True Value Security couldn’t be more helpful. They remain on call at all hours of the day and never hesitate to talk you through whatever the problem may be, from the trivial to the tough. They are prompt and we feel very safe having them watching out for us.

Amazing! Mitchell does security systems but the service is so awesome I wish he could help me with accounting, plumbing, car repair etc :)
He explained everything very thoroughly, his pricing is very straightforward and fair. Arrived promptly, did a flawless installation after going over with me which options that would work best. He did not try to upsell and make me get what I might not really need.

Mitchell is amazing! His attitude towards his customers in terms of professionalism is really unparalleled! I live by myself and I wanted to get a security system which gives me peace of mind when I am not home. I knew some companies from hearsay, but didn’t really know what to look for when choosing a company. So I looked on Unilocal and read up on various companies. Firms like ADT were quickly weeded out and in the end it was clear to me to call True Value Security Systems, as their reviews are above any other competitors. Mitchell, the owner answered the phone himself and he was incredibly easy to talk to. He came by and immediately came up with a good set up fitting my situation. Not pushy or salesy at all he explained me all the costs involved and the work that was needed to get the level of protection I was looking for. So I decided to hire him and I have been nothing but extremely happy! He always answers the phone or gets back as soon as possible. Incredibly responsive, personable and reliable. I couldn’t wish for anything better! I asked for some additional gadgets like temperature control for when I’m traveling, to make sure that I get notified when the heat happens to turn off to protect my home from the damages of frozen pipes. Mitchell had a solution and promised to get it installed in time before my departure. As always he has an answer and a solution. More than 30 years in this business, Mitchell is the man to call!

I needed to find a company to replace the security lock system at my office, and stumbled upon True Value Security Systems after seeing many consistent and favorable reviews. We couldn’t be happier with the service they provided. Mitchell, the owner, is very knowledgeable and reliable, and was willing to do anything to make sure we were satisfied with our new system. Even after an unexpected hiccup during installation, Mitchell made it a priority to do all he could to apologize and make up for any inconvenience. Mitchell and True Value Security Systems truly care about their customers and we would absolutely recommend them to anyone with security needs.

We have had True Value for several years with excellent service and no incidents. Then suddenly, we were alerted that an alarm had gone off and we were immediately notified at all the contacts we gave perfectly.
However, the cause of the alarm was unknown as there had been no break-​in. We called them and scheduled to come over the next day (a Saturday!) and check out the system.
They showed up right on time and went at it trying to diagnose the cause. The cause remained elusive, but they hypothesized that it was likely a fault in alignment or relay mechanism.
They did absolutely the right thing, exchanged everything out and made some enhancements to various signaling components. By doing this it would either resolve the unknown issue or eliminate the suspected sensor cause.
It has been a week and so far so good but True Value promised to monitor our reports carefully and would return immediately if it happened again. What better service can you get than that! Such a difference to have someone watching out for their product than some large faceless corporation who really has very little invested if you stay or not.

My wife and I purchased a brand new construction home on Long Island which included a Honeywell home security system already installed. Before reaching out to the company who did the installation, I did some research on security companies and did not find this company at all but I did find True Value Home Security on Unilocal.Impressed with all the positive reviews, I called and the owner, Mitchell himself, answered and scheduled an onsite visit with us.
During our initial consultation, he explained we already had everything installed and we were pretty much all set. All we really needed was the monitoring service unless we wanted additional alarm contacts on the windows and security cameras which we did. Mitchell was not pushy or «salesly“at all and was able to explain how he differs from all the big box security companies.
After our consultation, the initial security company who installed everything before my purchase called me to see if I wanted to set up service. I asked for the pricing for the same items and services we discussed with Mitchell and True Value’s pricing was much better.
Ultimately we purchased additional contacts for all windows and security cameras. The setup for the alarm portion was flawless, he added delays for the doors and synced everything to the central station and explained how to use the home panel. He also set us up with the «total connect» app which allows us to set the alarm from my mobile phone.
The installation for the security cameras was beyond impressive and flawless. Mitchell’s associate ran the lines through the outside of the house with Mitchell’s instructions and supervision. He did such an amazing job, you cannot even see any of the wiring on the outside of the house. In the room I have designated for the panel, monitor and recording system, he ran the wires beautifully. He even re-​stapled the wiring from the cable company who did an extremely terrible job.
I must say, Mitchell really went out of his way in everything he did. Throughout the installation, it started to rain, but this did not stop Mitchell with the outside portion of the installation process. He even helped me remove a sticker from a foyer window which was on the 2^nd story about 18 feet up with the use of his ladder and did not leave any marks on my walls.
Post installation, Mitchell has responded to my emails in a timely manner, sometimes within minutes. He has exceeded all my expectations and we are overall very satisfied.
We would recommend True Value to anyone who finds the following important: presentation, quality, price for value, service and availability.

