery. The food had very little flavor. The rice was undercooked. The service was bad at best. The worse thing was that I takes my whole family into this. In the words of my fellow Unilocaler Cartman, «I would rather take my teeny tiny bicicleta and go to Taco Bell».

Great place, great atmosphere, great food, everything was great. The patio would be great when the weather is nice. I loved the fresh salsa and salads, their jalapeño margarita is amazing. Frank was a great server! We’ll be back sometime.

In town for the week, and I did my research on veg friendly dining options. This place actually states on the menu how you can«make it vegan». I got the veg burrito«in a bowl»(which by the way, the server had no idea what I meant by that), and aside from the big chunk of meat in my beans(which i was told are not made with meat) my dinner was GREAT! I kept a good attitude, and given the lack of veg options in the Florida panhandle, I will be back before my vacation is over. Service was nice and prompt. I’m subtracting a point for the meat mishap, but other than that I enjoyed my meal.

Although the food was good, it’s not likely I’ll go back because the service was so bad. The stars are for the food only. Any good restaurant will be packed on a Saturday night at 7:30, but this one had quite a few empty tables. If you decide to chance it, I can recommend the Carnitas tacos. Others really liked the Mahi tacos and nachos. I am a local and went with friends who’ve eaten there before with great experiences, along with out-of-town guests. It was a fairly large group of 13. The table setup was 2 separate sets of tables, the most bizarre setup I’ve ever seen. Several of the seats were unusable. Our server didn’t seem to be interested in providing even the most basic services, things like bringing drinks, refills or things ordered. It took 20 minutes to place our orders after we received most of our drinks. The server would bring a couple of drinks and then disappear. Then take a couple of orders and disappear. For our table of 5, he walked away from the table 3 times while we were trying to order. Aside from the food being good, the only other bright spot was that it arrived quickly and looked and smelled amazing. The only exception is the chips. They had zero salt, therefore zero flavor. The texture was great, but no salt is a killer. The salsa is probably the best I’ve had in the area. Our server only checked on us once after we received our food. Only one of us ever got a drink refill, which she had to request. The rest of us couldn’t ask because he didn’t come by again. It then took another 20 minutes to get our checks once we were finished. No attempt at redemption or offers to get anything else. Returning a lot of singles trying to get a good tip is the only thing he did quickly. Really sad, because I tip very well for good service.

It’s hard for me to give five stars because I eat out so much but this place nails it. It has improved allot since it opened so if you tried it when it opened and the service was slow or somthing was wrong they seem to have fixed that. With the places on the boardwalk this one offers the best bang for your buck to. Excellent happy hour. I have tried most things on the menu and all have been very good. All the times I have been we had one bad server but she was new I think. If your a local and hang out on the boardwalk I encourage you to check this place out, if your in town you must check it out. Lots of good food choices and drinks are also good. And let’s be honest, who can beat the view!

Yes, yes, and yes… meaning yes, it’s a great place in the heart of the Boardwalk… well, actually located near the end… but right in the heart of the action. Yes, it is popular, loud, rocking’ with music. Yes, the hand-made tortillas that wrap themselves around succulent stuffings are dynamite. Table side — made guacamole went quickly. Super thin house-made tortilla chips and absolutely excellent salsa preceded the meal. We came here with our family…(adults and kids). All had a great time. The kids were provided with crayons and coloring sheets to burn some time while we waited for our order. Drinks were great and served quickly. Price is fine — what you might expect at a popular beachfront joint. Only(minor) drawback was the taco fillings were a bit messy and wet. For some people that’s part of the allure. Nonetheless, they were delicious… and as mentioned above… the in-house tortillas were superb.

So I decided to try Rockin Tacos on recommendation from a family friend who has ties to the restaurant. Just bear with me on this. First of all there was no one at the hostess stand, took a minute to get someone’s attention, and then was seated inside at the tables closest to the bar. The décor is outstanding, and in my opinion, minus the bartender who was very attentive because he was great, the décor is the best thing about the place, well that and the view. The view is outstanding. Granted I went here after Labor Day, early afternoon, so there were maybe 15 tables if that, most outside minus myself and one couple with an adorable little girl. Waitress was ok, not great, seemed like she was trying real hard, too hard. No Captain Morgan’s, that’s a huge no no, while I like Sailor Jerry Rum, there is no comparison. Ordered the Steak Fajita Taco’s, because you know me, I love me some cow, I skipped the chips and salsa because, I wanted to make room for what would be great food, according to what I was told. This was not the case. Let me just say I’m not one for food presentation, just give it to me and I’ll eat it. However from a previous conversation and precisely why I went here for dinner, I was informed to expect this incredible presentation that would excite my palate, and my gosh, my stomach. Strike two… The food came out with both tacos on a metal taco stand to hold them together, with the rice slopped on the side as if they were in a rush, it was slow, are you serious? The presentation reminded me of a political speech that puts you to sleep but you try to stay awake out of respect. What I was told, was nothing like what came to the table. The steak was ok, the ribeye at Surf Hut was much better. I understand a different quality of meat however fajitas as I have experienced should be cooked medium. Thanks to my mother and the fact that she likes to chase the cow off her plate as it screams«I’m with Chick-Fil-A!» I was able to stomach the fajitas, and not impressed at all. Again, the bar staff, great guys. Everyone else looked bored and unappreciative to be there, except one waitress with a great smile who actually greeted me as she walked by. Word of advice, when you’re pissed off about a table outside, don’t come inside complaining about it in such a way that people sitting at the bar or close to the bar can hear, just not a good thing. So in conclusion… The facility, is outstanding. the view, amazing. The service was ok. The food was… not at all what I was told it to be, from presentation to taste, I was disappointed. I promised my parents I would be nice but honest, because of a family friend. Honest is best here, and there is work to be done. Everything is fixable, with the right people appreciating where they are and wanting to see the place succeed, because God knows we need good restaurants on the Island. This place has the potential to draw great crowds, when you have people that are excited about making something good happen, it happens. When they slack because they are bored… patrons notice this, for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

