Trylon Vet Care

Trylon has been our Eskie’s primary vet since 12 wks old. Unfortunately, there has been a steady decline of customer service and professionalism. We had never encounter an issue with any immunization records. We normally receive their mailings or get an update via email on their system. On a recent visit to Pets Supplies Plus for grooming, we request a fax for our Eskie’s updated shots. The only vaccine that should be missing was the UltraDuramune 4 Lepto Annual as of 11÷7÷15. All of the core vaccines were recently performed last year for the following: Rabies (mandatory every 3 yrs), DAPP (every 3 yrs), Bordetella (non-​core vaccine recommended booster yearly; however for grooming & boarding, must not receive more than 6 months apart), Leptospirosis (recommended booster yearly), Lyme Disease (recommended booster yearly), and recently, Canine Influenza (highly recommended if your dog is kenneled consistently 3 – 5 days a week).
All of the immunizations were up to date as we had traveled last year on vacation. We board our Eskie with Petsmart for a week stay. Prior to checking in, their associate checked with Trylon and received a fax with all the updated and required vaccines performed. If it had not been verified, Petsmart would not had board our Eskie. All boarding and grooming facilities require mandatory vaccines. Fast forward to 2÷1÷16, one of the staff at Pet Supplies Plus spoke directly with the receptionist at Trylon. She was told that none of the required vaccines were up to date. In fact, our Eskie was missing all the necessary vaccines. The last vaccines performed was in 2012 per their records. Hub and I even chuckled thinking that it was an administrative error. We had a recent copy of our Eskie’s vaccines performed on June 2015 for one of the vaccines. Surely, all of his vaccines were up to date as he received 2 other vaccines on the same day in addition to Lyme Disease. The staff told us to address it directly with Trylon since they claim all of the vaccines were missing. They had to sadly turn our Eskie away until we had proof of his vaccines. I appreciated that they mentioned that VIP mobile clinic offers service every Sunday for low cost vaccines.
We was absolutely appalled and disappointed with Trylon! We couldn’t believe that his vaccines were not up to date! If our Eskie had not received all of the necessary and required vaccines at the time of the visit, what service was exactly done for the amount spent? Our invoice only listed for one of the vaccines. The total bill paid was $ 300.00. We were told all of the vaccines are up to date. Our next visit was due 11÷5÷15 for the Lepto. Now, we realize this was not the case. Trylon is resorting to deceptive gimmick and practices to lure more visits and vaccines. Clearly, this is not the vet for our Eskie anymore. We can not afford the time nor expense on any clerical errors or confusion. This is a departure sign for us that Trylon has clearly gone down hill.

The vets in this practice are very nice, but only until they lull you into a false sense of security, then they try to charge you for every unnecessary thing they can, and if you don’t agree with them, they will try to scare you into thinking your pet is dying unless you pay for everything they tell you to. Further more, the woman at the front desk (receptionist) is the most passive aggressive, nasty bitch I have ever come across in my life. She knew my puppy had already had his check up from his ear infection and because my girlfriend was the one who brought her in instead of me, they charged me for an extra check up visit and when I asked why they did the 3^rd unnecessary check-​up she responded by saying «maybe if your girlfriend read the paper before she signed it…» Disgusting. Dishonest. If I could give negative stars I would. I will be writing to whatever veterinary governing board I can to report these thieves. I will never go back to this vet and neither should you!!!

I had the worst experience at this place following my adoption of a kitten at the Animal Care & Control of NYC on Linden Blvd. I adopted my kitten on September 30, 2015 and 4 days later she was sneezing and having potential respiratory issues. Since she had just been spayed, I thought it might be related to her surgery. Animal Care & Control gave me a list of Vets, Trylon being one, which would give the newly adopted pet a free exam. When I went to Trylon on Monday evening, October 5^th, with the certificate, I was told by the receptionist that because the kitten was «sick» they would not honor the free exam. I would be charged for an exam and medications. Desperate, with a sick kitten, I agreed. I informed the receptionist that it was a Jewish holiday and I would not be able sign anything, however, I would take care of the bill and whatever else I needed to sign on Tuesday evening, when the holiday was over. The receptionist said absolutely not and the Vet would not see the kitten if I could not sign (at that point, it seemed, they were more interested in money than helping a sick animal). I then asked to speak to the Vet directly. The receptionist called him in the back and he refused. This was my first experience with a Vet and I was flabbergasted that he didn’t even have the decency or compassion to talk to me face to face. Ironically, I received a message from Shannon at the Manhattan Veterinary Group asking about my kitten as a follow-​up. I called that Vet and they were as nice as could be. They said they would certainly honor the free exam certificate, even if the cat wasn’t well and I made an appointment with them. Although I live in Queens and Trylon would have been much more convenient, I am going to a Vet who cares about animals and is willing to honor promises they make with Animal Care & Control.