Great service, quick installation and follow up! We had an older alarm system (about 10 years) with another service provider and hardly ever had to call them, but when we did, they never responded promptly. It always took days for them to return our calls! Not the case with Mitchell and True Value! He was great from day 1 to installation and thereafter! During our consultation, he explained everything to us (installation, activation, surveillance spots, maintenance, costs, etc.) and even suggested how we could reuse parts from our old system to help save on costs! The installation was easy and seamless. Mitchell was there to ensure everything went smoothly. He was really patient and accommodating when I changed my mind about placement of the camera. No big deal, he took care of it and charged me such a reasonable price. It’s been about a month, and we are very happy with our system. Mitchell even called just to check we were happy with everything and had no issues! I don’t think you will find this sort of personal attention or customer service from the bigger companies. Once you sign with them, they are gone! You are just another invoice marked paid! I personally wanted to choose a smaller company because I want the service and attention they can offer. I am very happy with Mitchell and his company. I have already recommended True Value to my friends and family! Mitch is very honest and reliable. Our server recently malfunctioned, I called mitch, he came to our house in 20 minutes to replace it and it was 9 00 at night. You don’t get customer service like that these days. I have recommend True Value to many friends.

The service that mitchell provided was great. I was looking to install security cameras on my premises. He gave me a quote that was fair and instructed me on the best possible setup for cameras. This is my first review on Unilocal and I became a member after purchasing the voucher that was offered from True Value Security Systems. Since I contacted Mitchell initially, he was great at responding to emails, texts and phone calls. He patiently explained the whole process of the home security system via phone without pressuring me to purchase his system. He even sent me additional information via email for my review at my leisure. When I agreed to secure my home through True Value Security System, Mitchell came on time and patiently walked my husband and I through using the alarm system, and answered many of our questions as juvenile as they sounded. I contacted Mitchell the day after installation after having a question about the system. He responded immediately and walked me through the process. I feel very secure with True Value Security Systems.

We had our security system installed in our new home almost 5 months ago. Of course, we waited until the last minute to find someone. I signed up for Angie’s List and contacted the highest rated provider in our area. I was pleasantly surprised that someone actually answered the phone and that someone is the owner. He walked me through everything on the phone and came out last minute to do the install on a Saturday. Mitchell is very personable. We have accidentally set off our alarm a few times and have received the call to make sure we are okay in mere seconds. Also, one of our sensors fell and broke during some construction and again, Mitchell was out at our place 2 hours later (on a Saturday again) happily helping us reinstall a new one. I love the personal service and professionalism. I would highly recommend this company.

Mitchell, the owner of True Value, personally came and installed my security system. He was friendly, courteous, and professional. He took the time to explain all the products he offered, however, in no way tried to up-​sell me. The system he installed, which is a standard residential system, is easy to use and compact.
In my search to find a security alarm service, I also checked out ADT. While ADT’s installation fee was a bit cheaper, the actual alarm system installed by True Value was of higher quality (I’m talking about the actual alarm device). In addition, I immediately felt that Mitchell was going to be much more accessible in the long run. Large companies like ADT have large clients and can only service so many of them. In all my interactions with True Value, Mitchell has always answered the phone personally or has gotten back to my emails within the day.
I’m confident that I found the right alarm /​security company and I would recommend True Value to my friends and family.

