Just stopped in after the riverboat tour again the food was perfect. We sat outside and enjoyed the fresh air and scenery.

Nothing special here. Just the same as the other spots on Himarshee.

This is a review for Briny’s Irish Pub on 2nd, as opposed to the nearby Briny Irish Pub Riverfront which is in a different location altogether, though only a few blocks away. A few of us had just seen a performance at the nearby Broward PAC and wanted to grab a beer or a cider afterwards. We came down to this area of SW2nd street in the Himmarshee district, as this 2 block area is well known for its bars, pubs and restaurants that tend to be busy, especially on late weekend nights. On this night, places like Dicey Riley’s, the Dubliner and a few others were either too packed with people or just too loud for what we were looking for. We passed Briny’s Irish Pub on 2nd and decided to stop in. There were a few open seats at the bar, this place has Magner’s cider on tap, it wasn’t too crowded, they had a VJ playing music/videos and they had a decent sound system and lots of disco lighting on the dance floor. There are tons of surf boards, nick nacks and kitschy crap hanging from the ceiling, and framed photos litter the walls. There’s really nothing that makes this place particularly memorable or special especially with so many other bars in this few block area which all seem to cater to a similar clientele, and there’s very little in the way of décor to make Briny’s on 2nd look or feel like an «Irish pub» in the true sense of the word, but if you just want to grab a drink in a place without the madness and crowds of some of the other nearby bars, Briny’s on 2nd fits the bill.