I have to say that I am very picky about my dog’s vet and groomer. VERY picky. Dr Wyler and Dr Andino are so awesome. Dr Endino especially takes so much time during each appointment to show Cookie (my dog) that it’s okay, and plays with her. Cookie took very well to her energy. Both Drs explain things thoroughly and leave no stone unturned. Although I have gotten very pricey quotes from them, they never do anything without permission. The place is clean, the rest of the staff are super helpful and sweet, not to mention accommodating of my schedule. Thanks!

So let me start off by saying that Trylon is clean, the space is new and the doctor I spoke with seemed very competent. Wait time was 30 minutes — not unreasonable. Having said that, and I have a lot of experience with vets, there are some vets that will try to «up sell» you and others that will not. Trylon falls into the first category. One example (among several): they actually put a test, which my dog did not receive, on the bill so that I could «pre-​pay» for it in the event my dog needed it. I also brought home a bunch of meds and food that I probably didn’t need (my dog started recovering from his issue before taking the meds, and wouldn’t go near the food, so I went back to my prior food and he was fine). Finally, I tried to get an estimate for a basic teeth cleaning — impossible — first I needed to spend $ 150 on blood work before they could give me even a rough number. Oddly, when I contacted two other vets for an estimate, they didn’t seem to have a problem giving me one. In sum, I think the care is good, but there are great vets out there that are not looking so hard to spend my money. I prefer those.

I had been taking my cocker spaniel Paris to Trylon when they had their previous location on Qns Blvd and had no problem following them to Forest Hills. It was always a cheerful environment and welcoming environment for my Paris. Are vets pricey in general, yes but I was always given my financial options before committing to anything, they were never intimidating or made me feel like less of a doggy mom if I couldn’t do everything she needed at once. Dr. Andino is caring, loving and VERY good in her field. She took amazing care of my girl. We had to put Paris to sleep earlier this month and I wanted to thank everyone at Trylon for being such caring, patient, workers. I appreciated your kind words at the end and I know Paris was in good hands. She actually liked being there. Thank you so so much for your professionalism. I HIGHLY recommend Trylon Vet Care.

My poor cat was very sick and my neighbor recommended Trylon Vet Care — Unfortunately things were past the point of help and Dr Wyler and his staff could not have been more helpful and caring. The doctor took the time to explain everything and the options in front of me and most importantly was kind and gentle with my cat — everyone treated both of us with respect and care. When a new cat comes into my life we will be going to Trylon Vet Care.

Though I do think the vets here provide decent care, they are incredibly overpriced and will guilt you into paying for unnecessary extras. I took my dog here for almost two years before getting fed up with the money grubbing, disrespect, and deception. On one occasion my dog had blood work done and I received a call telling me everything looked good. Soon after, they found out I decided not to feed my dog the prescription food they recommended (and sold of course) and suddenly they changed their story, saying there were issues with the blood work that were caused by me not feeding the prescription food. On another occasion, I paid in full for a name brand medication (not generic at their insistence), but when I came to pick it up they had given half to another patient. When the replacement came in it was generic and they told me it was just as good as the name brand and I should just take it (no refund offered). I refused since I had already paid in full for the name brand. After this incident, the staff were not friendly towards me or my dog. Trylon Vet Care does not respect pet owners as decision makers. Their primary concern is getting as much of your money as possible. The only thing I miss about Trylon is the vet techs, who were all incredibly kind to both my dog and myself.

Just moved to this area. Heard so many bad things about this place, since I am trying to find a vet close by. I wanted to check out the place and met Elizabeth at the front desk. She was lovely. I also saw that one of the vets I researched was there, not bad reviews at all. I bought some probiotics for my pooch $ 30 plus. Elizabeth said that I can return the purchase if my dog could not tolerate it. I went back one week later and some phony smiled person was at the front desk. She said, «Oh your dog is not a patient here, I have to check with the doctor.» She came back and told me that the doctor said I couldn’t return it since it was opened. This was enough to know that this place is desperate for a buck and not even worth tying out for my beautiful little girl. Too many bad reviews from neighbors and people on the street and inconsiderate on the most awful smelling probiotics ever found. THIS PLACE IS A HUGE NO FOR ME. Oh, I forgot to say that I called to make an appointment for my two dogs a couple of weeks after I moved in and before I heard such negative reviews. The person who answered told me it was a good 2 weeks for a new visit. I told Elizabeth about this and she said that is not true. This place has about 1 or 2 pets in the office waiting to be seen, just shows you.

my boyfriend and i brought our dog in for the first time for a consultation to have her spayed. we were so thrilled the attention to detail dr wyler paid. he was incredibly thorough and gave us a lot of good advice. this was just the first visit! we were seen in a matter of minutes after arriving unlike anytime ive ever been to the doctor for myself lol and then were seen by the lovely vets assistant who was so pleasant! anyway, Thank you Trylon, 10 000 stars!