I called every alarm system with at least 3.5 starts on Unilocal seeking a reliable system for an elderly family member. True Value Security Systems was the first to really explain all the options and the values of the different options.
The honest evaluation of what the property would be secure with as well as the prompt timing with which the walk-​through was able to be scheduled pushed me to go with this service provider. I’ve been incredibly happy with my choice thus far! The customer service goes beyond just instillation, the company owner has followed up to ensure all questions are answered and everything is to my satisfaction.
Although, I hope the alarm doesn’t ever go off, I trust fully in the instillation and response team behind this company. 100% worth the 5 star rating they had when I discovered them on here and the ⁵⁄₅ I am giving them now after hiring them!

My family just moved to Brooklyn and we wanted to install a security system. The first company we found (who will remain nameless here) was a complete @*&$king nightmare. Over the course of 3 – 4 different appointments they could not get our system up and running. Eventually this first company stopped returning our phone calls and messages.
In came Mitchell at True Value Security to the rescue.
Although he could have made us get all new equipment, Mitchell took the equipment we already had and converted it over to his system. This saved us a ton of money. Mitchell then pointed out all the places where the prior installer had made mistakes, which he fixed. He got our system up and running perfectly. Since then he has offered us top-​notch customer service. He is informative, thorough and always available. If you want a security system installed, Mitchell and his company are the way to go.
(One interesting addendum to this review: My sister’s family lives in Westchester, they needed a security system company as well. We never talked about it and she managed to find Mitchell’s company on her own. Her security system installation went very well and she gives Mitchell very high marks, same as me.)

I think I will have my first good night sleep in 55 years! Mitch is amazing and comforting. He also found I had old alarm equipment that could be used with the new So I saved money too! Personalized service is rare these days and Mitch doesn’t skip a beat. Once the spotless installation was complete, we had a lesson on how to use the keypad (not sure of the right lingo for it) Mitch is patient and does NOT rush through the instructions nor anything else. Thank you for making me secure and a customer for life.

I am a DIYer but True Value sold me a replacement part even though it was not part if their normal business offerings. It was quicker than ordering online as I was able to procure the part immediately from the owner of the company — he even offered up some free advice. I would recommend based on the professionalism despite my limited interaction.

I never thought I would ever do a review for an alarm system company but I have to considering how great they were to me and my family. They alarmed our houses which are on a very busy corner of our neighborhood. I was instantly concerned for my Aunt and also my parents how they would take to having a much needed system but Mitch, along with the technicians were awesome and put every member of my family at total ease. They installed and explained everything over and over again to make sure we all knew how the system works and what else it can do. They went way above and beyond on showing us and explaining everything to us. Mitch is great and doesn’t hold back anything when explaining how things work and will answer any and every question you may have. It’s easy to tell the extreme pleasure he gets from this business and how he and his employees make every customer they deal with very important. Mitch will take phone calls from his customers at all hours if anything should arise. He is great with that and if there is an issue he can’t take care of over the phone he will make sure to come over and address the problem or question you may have. He is definitely someone you would want to deal with when getting protection for your home or anywhere else you need. They use Honeywell which is the best system out there. I absolutely would recommend Mitch and all his employees to install it and explain everything.

After our apartment was burglarized, my wife and I realized we needed a security system. We found True Value on line and have been very pleased with the product and the service.
Mitchell, the principal, was very accommodating in scheduling a consultation around our difficult schedules and outlined the various options knowledgeably. The man clearly knows his business.
He was able to design the system to our particular needs-​the apartment layout and the number of people who require access, for example. We have been living with the system now for a few months and are very satisfied. It is easy to operate (even I can do it) and has functioned without a problem.
