Food is ok, but we were there for the view. Sunset was fantastic and so relaxing!

I just got back from a super-relaxing trip to Ft. Myers Beach to see my sister again. Yay Florida! I’ve actually never been upstairs into this actual restaurant, but it’s upstairs from the Junkanoo, and the Tuna Carpacchio is the BEST!!! Love it! Also, the clam chowder is really good! Seared tuna, with seaweed, thai chili sauce and sesame seeds… oh YUM! Personally I think most of their food is way over priced, but i’ll pay 10.00 for the tuna any day of the week! /Tuna!

One word: DON’T! The place smelled fishy, were we any smarter we we would’ve turned and walked out, but the view on the beach made us stay. The waitress, Terry, at least was charming and entertaining. Ordered two dirty martinis, which arrived lukewarm in miniature glasses. The drink itself was mainly olive brine, the olives were old and salty; so salty we both shuddered involuntarily when we bit into them. The calamari was old and rubbery, bad enough to make us finally leave.

I was the +1 at a rehearsal dinner here and the best thing about the restaurant was the backyard view of the beach. The service was great, unfortunately, the food wasn’t as great. The best part of the 3 course dinner was the bruschetta. The salad was limpy iceberg lettuce drenched in caesar sauce and croutons. There were several options for the main course, I can only speak for the Chicken Zigarella, the house special, which I got. It sounded delish; artichokes, mushrooms, and chicken, but my stomach made a sad face when I took a bite of it. The presentation wasn’t spectacular, but it’s noodles. When I bit into it, I realize the sparse artichokes were the same kind as the canned artichokes I get from Sam’s. The marinade which the artichokes were pickled in, infested the rest of the noodles. I don’t know if this was intentional or not. The chicken was actually slightly breaded chicken strips, app. 3 pieces. Well, I finished my food, bc I always do and great conversation helps to finish a meal, but the food was for sure, meeh. Once again the service was great considering it was a large rehearsal dinner of +60 ppl. However, the food was nothing memorable for me. Maybe the dining experience will be different if the party were smaller.

This is where we had our wedding reception after our beach side wedding ceremony. They were very willing to work with us since we had a small wedding(16 people) and let my sisters set up the Cheesecake they made for our wedding cake and were very accommodating. Of course this was during low tourist season. For appetizers we had the brusettia, calamari, and tomato caprise each were excellent!!! For main courses we selected the prime rib, shrimp or chicken alfredo, and a seafood pasta. I had the seafood pasta and it was really yummy. My husband says the prime rib was succulent. If we ever go back I defiantly will go back to Anthony’s!