I’ve been to probably 6 vets by now for my dog Brian and Trylon Vet isn’t the best one but second best, which is pretty good considering the other one is upstate. The office is very clean and the wait room has a tv which helps with the long wait time. I haven’t seen Dr. Wyler but my boyfriend has taken his turtles to see him and he says that he’s curt and has quick bedside manner, but he’s very knowledgable. I’ve seen Dr. Andino numerous times now and she’s wonderful. We even called during off hours when one of our dogs accidentally ate the other dog’s medicine and Dr. Andino called us back! She has great bedside manner and shows great care for the animals. My dog had an eye condition and she was determined to make it better and his eyes are all good now!
The office staff and techs have all been wonderful and great with our pets. The front desk always calls to remind me about appointments and are super nice when I call. The only draw back is the loooooooong wait. I’ve been waited almost an hour to see the doctor!!! It’s considerably pricey too but I think it’s worth the money and it’s still cheaper than Manhattan! I love the convenient location right by Yellowstone on Austin St.

I finally got around to writhing this review but a while back I brought in my dog to be treated. I usually have a hard time finding a reliable place that would provide great care. I was not disappointed at the very least although having previous bad experiences. The attention was great, and I was overall very pleased with the staff. I definitely will be coming back and in glad I found a reliable place.

I cannot believe this place — just got a note from Isabella T that she is trying to remove my review as they consider me to be «fake» as they listened to 300 hours of recording and could not find my call. In any case, I just called again, and was told the price for fixing a cat was $ 450 plus $ 39 for the office visit so looks like the price has bern raised within the last year. Hopefully you can avoid the trouble of going through another year’s worth of recordings. (By the way, I believe it is a legal requirement that you disclose that you are recording a call beforehand — why are you even RECORDING my conversations without letting me know?)
The explanation about the industry standard justifying the cost doesn’t apply — my 3 cats were fixed in Forest Hills Cats hospital for a fraction of the price. (Don’t try to tell me they don’t follow industry standards.)

Not recommended. Even with an appointment I was told there was over an hour wait. Wish they would have called before I got there so I could reschedule.
After this happened twice, I did not return.

I have been taking my dog to trylon vet care for one and a half year. My newly rescued kitten also started seeing Dr. Andino 2 months ago. So far I love everyone from the vet office — they are caring, warm and very flexible with appointments and go extra miles to set a time that works best for me. I am also very grateful for the support from Trylon when my dog got spayed (I am a new mom and it seemed a big surgery to me).
The downside is that it seems on the pricey side compared to the places my friends and co-​workers go, at least for teeth extraction (400 – 500 from Trylon vs.116−350 from another place my friend goes). I am also not comfortable with them keeping recommending Science Diet to me when I know there are better quality food out there.
Overall I like this place and will keep seeing them, but would appreciate it if they work on the price.

It’s been almost two years since my dog was diagnosed with a brain tumor and cushings disease and given 60 days to live.
I cannot express how disappointed I am in the amount of money (almost $ 3k) that was spent and the amount of tears shed with this misdiagnosis. I feel completely taken advantage of with the unnecessary testing and amount I was charged.
Under the guise of care for your pet, trylon just price gouges you to make the most money. Such a shame. Avoid this vet.

Thorough service, but that’s because they have to be with the prices they charge. I brought my dog in for one vaccine. Fifteen minutes later I left with a bill for $ 92, and only $ 28 of it was for the vaccine!

I have tried a few other veterinarian offices in Queens and, until now, I have never been satisfied. Dr. Wyler and his staff really seem to care about the animals they are treating.
My husband and I brought our previously overweight cat in after we noticed he was losing weight and eating less. It turns out he has kidney failure. Dr. Wyler gave us all the treatment options available, from the most expensive to the most conservative. We were never pushed to do anything beyond our means.
Phone calls are always returned in a timely manner and all the staff I have encountered have been very nice.
I would absolutely recommend Trylon Vet Care.

I brought my dog in for a routine growth removal (on her rear) and she came back with lesions on her stomach and a puncture wound in her chest. Another vet said this should not have happened as a result of the surgery… but it did. Dr. Wyler was unprofessional, cold and overpriced. Save your money and your tears!
