Dr. Souders is so sweet and was so good with my cat! I was a little nervous about having a vet appointment outside of an office, but this was so much less stressful for my cat and I think it made doing the exam a lot easier than it would have been otherwise. Can’t recommend enough!

Dr. Souders treated my puppy like he was her own! My little guy wasn’t feeling well and was clearly in a lot of pain. I needed a vet who would be able to meet with me as soon as possible, after a long work day and she came right over. She examined him thoroughly and was able to diagnose what the problem was with ease. She dispensed his medication to me directly and gave me simple, clear directions on how to nurse him back to health. Even though it was a house call, they did accept credit cards which was extremely convenient. Also, the total cost was extremely reasonable and not at all far off from what I would have paid had I taken him to a veterinarian’s office.
A week or so after she treated him, she sent me an e-​mail inquiring about his condition. She really cares, and it shows! I can’t say enough positive things about my experience with Dr. Souders. She will definitely be my vet of choice when my little guy needs medical care.

Dr. Sounders & Mark were excellent! We have 2 cats and one is very skiddish so going to a vet appointment and getting them both in a carrier can be VERY stressful for both them and us. They worked around other appointments to make sure they were able to see us on Friday & I had reached out to them Wednesday for an appointment because one of our babies had an eye ulcer. Both kitties had their full check-​up, vaccines and nail trims as well as diagnosing the eye infection. I would highly recommend their at home vet services and I’ll definitely be using them next time :)

I highly recommend HomeFront. I wanted in home euthanasia for my cat Chia, and called them literally at the last minute. My conversation with Mark put me at ease as he was very easy going and understanding. I wanted (needed) to have Chia euthanized the following day, and they were able to accommodate.
Dr. Souders is a complete professional ~ she examined chia and confirmed that now was the time. She was extremely gentle ~ putting Chia in my lap, and explaining everything that was happening. After Chia had passed Dr. Souders pressed a paw print remembrance cast and then assisted me in placing Chia in the box for transport to the crematory.
I am grateful that I found Dr. Souders and Mark, and am glad that they were the ones to assist me through this difficult time. And just today ~ one week later, I received a condolence card from them. Truly genuine, caring and professional.

Dr. Souders was wonderful. She and her husband made a very sad day much easier to bear. My 15 year old cat, Oreo was sick and suffering. Her passing was quiet, dignified and quick. I was very pleased with the outcome. While I miss my companion, I was assure that I was doing the best and right thing. RIP Oreo and thank you Kristin and Mark.

I just had Dr. Sauder and Mark to my house to put my CRF cat down last week, which was terribly difficult. It is the only thing about the experience and the past week that I am so happy about. I wish I had known about them for regular home visits, because I would have used them for everything and spared my cat the dreaded vet visits and going to some less than stellar vets in the area for the past four years.
I called them based on a recommendation from a former vet’s office, and they were able to come that evening. I asked them to come as late as possible, to give me a little more time.
These two were strangers in my home, but absolutely made a naturally terrible experience very peaceful. They were patient and understanding, and Dr. Sauder was very gentle with my cat. She also seemed to understand when I hesitated a few times to continue the process.
They took my lead as to how much time I wanted with my cat and where she should be for her final resting place. She was gentle with her and it was all quite smooth. When it was finished, they pulled out an immaculately clean blanket, wee wee pad, and carefully and beautifully positioned my cat on there, before slowly and neatly wrapping her and placing her in a nice padded carrying case to take for cremation.
I received a sympathy card in the mail a few days later.
Do not hesitate to call them. I honestly feel it is the best decision I ever made. I plan to use them when I get a cat in the future for wellness checks and regular visits.

I rarely, if ever, write reviews but Dr. Sauder and HomeFront deserve it. I had a very old cat, also very fearful. It was time to do the right thing and let her go, but the stress she experienced leaving the house would have been too unkind.
Dr. Sauder and Mark came to the house and they were wonderful – considerate, taking their time, letting me yammer on. I held my cat in my arms while they got things cleaned up, and we made a pawprint for me to keep. I really appreciated them wrapping my old gal gently in a towel. I’d pictured her going into a container like a picnic cooler and I hated that idea. But she wrapped her in a soft towel and placed her in a nice tote bag, as if she was going out for a ride. I know it sounds silly, but I’m so glad this was an option. I would have hated for these last moments to have been any more stressful for my cat than was absolutely necessary.

there comes a time all pet owners hate, when you know in your heart it is time to say good-by…they came to my house and made it easier them i ever thought it could be, the way they talk to me and my dog, thank you…

This review is based on the initial phone conversation I had with Mark. I don’t write reviews much at all but when a business goes out of their way to make life easier for the customer I feel I need to shout it out from the rooftop. Mark was so kind and understanding about my situation. He gave me options even though it cost him some business. Now that’s integrity! I have no doubt that their business will thrive under their honorable standards. If I wasn’t moving they would definitely have me as a paying customer.