I have heard about this on Highway 98 and recommendations from locals. Staff — 4⁄5: no problems here. However it took us a little to get someone’s attention. Maybe someone was sampling the tequila bar on the job? Location– 4⁄5: The thing that got me was the view. Gotta love that look out onto the beach. Seems like the kinda spot to hit if you’re a tequila connoisseur or like decent Tex-Mex. Food — 4⁄5: Here’s my issue. I gave the Ahi Tuna tacos a shot and they were nice but I did have an issue. The only complaint I had about this item is the sauce it comes with. It comes with a wasabi-ranch-like sauce and the wasabi flavoring was a bit overpowering. On the other hand, the pollo tacos were on point. Pricing — 4⁄5: Here’s where the debate is. When the check came around, there were only charges for the food but not normal drinks. If drinks are included in the tag with the food, that’s awesome! If not well, oops? Overall — 4⁄5: Not a bad spot. However its hard to compare with the amount of Tex-Mex places I’ve checked out before here.

Certainly some mixed reviews on here but I can only speak to my experience. Very nice gulf view and excellent service for us from Rachelle. She took the time to answer our menu questions and was not rushed or hurried. Food was very fresh and tasty. Price was reasonable considering the beach front location at the height of tourist season. Definitely worth a try, in my opinion. We will take the family back soon.

Service was excellent, the ambiance was great, the margaritas were made on point and most importantly the food is authentic and delicious! We came in a group of 6 and we were served immediately chips and salsa and they kept refilling the salsa. I would highly recommend this spot to anyone. Not to mention they have one of the best views of the beautiful enteral coast beaches ! I highly recommend the carnitas burrito and the queso dip! Also the pineapple margarita and the jalapeño margaritas were the best !!!

Saw the negative reviews before coming and was just hoping for some mediocre late night food. What we got instead was food unfit for human consumption. The rockin burger was extremely over salted. The flavor was like velveeta with a bunch of salt added. The rockin nachos were equally as unpalatable. Some chips were soggy and the toppings were dry and salty. Our waitress was nice, but the cooks are not executing well. Our meal was comped because we barely touched the dishes. I don’t foresee this place staying open for much longer if they continue to perform like this.

Visiting the boardwalk at Fort Walton around 5 p.m. and hunger decided to pay a visit. We ran across a new place called Rockin Tacos. We had 3 adults and 2 children in our party. We were seated very quickly and on the outside per our request. The first thing I noticed was how tasty the salsa was! It was the perfect blend and wasn’t too spicy for the kids. We were received our drinks super fast as well as the food. All the food was flavored wonderfully and tasted great! The one thing I noticed that was astonishing was the fact that not only did our server help, several of the others would as well. It was an awesome team effort on everyone’s behalf. I’m looking forward to my next trip to Fort Walton Beach so I can eat here again!

This place had only been open four days when we stopped for dinner. It is right on the ocean, we even did some dolphin watching while we were waiting for dinner to arrive. This name fits the tacos were rockin, we had the shrimp taco, the chicken taco, and the fish taco. The kids sizes were perfect for them. The adult servings came with red rice. They had a house sangria, which three of us shared and we still had a hard time finishing it. We were not rushed out of the place when we were finished with our meal. The owner even came to our table and asked for our honest opinions of the food and service.

Disclaimer: I am a San Antonio resident writing a review about Mexican food on a touristy beach. We went on opening weekend, Memorial Day. I was excited to see they had already done something with the old Howl at the Moon location since I left last summer. The atmosphere itself is great — everything has been redone and updated. The patio is just what you’d expect of the area — a great view of the beach, perfect for people and wave watching, and a bar that opens both inside and out. The hostesses were very friendly and the waiter was nice, but obviously very busy on opening weekend. Regardless, they got us right in and the appetizers were instant. We couldn’t pass up the avocado fries — I’ve never had those before and it sounded delicious. They were! Wedges of creamy avocado lightly fried with chipotle aioli. Very yummy, very promising. We ended up also ordering the queso appetizer. The chips were terribly over salted. A few were okay but then you’d grab one and unexpectedly it was as if we had pulled them out of the sea water. The queso was a light color, very runny, and very light in taste. Not what I’m used to in San Antonio but still edible. My guy got the chorizo tacos — typically they wouldn’t have lettuce in them, but they did. I got the chicken taco salad. Both entrees were mediocre at best. Lettuce didn’t taste very good — almost as if I could taste the tap water it was rinsed with. The chicken was surprisingly okay. It all just lacked good flavor. The dressing it came with was somewhat spicy and seemed more like a sauce than a dressing. Overall, if you’re visiting and looking for great atmosphere and service but not necessarily authentic Mexican food — give this place a shot. If you want tasty Mexican-like food in Ft Walton, I’m much more a fan of Burrito del sol. Or, Ya know, stick to the thai and seafood until you go to San Antonio. I’m hesitant to give a bad review as they just opened, considering I’m used to really good tex mex, I’ll be a bit more generous with a 3 star.
