Very solid chicken and rice truck. Chicken is well seasoned and flavorful and rice is very tasty. Miles better than Sahara across the street. Get the white and green sauce(if available).

Been passing by the truck for over 2 months but finally gave into the temptation of Chix & rice. Yumm… oh so good. Ordered chix & lamb over rice combo and got a huge portion with abundance of red & white sauce! Meat was tender, not dried out and seasoned just right. Lots of soft rice under the meat. Cant wait to try the lamb gyro next as I saw several people ordering lamb gyro while standing outside in 35 degrees weather.

This cart is great. I personally think it’s better than Sahara. The rice is better, their meat is better seasoned and absolutely delicious plus they have an awesome green sauce.

I love these guys. They’re the reason for my membership to the nearby NYSC(which has sadly been a waste), but it tastes so good that if this is wrong, honey I don’t want to be right. When they first opened, I was excited because I tried Sahara across the street and it was awful. It looked and tasted horrible, the lettuce was wilted and nasty, and I wish I could tell you about the chicken, but I was too busy pulling bones and tendons out of my mouth to taste it. That is happily not the case for Shahzada! Their rice is what really makes the difference – fantastically seasoned basmati rice that keeps me going back. The chicken comes in chunks and tastes like tandoori chicken(I’m not sure if it is or isn’t). I like to ask for extra rice and they always oblige and are kind enough to never charge me extra(I’ll occasionally give them an extra dollar though). And, if you’re really lucky, one of them will make you some good biryani if you ask nicely. He’ll also talk story with you and tell you why you should eat onions. Note: they did have a rude guy working there, but he is no longer there due to the complaints. Which, is nice to show that they actually care about feedback. The two original guys are the best. They’re there the vast majority of the time. Also, stick with the Chicken Rice, the best lamb in my opinion is still the Halal Guys. But this chicken is phenomenal.

I came here on a really late night after work. Very few options for simple take-out meals in Forest Hills. Aside from Mexican Food(yes that is the food cart’s actual name)) and Sahara’s Halal food(popular favorite but also tends to vary in quality as time rolls into the wee hours of the night), your best bet is to travel to Jackson Heights for your late night filling. I have to say that Shahzada is slightly different than Sahara’s Halal food. Shahzada offers a fish option for those who are pescatarian. Although, they do run out of the fish option at late night as I found out trying to order it to avoid ordering just chicken over rice. The Chicken Over Rice($ 5.00) here is a dollar cheaper to Sahara’s and the infinite more popular and superior Sammy’s. But in the area, with more customers getting food from here, I have no doubt that they will be Sahara’s biggest competitor. The chicken was moist and tasty. The flavors were excellent. And yes, it was oily than I would have liked but it didn’t overpower the taste of the meat/rice. The vegetables were also fresh and there were some spices that gave a slightly difference taste. I’d say, it resembles closer to Biryani than it would be Halal in taste. Location of this halal cart is also convenient located at subway staircase entrance to 71st-Continental mega stop ACROSSTHESTREETFROMCHASEBANK in the corner. If you are on the NEWCVS side of the street then you would not have to cross the street. It is DIRECTLY in front of CVS. They do stay open until late but nowhere near 24⁄7 as a tip for this place is listed. I believe the guy said 3am but I will re-check that and update as a tip at a later time. FAN.

Awesome new Halal truck, open 24 hours, right in front of the new CVS on Queens Blvd &71St Ave. Chicken over rice is $ 5. And they even have a spicy green sauce that reminds me of peruvian. Try it!