Nothing but great things to say for her. She is competent and professional, and very nice. I feel completely comfortable with her. Can’t get much better for this for my skittish cats that cannot go out of the house without having a panic attack. She is very knowledgeable– you will not regret going with her.

Finding a good veterinarian in NYC is a huge undertaking. Every Unilocal review is either five stars THE BEST or one star THE WORST EVER… often for the very same clinic. I’ve personally been to three vets over my ten years in the city and was not comfortable with any of them.
A friend recommended HomeFront a few months ago, but I had never gotten around to making an appointment. I assumed a vet that came made house calls had to be really expensive.
This past weekend one of my cats got sicks very suddenly. Since I didn’t have a regular vet and no emergency vet had a clinic in my neighborhood, I gave HomeFront a call as a last resort.
I’m so glad I did. Mark was able to juggle some appointments around and fit me in on Monday morning. Dr. Souders was able to give me some advice over the phone.
At the appointment itself, Dr. Sounders was friendly and professional. I felt like my cat was in good hands and she was able to reassure me without reducing the seriousness of the situation. I really appreciate a doctor who is willing to answer a lot of questions without condescending.
The bill was very reasonable, especially given the fact that professionals came to my house and saved me the trouble of shoving a feisty cat into a carrier bag. I will definitely be making HomeFront my regular veterinarian.

My dog had a litter and rapidly went downhill. Being disabled, I needed to find someone who could come to me to help. Dr. Souders is just the answer to a prayer! She and her husband are absolutely lovely people and treated my aging and scared dog with tenderness and great care. I discovered them through an Amazon Local offer and better money was never spent. The cost was well within reason and pretty much the same as if I had taken her to a vet. Cost efficient, caring, wonderful! Highly recommend and will definitely use them again. Thank you!!!

Dr. Souders made house calls to our apartment in Manhattan on two occasions to provide euthanasia for our elderly dogs when their quality of life became very poor. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Kristie Souders: she is professional, sympathetic, gentle with her patients, very knowledgeable, and explains procedures clearly and with sensitivity. My husband and I feel so fortunate that Dr. Souders/​HomeFront Veterinary House Calls was available in Manhattan (and on a holiday weekend!). One day, when our hearts have healed, we hope to have HomeFront provide vet care to a new puppy or rescue dog.

Recently we had made the difficult choice to put our cat to sleep. Her cancer had progressed and we didn’t want her to suffer. An in home vet seemed to be the best choice since our cat hated traveling. They were very professional and sincere and they helped to make our cat’s death less painful.

I was sure that I was going to have to put my beloved 14 year old Hank to rest because he was exhibiting signs of suffering. I had originally contacted Dr. Souders to do the job because I wanted the best possible end for my boy and believed at home, in a comfortable place was the way to go. When I called she was very patient and kind – it took some time to get the information out of me through all the sobbing! When she came over, *on time*, she was sweet but very professional. She asked several questions, observed my dog, did a quick checkup and assured me there was no medical reason to have my dog put down at this time, any pain he was showing could be controlled with medication.
I was so grateful for this, and for discovering her at-​home veterinary service as the last couple of times I had to take my boy to the vet, it was extremely traumatic. And as a bonus, her bill was pretty much the same as I would have paid at the vet’s office minus the waiting room anxiety. I will be using her services for my senior dog from now on.

Dr Souders is the best! She takes fabulous care of our dog and cats and the animals all seem to love her too. It is wonderful to have someone come to the apartment to see them instead of taking them to a vet’s office since the animals are so much calmer when they don’t have to be dragged into a foreign environment while sick or injured.

I can’t say enough great stuff about HomeFront (Dr. Kristie Souders)! I have a cat that typically gets so stressed out by the car ride to the vet that by the time she actually gets to the vet, she’s a complete wreck. Having moved to NY a year ago, I don’t even have a car anymore so I was looking around for someone who could come to her and I am so glad I found HomeFront! My cat is also terrified of strangers and tends to get very hissy and growly, but was inexplicably on her best behaviour and at one point even came out from under the bed on her own accord. They were so great with her and I’m sure being in the comfort of her own home made her feel more relaxed. She was also a big fan of their treats (pill pockets with her medicine) that I have had no problems with her taking the meds following their visit. Great vet! They have all the stuff with them and can even run your credit card. Besides that, the Dr. is available to you on her cell or via email at any time should you have any problems. Definitely recommend.

I called Dr Souders, to put my little 18yr old dog Joey to sleep. I have known many Vets but I have to say, I’ve never met one as sweet & gentle as Dr Souders. You can tell she really cares & is an animal lover herself.
Also her prices are very reasonable…
I precict if you call her once she will be your Vet for life.
